Naomi quickly covered her mouth with her hands and wondered just how many people had heard her laughter. Then she turned to stare knives at Korvin, blaming him for her actions. She knew it wasn't his fault she had laughed out loud, but it felt good to be angry with him, as though being mad at him might save her from something she didn't want to admit to. Let's face it, she wasn't exactly the type of person to just come out and admit she liked someone!
Naomi almost fainted when she heard the words that came out of the mans mouth. That had been his first kiss?! Her eyes widened, and she could feel her cheeks warm as they reddened. She quickly turned away, and stood up. She needed another drink, even though she knew she wouldn't be able to think straight if she did get more to drink. She shook her head, at that point in time she didn't want to think straight! Maybe if she was drunk she could just reach out and beat the dung out of him and no one would blame her for it.

His head hit the chair with a heavy thud as she stood up, and he was forced to remain where he was, rubbing the back of his now smarting head. Geez, he though, for someone with an injured leg she sure can move fast! Well, it was fine. She didn’t want to be around him anyways, and somewhere in the back of his mind he knew the feeling was mutual. Yet, the alcohol had done a good job at lower his defenses. Deep down, he knew she wasn’t just some annoying, pain in the butt kind of woman; there was something about her that he couldn’t ignore.
Well, it didn’t matter now anyway. She had run off and he was left alone. Man his head hurt. It would be fine if he stayed where he was a little while longer. He wondered if she’d return or not. He rubbed the back of his head and wondered where the wine girl had gone.

Naomi had limped her way around and finally found someone serving more wine. She took a glass, and slowly sipped the cool liquid. She closed her eyes and sighed. She could feel that she wasn't blushing anymore, and that was a good thing. At least now she wouldn't be totally embarrassed anymore. That's when she heard the music. It was a nice little tune, and she couldn't help but lightly tap her foot against the floor along with the beat.
I wonder if someone would want to dance with an injured girl like me. Naomi silently played around with the thought, but quickly dismissed at as impossible. Face it girl, you're not exactly pretty. She lowered her gaze to her glass and took another sip of the wine after silently making fun of herself. She shook her head slowly, why had she even thought of the idea of dancing? Then she looked at her glass of wine and glared at it. She was blaming the cool drink for her thoughts.

She wasn't coming back. Korvin knew it in the back of his mind. Well, it was no shock, she hated him, and he was supposed to hate her... and he did! Of course he did! He only felt weird around her because he hadn't been around females in a long time.. and because she kissed him... and saved his life.... Yeah! That's all it was. Just some silly woman trick to make him drop his guard. He screwed his eyes shut at a suddenly throbbing in the back of his head. No... it wasn't in the back of his head... it was music. He sat up, slowly, to adjust to his somewhat swimmy head.
He could see her from where he sat. She blended into the crowd at first, but her lack of movement made her stick out like a sore thumb from the multitude of people already beginning to dance. He subconsciously began waving back and forth in time to the beat, his eyes never leaving her form. He tried to stand, but his head swam too much from the wine to do it so on his own and quickly, and he slumped back down in the chair.
"Don' jus' stand there wom'n!" He called out, his voice still slurring, "Ain' you here t'dance? Then dance!"

Naomi turned her head and looked around at all the people dancing. She wondered if she should just walk out of the tent, then she heard it. She closed her eyes and prayed to Farenth that she had only imagined it, but at the back of her mind, she knew the truth. Korvin had just yelled at her, and told her to dance. Oh Farenth please let me strangle him. She slowly turned, and started limping back towards him, and was almost certain she was going to beat him over the head with her crutch.
Naomi stood in front of Korvin, silently glaring at him. Would you shut your drunken mouth you over grown child! She didn't realize it, but she had slurred her words. The wine was finally making her truly drunk. After a few more glasses she might just be drunk enough to never remember the night. She sat down in the chair that had previously been hers, and waited for someone to come and refill her cup. She thought that if she was drunk enough, she might be able to get away with beating the sense out of the man.

Uh oh! That had gotten her attention now hadn't it! Why had he said something so stupid? What had he even said? It already felt so long ago. He winced as she stormed back over towards him, possibly looking more intimidating than normal with her limp... He didn't know why but it definately did make her seem more fierce. Well... at least they hadn't been allowed to bring the canines with them; he had no doubt she would have commanded them to attack him in an instant and for once he was thankful of the Weyr's rules.
"Why don' you shut it for me?" The slurred words, said with a challenging, yet drunkenly suggestive tone, escaped his mouth before he even had time to realize what he was implying. Well, too late now! Luckily, it seemed the woman with the drinks was once again on her way around to the various chairs. She'd be upon them again soon enough.

