The topaz startled in surprise when the queen egg finally hatched and the gold inside immediately proceeded to throw a fit as soon as she got a good look at herself. She snorted in disdain, but she couldn't helping flinching a little when the gold snapped at her, even though her teeth came nowhere near the topaz. Then she tried to ignore the gold and pretend like she wasn't bothered in the least. Really, why should she be worried by what a snooty, immature brat of a gold thought of her anyway? She was older than her sister, having hatched out of her shell before the gold had. She was obviously better. She was still annoyed when the gold began to prance around her, but she was still trying to ignore her. She turned her attention to the eggs instead, encouraging her unhatched siblings to break out of their shells so she could meet them. With a helpful shove from the topaz, the Gathering Storm egg proceeded to do just that. The egg fell over backward, causing the shell to shatter apart and spilling a dark blue dragonet onto the sands. He sneezed, displacing a copious amount of sand from his nose, and the topaz gave him a disgruntled look at his lack of dignity. He was a slender blue, with a very long tail that tended to twitch and flail around a lot almost completely unnoticed by the blue, who crooned welcomingly at his sisters and nearly smacked the topaz on the nose with the aforementioned tail. The blue's eyes whirled somewhat sheepishly as he stumbled his way towards the candidates. He was not very graceful, but he was surprisingly quick on his feet for a creature that had just hatched and was eager to find his bond among the candidates. He raced from one candidate to another in excitement, whipping more than one with his tail by accident, before stumbling over his feet and ending up sprawled at Sakalas's feet. The blue seemed unperturbed by his fall, though, and hummed happily. After all, why shouldn't he be happy? He had found His! SakalasMine, there you are! Your Arreth has been looking for you, but here I am now! Do you think I could get something to eat, now?Arreth: 25 feet at full growth Egg: Gathering Storm Egg Impressed to: Sakalas Personality: Wild, energetic, talkative, clumsy, easily excitable, helpful Appearance: slender build, very long tail, somewhat small body. big, broad wings. Dark blue with even darker stripes on his neck and back, tail is completely dark, lighter belly. Base: 0f1c3a Belly: 394c76 Tail/Markings: 020817 The garnet had paused to watch the new gold hatch, and he thrummed in amusement when the bronze put himself between the two as though to protect the females from little old him. Silly bronze. The candidates had not yet been exposed to his particular brand of excitement, though, and the garnet thought it was high time he changed that. He walked--nay, prowled--towards the candidates, beginning with the males. More than one seemed apprehensive at his approach, which he found hilarious, and with good reason. Most garnets ended up shedding blood before they found their riders, and he would be no different. At least one person would be bleeding before this hatching was over, he would see to that. He started with the males, head lowered and body language subdued, trying to appear friendly. It was no good if none of the candidates trusted him enough to come near him, after all. One too-brave-for-his-own-good boy even stretched out a hand to touch him--and got a sharp snap of teeth that nearly took his fingers off for his trouble. The garnet hummed deep in his throat as he licked the blood off his muzzle. Hmm, not quite right. Something was off. He bit and nipped at other candidates whenever he could--nothing too severe, though a few might end up with lasting scars--a nip on the fingers for Raevin, a quick bite out of Fallon's leg before he could get away, and a shallow scratch on the arm for Larin--few got away unscathed, and though the garnet tasted their blood like a fine wine, he was never satisfied. With a hiss, he turned to the girls, and lurched at the closest before she could out of his way. His mauling left a decent-sized gash on her arm before he decided to ignore her. He still hadn't found what he was looking for, and he was beginning to become annoyed. The next closest candidate was Yufa, and he lashed out, snake-quick, scoring a shallow bite on her. The garnet was already turning to his next victim as he licked up the blood, but then he stopped. Tilted his head to one side thoughtfully, finally swallowed. Then he turned back to Yufa with an odd gleam in his eye, and the dragon practically purred. YufaMine...I like the taste of your blood. Odd, but...exquisite. Let's see how the two of us do together, yes? Come, let's get your Braymoth some food, and properly meet my siblings. We could do with some...allies.Braymoth: 38 feet at full growth Egg: Crimson Stain Egg Impressed to: Yufa Personality: Makes lots of friends, quite intelligent, outgoing, personable, malicious, manipulative, cunning, subtle Appearance: slender build with a long neck and tail, slender but short limbs. Quickly Larim ripped a strip of fabric off the bottom of his robe, then ripped a slit up the side so his legs could move without the fabric slowing him down. He'd been caught by a claw swipe as if he were a slow moving off balanced land dweller. It was not happening again, the folks in the stands could just sharding well cope if they saw his thigh. He used the strip of fabric to bind up the light gash on his arm. He'd gotten worse in a knife fight, and certainly given worse. He moved a bit, testing his balance on the sand and making sure he could dodge next time.
It had taken all his self control to not kick that red hatchling in the tail. They had been warned hatchlings could swipe at them or knock them down. Larim hadn't realized that tasting blood was a way some hatchlings chose. The girl the red dragon chose was in for a rough time teaching it to behave. A swipe from a full grown dragon would kill a man.
Larim took some calming breaths. Part of him still wanted to go knock the hatchling on its behind and that needed to get out of his head. There were still more then half the eggs left and there were two on the sands. They were both good sized girls, and considering that the male dragons were mostly choosing girls he could not rule out the chance one of these colorful female hatchlings might want him.
The one they thought was going to be a gold dragon was really pretty and a high energy whirlwind. He wondered what color she was? Light sand with green and bronze bits. Gorgeous. Not as gleaming a white as the other white had been though, but still nice looking. Was the other one a Queen? She was acting like one, cleaning herself off and watching over things as they progressed. Perhaps gold just meant some color in the yellow to orange range? If that was true, then she was a Gold?
Wouldn't it be great if the big white one chose him? Bet she would love laying in beach sand basking. Alright, his armn was bandaged, he could dodge now and he'd mostly recovered from being mad at getting clawed and disappointed that the bronze had not chosen him. For a moment there he'd had such high hopes - but the bronze had chosen another.

SakalasMine, there you are! Your Arreth has been looking for you, but here I am now! Do you think I could get something to eat, now?
Saka had been slightly upset by the fact that she still hadn't impressed since Akilu had. Not that she wasn't unhappy for the older candidate's impression. She deserved to impress after how wonderful she had been, and was still. Still..... Saka jerked as she came out of her thoughts. What happened? How did she completely forget about the eggs!?! Getting upset with herself, Saka looked around at the hatchlings on the sands. The gold was there, a bronze had impressed, a garnet, a topaz, an amethyst....a blue that had impressed to her.
A BLUE THAT HAD IMPRESSED TO HER!
Saka turned as she looked at Arreth, that was his name right? His tail twitched and lashed around happily, his jaws open and his tongue lolling out. "Well, you're certainly like a puppy aren't you Arreth? Are you going to be my puppy dragon?" Saka bent down to rub the blue's stomach, love evident in her light brown eyes. Yes, I'm your PuppyDragon! I will be your PuppyDragon, and you will love me now right? Maybe food will be in there somewhere too? What do you think LoveMine?
Nodding her head, Saka led the dragonet off the sands and to the back. She avoided the Garnet as much as she could, sending Yufa an apologetic gaze. Instead, she headed over to Akilu and her green. "Hi there rider." The new blueweyrling smirked and pushed her red hair out of her eyes. Already the up-do Akilu had put it in had come out mostly. Oh wow, that clashed with her dragon. Fiery hair and blue hide....YAY! Arreth crooned at His' thoughts. She was a funny thing His, that's why he loved her so much.
Akilu smiled as she turned to look at Saka. "Hey to you too rider. What's his name?" She carefully went to sit down, already placing Lorendyth's empty bucket next to the others to be removed and washed. The green crooned at her blue sibling, glancing at the Topaz and Gold on the sands. Let them have their fun being upset with one another, she was better than them both. Still...hmmm one good word would be nice. Hey GoldSisterMine! Nice Hide.
Her rider batted her dark green shoulder as she spoke to her young Queen. "That wasn't very nice Lorendyth." Whaaaat?!? I was just saying how lovely her mismatched hide was. It's so unique not being that normal Gold color now isn't it....of course she can't even see that there is some under her neck now can she? Heh, serves her right for being so concerned. I wouldn't be surprised if she turned aggressive as well...other than the snapping of course.
The Gold rounded toward the impressed green, narrowing her eyes and flashing red in them How dare a green insult her so?!? I AM A GOLD!!!! YOU INSANE PEOPLE, I AM A G. O. L. D. GOOOOOOOOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fallon smirked as he watched the new garnet stalk amongst the candidates, even managing a low chuckle as a handful of the kiddies were swiped and snapped at. He wasn’t, however, expecting the little brat to decide to gnaw on his leg. It was quick and over in a moment but the flesh had been pierced and he could feel the blood bubbling over his skin. Snarling in the garnets direction, he watched, almost dumbstruck, as the red creature Impressed to one of the females. Not soon after that did a blue and a bronze waddle off and found theirs.
Another snarl twisted his features as he continued to watch this circus act of a Hatching. These children didn’t deserve such powerful, venomous, beings. He paid no attention to the pitiful, whining gold off to the side or her topaz sister as the pair attempted to win all the attention from the candidates and those in the stands. Foolish females, he thought with a scowl before turning his attention to the bastard who had Impressed the bronze and his eyes narrowed dangerously. Nothing about this was right. Couldn’t anyone else see that?
The thief was tempted to give the nearest egg a swift kick if only to get this freak show over and done with so he could leave. He was armed of course in case the little beasts didn‘t appreciate being kicked in their eggs. Rules or not, his trusty blade was strapped to his leg, hidden beneath his robes, in case the situation called for it and this situation was definitely asking for something as far as he was concerned.