Thankfully for Korvin, the woman that was going around and refiling cups of wine had already filled, then refiled Naomi's cup by the time she heard his words. She slowly, very, very slowly, turned around to face him. Her eyes narrowed as she stared at him for a few minutes. Make me. Even though her words were terribly slurred, it was impossible to mistake the tone. It was a menacing hiss that had a very seductive tone to it, something that wasn't normal for this hunter.
Naomi turned away from Korvin once again, and sighed. She closed her eyes and listened intently to the music. She could feel her one good foot tapping along with the beat. She felt the need to dance, but then she remembered her injured foot, and all hopes of walking out onto the dance floor, and letting loose for one glorious, un-inhibited dance was dashed to pieces. She resigned herself with the fact that she was no longer able to do as she pleased, at least for the time being.

Oh how easy it would be to lean over and steal a kiss from the crazy huntress! The alcohol had destroyed most of his inhibitions, and it was only a quiet thought from the back of his head that stopped him from attempting the suicidal move. The subtle, sane voice that picked up the menacing hiss in her voice was his lifeline. Then she had turned away before he could do anything anyway.
He could tell, even in his half-gone state, that she wanted to move to the music and he couldn't comprehend why she was being so stubbron about it.. unless... Ah her leg, perhaps. She had been limping, hadn't she? Well, this simply wouldn't do! Standing suddenly, he whipped around (albeit faster than he should have) and before Naomi could voice anything he had pulled her up, holding her just off the ground to protect her foot.
"Well then. We shou'dance, yeah?"

Naomi looked down at her bandaged foot. She wasn't even allowed to put any presser on her ankle yet, and that was getting on her nerves. She wanted to dance, but unfortunately she couldn't move around without at least one crutch to take the weight off of her broken ankle. She sighed and was quite pleased that yet another person was serving more wine. She gratefully let the man fill her cup, and drank it greedily. About this time the music started to change, and so did the couples dancing.
Naomi gasped, and gave a small hiccuped squeak when she felt herself being picked up. She stared at Korvin with wide eyes and wondered what in Faranth's name was going on. Are shu Kiidn? Her words were terribly slurred, but she was too far gone to really care. She tried to struggle against him, but she could feel the wine start to take over the only sane part of her brain that she had left. Which meant no more struggling for her.

Korvin laughed as she struggled, realizing that Naomi was quite possibly more drunk that he was! Maybe now she would have fun and stop trying to kill him. He swayed in time to the music, a goofy, amused grin plastered on his face. The people around him had become blurs and really, it was suprising that he hadn't fallen over. Some survival instinct was keeping him upright, somehow, and doing a good enough job that he was keeping Naomi just off the ground.
"Shee? Isn't d'is more ffun than sitt'n aroun', gimpy?" He asked cheekily, surprised at how little struggling was actually occuring. It was weird, to see her so complacent. As he mused, the music slowed to a softer song, and his rocking slowed with it, though he didn't notice himself.

Naomi tried to growl evily at Korvin, but it sounded more like a strangled hiccup than a growl. She tried to kick him with her good foot but ended up kicking the air next to his shin, which made her mutter incoherently. She wrapped her arms around his neck when he started swaying, afraid that he would drop her...well...more or less she was afraid that she'd get sick and embarrass herself and him by pucking all over him. Oh yes, wouldn't that have been a spectacular ending to the night?
Dot cam me sipy! Naomi hiccuped once again as she tried to sound intimidating. Then the music slowed, and so did Korvin, which meant that it was less possible for her to get sick and throw up. She relaxed and leaned against his shoulder. Eye gikf yolr bus agor if. She hiccuped a few more times and sighed. She relaxed her grip from around Korvin's neck, and smiled. She was actually dancing. She was getting her wish, even though something in the back of her mind told her that she was going to regret it.

He was drunk enough to completely miss the fact she had tried to kick him at all. Her… acceptance of him carrying her surprised him. He had expected her to kick and scream and force him to put her down… but to actually wrap her arms around him? Who cared if it was because she was afraid. The swaying was kept slow, partially in time to the music and partially because he couldn’t go any faster without losing his balance.
He growled as she started spewing nonsense at him. “Noisy…” Something in the back of his mind recognized a comment about her kicking his butt; however, he doubted she would be able to since her vocal skills had dropped so drastically after only a few drinks (not that he could really talk, but still!) Ugh. It was annoying him! Couldn’t she just shut her yap and let him be nice for once! Sheesh, women! Well, since it didn’t seem she was willing to quietly dance, he did the first thing he could think of to shut her up.
Of course, she probably wouldn’t be too happy about a drunken kiss.