Raevin hissed, pulling his fingers back away from the Garnet and being too slow. They were bleeding. Well. It didn't matter in the end. He shook his fingers, blood splattering on the ground, then wrapped them in a bit of cloth he had torn from the edge of his pants, tying it tightly. The Garnet had not been for him. That was fine. There would be other dragonets, he supposes. He watched the red dragonet go then turned his attention to the eggs again. The queen ans her sister were being ridiculous. He rolled his eyes slightly. Perhaps, being male made that more possible. he wasn't taken in by their allure. He looked back at the eggs again, feeling Monerae's upset feelings from where it was he was flying around. He was not happy with that Garnet and if he had his way, he would be a big bronze and he would squish that garnet hatchling. It was a good thing he didn't have his way. Otherwise... there would be plenty of trouble on their hands. -------------------- Iirla was very glad when the Garnet did not make it down to where she stood, but she was not so glad that Yufa had been unlucky enough to Impress to it. The poor girl.... She turned her attention back to the sands. The Topaz was doing a pretty good job of ignoring her sister. Perhaps showing patience. A commendable trait. However, the Gold was angry again, this time at an Impressed dragonet. She narrowed her eyes. She needed someone who could reign her in. She really really did. This was getting out of hand. She wondered just what time of Queen she would be when she was older. She would definitely ahve some maturing to do. Without doubt as there was little that showed her capable of being a good leader at this point. She didn't want to be critical of the of the young Queen. She would much rather show some kind of support or something of that sort, but it was somewhat difficult not to be with her actions. She was beautiful, yes, but... Well. She would be a handful, she was sure. It was just a matter of time, though, before whoever it was who would Impress to her would soon find out who they were. She wanted her to choose. She also wanted to help her in some respects. But how would you help a queen? She shook her head slightly and looked at the little Amethyst wandering the sands still before trailing her eyes over the eggs, both the remnants of the beautiful shells and those unhatched, and then to the queen and her sister and even to Maeleth before trailing the mback again

The entire time that the Gold was having her tantrum, the Topaz was trying to act cool, and the Garnet was being...weird, the Amethyst hatched from the White Jade egg was shaking her head. Was there nothing in this world that was right? Was there nothing worth fighting for? She mused on this for a while, walking back and forth passed her siblings on the sands. Their problems were just that, their problems. There was no reason she needed to intervene, nothing too bad had happened yet after all. Though, the Amethyst did keep a careful eye on her Gold sister. That Queen was temperamental, and the Sub-Queen was amazingly the more even-headed of the two. When the Gold hissed and shouted at the world for not believing their eyes, the Amethyst slithered back toward the eggs. All of them were so...not worth it. Yes, that was it. They caused their own problems and didn't bother to clean up the mess. They left it for others to deal with. Shaking her head, the female looked at the candidates longingly. Hers was there, though the candidate wasn't that calm. She could feel Hers from here, and the candidate was furious actually. Deciding it was best not to make him wait any longer, the little hatchling stepped around one of the eggs. F'lonMine. Don't you understand? Don't you see that you're going about this all wrong? The Amethyst walked steadily closer to the boy, crooning gently so he wouldn't be startled by her presence. There is a right, and there is a wrong Mine. I don't know which is which, but I can feel it. I feel that you don't know it at all, you're so very confused Mine. I will teach you, your Aphath promises you that.Crooning as she moved to nuzzle against his hurt leg, the Amethyst looked up at her rider with a mixture of love, concern, and determination. I promise you that your hatchling will be in your arms again. You have to learn though first, and I will teach you. We will teach each other...now I'm pretty sure there's something I'm forgetting.....oh! First you must get me food though. You help me, and then I'll help you. She started to nudge him away from the sands then stopped. Oh, and F'lonDearMine? If you try to be bad, I will just oh, so conveniently let it slip. We can't have you messing up anymore, now can we?Amethyst Aphath Pic by Lark White Jade Egg to F'lon (Zero) Coloring:Body- d180d9Underside- ceb2cfHighlight- fa98ffMarkings on Head- fefefeSize: 22 feet Personality: Aggressive, convinced she is always right, strives for justice, easily distracted, rarely talks to others, will "conveniently" let slip F'lon's plans when he's bad. Appearance: Middling shade of purple with a greyish-purple neck and belly and whitish markings on her face. ---- It was the Gold's turn. She'd had enough of waiting, there was sand and egg goo all over her, and her stomach hurt. The little Queen sighed. She knew fully how much of a brat she'd been acting, but it didn't mean she resented it. They shouldn't laugh, they shouldn't jest. She was a Queen after all! The Gold looked at her mother, and then at the shining form in the stands of the WeyrQueen. Loraketh crooned, moving her muzzle to motion toward the girl candidates. Fine, it was time then. Her tail and wings drooping, the little Gold walked around. Who though? There were few females left. Perhaps waiting so long wasn't the best thing then? She glared at her Topaz sibling as she walked by. Everyone loved her. It's not that she was an attention seeker, she just was confused. Why didn't they love her too? Why were the bronzes only half-way paying attention. There wasn't even much of a greeting for her! Hissing, the Gold let the fury boil in her for a moment, and suddenly lunged toward a girl that tried to get too close...and she stopped. No! This wasn't right. Shaking her head and crooning sadly at the badly shaken girl, the Gold keened for Hers. She wanted this to be over. She hated that she wasn't a proper Gold. Couldn't she just slip away and not look back? Couldn't she just not be a Queen? Yes, that thought crossed her mind. Why was she dealing with the pressure, the instant expectation that she had to behave? Why couldn't she find Hers and go exploring outside? She wanted to see things. Angry again at her inability to do what she actually wanted, the Gold lashed her tail around. Where was her rider! The Queen trotted down the line of girls again, hissing as one girl tried to place a hand on her. Not you! The girl drew back, tears forming in her eyes. Shaking her head, the Gold stopped and keened again. Mine?.....Iirla! Where have you been?!? I've been looking all over for you, I'm a mess, I've made a fool of myself multiple times, they expect me to be so much better than this! Running toward the girl, the Gold barreled her over and nuzzled her head against Iirla's chest. IirlaMine, take your Izanycorth away please, I'm hungry. I want food, and I want to get out of here. I hate this...always being scrutinized. Do they not see that I am a Queen, that I'm a true Queen? I am not some random event and happenstance. The dragonet's voice didn't reach anyone but her rider once she pushed her over. To many, the going-on between the two would be completely unknown except for the rider and dragonet's body language. Come on, now. I want to get this stuff off of me. It's gross...and maybe we could make my hide more shiny? Would that help maybe? Would that make them stop their jeers?Gold Izanycorth Pic by Zi Gleaming Hope Egg to Iirla (Zara) Coloring:Body- cfe031Under neck- cdd704Neck/tail- ffff7eSide markings- 8a7500Size: 45.2 feet Personality: Jealous, Self-Conscious *doesn't show outwardly*, Envious, Prideful, Slightly Vain, Short-tempered, Takes out frustration on others, Unsure of herself, Just wants to have fun and be free, she doesn't actually like being a Queen...not that she'd ever tell Description: petite build and small for a gold. Demetri watched as more eggs hatched and impressed. None of them picking him. He sighed and wondered if any of them would be for him. He shook his head and looked over at the remaning eggs, and then turned his attention to the Topaz female. She still hadn't impressed, and wonderd who she would pick. She probably won't even give me a glance. He mentlaly beat himself in the face for that. He needed to stop feeling so bad, and start thinking possitive thoughts.

Ulteritohr had been watching the gold.
He'd been watching everything else, too, of course-- occasionally with a bright gleam of hope in his eyes-- but the gold captured most of his attention. It wasn't that he hoped to Impress it-- that was just a silly thought-- it was that.. well. You heard of hatchings outside of the weyr, but the thing you heard the most about was when a gold impressed. You always heard who the gold impressed, and hte name of the hatchling, and their sizes and how healthy they were, even if you lived miles away and had never seen a dragon in your life.
She took her time choosing a bond- was that normal-- but eventually she did get up and propel herself across the sands, seeking her lifemate. When she Impressed, ulteritohr nodded and clapped slightly- that seemed the polite thing to do, even for a candidate.
That done, he turned back to the eggs. There were significantly less of them now, and for a second a lick of worry touched his mind- but he pushed it away. No, he didn't need to be concerned. He was young. He could stand again, if there was no dragonet for him in those eggs, and it was better that the dragonets choose carefully, rather then make an ill match.

Ad’os loved hatchings, especially since becoming a search rider. Watching and hoping that the men and women he found impressed was almost as exhilarating as being there himself. As such, when one of his first searches of the clutch, Akilu, impressed the second dragon of the day, the young brown rider couldn’t help but let out a loud cheer, his arm shooting up into the air. Soheath too, bugled loudly from his perch as the girl he was fond of impressed.
“Well done, Weyrling Akilu,” Addy said with a warm smile once the new pair came to get their rags for cleaning. He couldn’t help but try to give the young woman a hug as well. He offered congratulatory words to the other pairs as they came to get their rags from him. Yet once again, he got incredibly excited as Sakalas impressed. To a blue? He had been expecting her to get a green, since the young females were so known for their excitability. Then again, that blue was quite possibly more hyper than any green he had ever seen. It was a good match, definitely.
V’koi and his little Panyth had picked a seat relatively close to Pan, thinking he would get the best view from there and not caring that his own outfit (today a bright blue with orange and green) and his rainbow coloured dragonet drew a lot of attention, though the other strange colours from Ista were getting a fair bit off attention as well. As an opal hatched, V’koi grinned. That would be a good one! Just like his Panyth. Weren’t opals just wonderful dragons! He grinned at Panyth’s approving croon. A few more dragons hatched, with Vek and his partner both watching in rapt, curious attention. That tunnel vision type of attention was broken at a slight snapping sound not far from them. Glancing up, Vek realized it had been the garnet and His again and the opal pair shifted away a bit as the long red tail came dangerously close to hitting them.. The two still, without a doubt, made him nervous.
J’dol had been watching the hatching from the stands. Kayath, now quite practiced in flying, had picked a ledge to watch from, since she was far too large to be in the stands. She had spent the majority of the hatching commenting on the young males that were hatching. Surely THEY would love her wouldn’t they? Of course they would. She was a topaz! The one and only! I wouldn’t speak too soon Princess, J’dol commented with a smirk as the Forever Yours egg hatched, revealing a dragonet that could only be a Topaz. Kayath growled lightly at first at the arrival of this.. This.. Imposter. Really, who did she think she was? Didn’t she know that she, Kayath, was the best and most wonderful topaz that ever existed? This would simply not do.
Yufa watched patiently as the green went on to impress one of the other girls, just as she expected. There was still plenty of eggs, so she wasn’t worried… yet. Soon after Akilu met her bonded another egg hatched, releasing one of those new colours, an opal was it? She glanced out to the Opal dragonet in the stands, the one that had come from Ista. They were awfully colourful, but they seemed to be kind creatures, not at all like the two garnets she had seen now. By the same token, she wasn’t sure how comfortable she was with these non-traditional colours. They drew too much attention and broke the molds that shouldn’t have been broken. Well, since they were appearing at Ista, and now here in both Gold’s clutches, it was pretty safe to assume they would be around for good. She would have to get used to that. And fast apparently, as one of the purple ones was next to hatch. What was it called? An Amethyst? Was she vicious as well? Yufa was worried as the little female starting pressing down on one of the other eggs, but as cracks appeared on the shell she realized the purple was only trying to help, and the arrival of a healthy blue and brown simply proved that. Yufa sighed, at least these hatchlings didn’t seem to have any.. Instabilities?
Of the three, the bright blue was the quickest to impress, picking a girl just down the line from her and the brown followed soon after, though as expected he picked from the males. Then a Topaz hatched, as Yufa wondered if she would be just like the one from Loraketh’s clutch. All needy and wanting attention. So unlady-like! She would have to wait though, as the Opal finally moved on from the males to check the girls. It impressed to one of the girls Yufa didn’t really know, Corda? Kerdi? Kordelia? That sounded right, she thought, feeling a bit guilty at having not learned all her fellow candidates names. Well, she was a fellow candidate no longer.
Well, that was quite a few impressions now… the worry was beginning to seep into the edges of Yufa’s mind, though she tried to shake them off. She had to avoid worrying. There was still time… A green hatched, followed by one of those horrid garnets. What a silly creatures, she should have run the moment the red wing popped out. Luckily though, the poor green didn’t seem to be injured and was running straight at the girls! Yufa actually smiled as she picked her roommate, Petal to impress to. The young woman gave Petal a look that clearly said ‘congratulations’, sad that she might not see the other woman again.
A gasp from the crowd pulled her attention back to the eggs in time to see the wonder of the clutch, the new queen, hatch from her egg. She lifted an eyebrow as she noticed the little gold’s colouring. While bronzes and greens weren’t altogether uncommon on golds, she had never heard of one with so many colours on her. Despite how odd it was, she was quite a beauty. Unique and wonderful in her own right, though her behaviour could use some work. The tumble she took actually made Yufa feel a little embarrassed, and she hoped whoever the gold picked would be able to fix up her poise and behaviour into something befitting a queen. It wasn’t until the queen hissed at the bronze that Yufa noticed his arrival as well, and she automatically curtsied to both of them, having forgotten herself for a moment. The young bronze didn’t keep her attention for long though. He was meant for a boy, so it would be silly of Yufa to waste her time hoping for him. No, her attention was better used on the other hatchlings on the sands. They had been there for quite a while now.. Was theirs not on the sands?
She couldn’t worry for long, as soon a blue had joined them on the sands. He was a fast little creature, Yufa mused as he came barrelling by, his crazy tail just barely missing her as he ran past. Yufa wasn’t surprised in the least when he impressed to that crazy girl, Sakalas. A perfect pair if she ever had seen one. She turned back to first the eggs, then the remaining hatchlings on the sands. The gold, the topaz… and that vicious garnet. In the back of her mind, she hoped that more eggs would hatch, since the eggs seemed to be a good distraction for the ones on the sands, but it didn’t seem like any more would be hatching at the moment. No, it seemed the garnet had decided it was time to find his. Yufa watched him as he examined the boys. Examine wasn’t quite the right word was it, it was more like tasting the boys, since he gave each a little injury as he passed by. She assumed he would pick Fallon, since the boy was just as impersonal as the dragonet. But… the garnet passed him by, with only a bite out of his leg. It looked at bit harsh too. Yufa placed her hand gently against the healer’s pouch hidden under her robes. Once the garnet had impressed she would simply have to go help the boys, the healer training in her told her to. But… that garnet would need to finish first, and he was getting awfully close to the girls, brutally attacking the one right next to her. Yufa gulped, but she tried to stand as still as possible, hoping he would overlook her and leave her without an injury.
He didn’t though, and Yufa let out a short yelp as his teeth sunk into her arm and as soon as he had let go her other hand shot to the injury to try to stem the bleeding. It wasn’t a deep wound, but she was a dainty girl, her pain tolerance low and it didn’t take much to make her bleed. He was moving on though, surely to attack someone else, good riddance! As if hearing her thoughts, the garnet paused his movements and looked back at her, purring in a way that made her skin crawl. Oh no.. had he heard her thoughts? She braced herself for another attack, though she looked him squarely in the eyes this time. The attack never came! Instead of claws it was a voice that slit through her.
YufaMine...I like the taste of your blood. Odd, but...exquisite. Let's see how the two of us do together, yes? Come, let's get your Braymoth some food, and properly meet my siblings. We could do with some...allies. Was this…? Had he…? Oh no…. Oh no! NO! This was all wrong! She was a lady! She should have gotten a green! Or even a blue! But a garnet? Had he not been meant for a boy? And now the attention was on her. This was just all so wrong! A hiss escaped the garnet and Yufa wasn’t quick enough to dodge the tail that whacked her in the side, pushing her off balance and into the sands. A tear came to her eyes, but she looked up angrily at Braymoth. How DARE he push her? How DARE he treat a lady as such. She didn’t care what colour he was, such behaviour was improper and inexcusable. No, she had put up with that behaviour from that monster of a father, she wouldn’t just let this dragon, this baby who hadn’t even been alive for a day, force his will on her.
“No.” She replied as she stood, wiping the sand from her robes. She levelled her eyes with the rainbow-y red ones of the garnet. “You will apologise for hurting me. Food is a reward for good behaviour and until you own up to your mistake we will not be leaving this spot.” She put her hands on her hips and waited. The garnet growled, his tail swishing and poised to attack again if need be. But no, he was not like the other garnets, he had his vicious tendencies yes, but he was intelligent. He would think before he acted! His tail swished as he stared back at His, deciding she was, in fact, the right match and glad she wasn’t going to just roll over and do as he said. No, he needed someone who would be of assistance to him, not some snivelling little wench. He snorted, not particularly wanting to comply with what she wanted, but he needed her to be is ally, not his enemy. I am sorry you are so weak Mine, we will need to fix that if we are to move forward. Yufa sighed, it wasn’t quite what she had had in mind, but her side stung, and her own blood was dripping down her fingers onto the sands. She needed to get it looked at soon. Braymoth leaned over, flicking his tongue over the wound, both to taste her blood once more, and to clean her up so she would stop her whining.
Yufa placed a hand on his head. That was more an apology than his words had been, so she would give in for now. She wanted to be mad at him but.. She loved him. He loved her. It was perfect, if a bit painful. The pain this time was in her stomach though, and she felt bad about making him wait any longer for food. She turned and walked towards the WeyrlingMaster, curtsying as best she could with her injured arm before grabbing one of the buckets of meat and leading Braymoth off far enough that he wasn’t within immediate attack distance f the other hatchlings. She wouldn’t be responsible for such inappropriate behaviour.
She fed him, berating him for eating too quickly when he did, which earned her snarls and growls on occasion, though he listened for now. He wouldn’t get allies by fighting constantly now would he! Yufa watched the sands out of the corner of her eyes, wanting to see what else went on without raising the garnet’s ire too much. She returned Saka’s glance with a half-hearted smile of her own, thankful for support that the look gave her. Then the gold freaked out, something said by someone else maybe? Yufa shook her head. Even Braymoth was more well behaved that SHE was. What an unlady-like gold, how unrespectable. The garnet was tired of his sister, annoyed at all her bitching and moaning. He wanted to yell out, tell her off for being so stupid, but that would be counterproductive wouldn’t it. The red dragon crooned, a dangerous sound, towards the gold.
Oh dearSisterMine… do you not realize how beautiful you are. You are no ordinary gold. No indeed… you are much more, much better, what stupid creatures they are to not see it. He crooned again, lifting his head as he whispered sweet nothings for the queen’s ears alone. Then his voice took on a light, possessive sound. Braymoth sees it, my darling Sister. Wouldn’t a queen be a wonderful ally? For a moment, it felt as if time was standing still, no one impressing, then the unthinkable happened. Yufa watched wide-eyed as a little amethyst, almost pink in colour, chose Fallon of all people! Oh that was just too rich. Yufa couldn’t help the chuckle that escaped her lips at the impression. Big bad Fallon with an adorable little pink dragon. He wouldn’t be too happy about that one would he?
The queen followed almost immediately after, once again showing unladylike behaviour as she hissed and lunged at the candidates, acting almost as Braymoth had. Then it ended, and Izanycorth had found Hers in Iirla. Yufa clapped lightly, earning another light hiss from hers as he demanded more food. He was getting full though, and his eyes began to roam over the impressed pairs. Hmm… which ones should he ‘befriend’.

The rest of the eggs seemed to be taking their time and Fallon only grew more and more agitated as time passed. That’s when he noticed the little purple creature inching her way towards him. Oh no. “Don’t you even think about it..” He hissed at the hatchling, eyes flashing dangerously as he eyed her steadily moving form. But there it was, that slight tug on his mind. Snarling now Fallon yanked away from the dragonet as she nuzzled his bleeding leg. “I said get away!” Venom was clear in his voice as it seemed to trail sickly off his shouted words, kicking up a cloud of sand as well.
This wasn’t right. Things were not meant to be like this! It was those bloody dragons. The dragons were doing this to him. They were at fault here. Forced him into this sickening parade and for what? To find that his strong, powerful, partner in crime had been won over by a sniveling woman?! Leaving him standing here with this…this creature looking up at him. This was a joke; sick and twisted and he wasn’t laughing.
F'lonMine. Don't you understand? Don't you see that you're going about this all wrong? There is a right, and there is a wrong Mine. I don't know which is which, but I can feel it. I feel that you don't know it at all, you're so very confused Mine. I will teach you, your Aphath promises you that.
His chest heaved with his ragged breathing as he struggled to wrap his mind around what was happening. Another bump against his leg caused him to look down once more at the thing before him and he pulled away once more. The creature who had chosen him and was still babbling on about one thing or another. He refused to listen though, scoffing as the dragonet mentioned something about forgiving him for his dastardly ways. Forgive him? Ha! As if a female could hold any power over him!
It seemed he was stuck. The only way out being death and the thief loved himself far too much to drag his blade across his own throat. Although the dark thought did cross his mind briefly. He shot another glare at the creature before storming off towards where the buckets of meat were stacked. “Eat then.” He dropped the bucket on the sand and stood back, keeping as much distance as he could between them. As far as he was concerned he was going to be gone by first light and someone else could feed the little thing.
The little amethyst followed slowly behind Hers, crooning softly all the while as she easily picked up on the train of though and emotions that F’lon was fighting with. She looked curiously at the bucket as it plopped down to her level on the sands. No, no, no. He was going about this all wrong. Tilting her head up to Hers, she nudged the bucket towards F’lon and scooted a little closer. Oh she was a determined one alright.
F’lon ignored this act and crossed his arms firmly against his chest. His eyes remained daggers, narrowed and burning dangerously, as he scanned the crowd, determined to look everything but at the amethyst at his feet. He would make her regret the moment she came crawling to his feet.

Iirla clapped for the Amethyst as she Impressed. A lovely little dragonet who Impressed to a male who seemed very angry to her… Hmm… Perhaps the Amethyst could do him some good. Or perhaps he would do it some disservice. It was hard to say. She clapped for them, as she was sure she was supposed to do… Then turned back to the eggs and the hatchlings which sat on the sands. That gold still had a lot of her attention. Her antics were decidedly unbecoming and different for a Gold, but what could one to. She was a lovely creature, but she seemed to be over compensating for what she saw as… being ugly. Iirla hoped that who she Impressed would do her a great service rather than a disservice in the end, teaching her and helping her to be a great Queen. Her eyes were on the Gold as she looked back at her mother and up to the golden form of Loraketh in the stands. It was time. She took a deep breath and waited. So many of the girls were going to want to Impress her, but who she Impressed to was entirely up to her and so, Iirla would stand, waiting. The gold was walking towards them, wings and tail drooped, as though discouraged. Her energy and her antics did not seem to carry with her through to this moment. However, then her furry seemed to reawaken as she lunged towards one candidate, a girl who had tried to get too close… But she did not hurt her or Impress to her either. Instead, she shook her head and crooned sadly. Iirla could see the girl was badly shaken… She bit her lip and watched the girl. Her keen for her for her rider pulled at Iirla’s heart. She wanted to go to the Gold… but she couldn’t. she had to choose. It was up to her. As the Queen started to move down the line and a girl tried to touch her, Iirla could tell that the Queen did not appreciate it as she hissed at her and doubtlessly told her she was not the one for her. Then she stopped and keened again… And she heard it. . Mine?.....Iirla! Where have you been?!? I've been looking all over for you, I'm a mess, I've made a fool of myself multiple times, they expect me to be so much better than this! Then she was being barreled over by her new lifemate who nuzzled her head against her chest. Iirla gave an oof as she hit the ground, but then wrapped her arms around her dragoness, grinning, even as she lay there, her gold laying on top of her. IirlaMine, take your Izanycorth away please, I'm hungry. I want food, and I want to get out of here. I hate this...always being scrutinized. Do they not see that I am a Queen, that I'm a true Queen? I am not some random event and happenstance. As Izznycorth moved so that she could get up, Iirla stood, dusting herself off. Come on, now. I want to get this stuff off of me. It's gross...and maybe we could make my hide more shiny? Would that help maybe? Would that make them stop their jeers?[/i] “You are a true Queen, my darling. A beautiful one at that. Come now. Even if they did jest at you, that matters little. We’ll get you food and get you cleaned up right away. You are already beautiful.” She put a hand on her gold’s head and started to walk with her off the sands. Love and devotion shown in her eyes as she looked at her gold again, walking towards the feeding tables. The gold crooned slightly, hearing the words of her Garnet brother. She did not know what to think of them. Perhaps he was only making fun. She hissed slightly and Iirla patted her. She calmed herself then, shaking her head slightly. Thank you, BrotherMine, she said, feeling uncertain, though it did not show nor could it be heard in her words. Iirla lead her over to a place where it was just the two of them, grabbing a bucket of meat and starting to feed her. “A’dos?” she said, turning to the Brown Rider, “could you bring me things to clean and oil her, please?” she asked politely, gently brushing sand from her lifemate. The Gold looked to where the Garnet was for a moment, but Iirla, who did not like the Garnet shook her head slightly and the Gold looked at her, feeling self-conscious again. Let’s just get this taken care of and then we can meet others, darling. The young woman gave her another piece of bloody meat, barely noticing the smell or the disgusting feeling of it on her fingers. Of course they would go to meet the Garnet later. Iirla was particularly concerned for Yufa… ----- Raevin smiled slightly. Another match. An Amethyst to a boy who definitely did not want her. The poor thing would hopefully be able to reign him in so that she would not be neglected. He crossed his arms, his fingers still very much bandaged and bleeding through the cloth as he stood. It'd be better to slow the circulation now, thus, in a facade of seeming calm, he pinched his fingers close to his body as he crossed his arms and watched. The hatching was continuing on and he was wondering as to what would come next. What dragonet would come onto the sands. Who was it who would Impress them... And would he even Impress in this Hatching.?

The Impression of the gold finally spurred the topaz to inspect the candidates herself. There was no way she was going to be outdone by that...brat. First, she needed a rider, though, and food. Preferably in that order. She craned her neck around to get a look at all of them, but she naturally gravitated toward the male candidates, sensing that her rider was among them. For all her hanging back and wandering before, she didn't take long to pick out her rider once she actually started looking in earnest, and almost as though she could hear the thoughts running through his head, the topaz turned her attention to Demetri, and she crooned, eyes whirling with amusement. Ah, silly D'triMine. As if your Chahaturth would ignore you. And we'll make sure nobody ignores either of us from now on. First, though, I need food, and you need to get this stuff off of my hide. Chahaturth: 45 feet at full growth Egg: Forever Yours Egg Impressed to: Demetri Personality: Outgoing, likes making friends, wants to be the center of attention, confident, devoted, a defender of others, protective, possessive Appearance: more or less average size with somewhat dainty proportions for a topaz, though still a bit on the bulky side over all. A pale topaz with swirly orange markings on her body and wings. Neck and belly are a pale yellow. Body- febe4e Underside- fff53d Blotches- fbbd1c Two more eggs were beginning to crack open now, and it was difficult to tell which one actually hatched first. The eggs in question were the Steel Edge and Patient Pulse eggs. From the larger of the two, Steel Edge, came a large, bulky blue dragon, while another amethyst hatchling climbed out of the Patient Pulse egg. The blue seemed content to ignore his sister, and immediately made his way towards the candidates. He paid no attention to the girls, and instead stared at the male candidates until he came across Raevin, and the blue shot a brief glare at the garnet when he realized his chosen had been injured. My name is Umeith, Mine, best get used to it. Don't worry, though, I can take care of anyone else who would dare to attack you, the blue added with an anticipatory hiss. You won't be attacked by that garnet again if I can help it.Umeith: 28 feet at full growth Egg: Steel Edge Egg Impressed to: Raevin Personality: Quiet, dedicated, intelligent, sharp-tongued, gets in a lot of fights, likes having a few really close friends rather than tons of acquaintances Appearance: Big, bulky body with short limbs and strong wings. Light cyan-blue body with darker blue markings around his eyes and earknobs. Wings are also dark blue, neck, belly and tail lighter. Body- 85f3ef Underside- c0eeec Wings/Markings- 29504f
