Assaila walked calmly amongst the halls of the rider's weyrs. Oh... he was here somewhere. She knew it. They weren't finished yet. HE was too fun to mess with... besides.. He was handsome. A good man... even if he was rough around the edges. She didn't like him... and yet... she wanted him for herself. Was that wrong...? If it was, oh well. She was just a very wrong person. Oh well. She walked down the hall until finally... she thought she saw him.
She walked up behind him. "So... Are you ready for another argument today...?" she said rather seductively. But she really had other things on her mind as she walked up to him and walked her fingers on his shoulder. "Though... I think I have something a bit more fun in mind... Of course... you'll prolly not want to give into a stupid girl like me now will you..." There was a purr to her voice.
Anori sat up on her shoulder and cheaped at him.

He had been having a rather nice day, as far as days went. He was busy working through a mountain of oh-so-exciting paperwork, no one was around to bother him. Yes, life was good, if a tad boring. He stretched, suddenly realizing how sore he was. A walk, perhaps. He thought to himself. He had gotten a lot accomplished, he deserved a good break. Walking out of his weyr, the last person he expected to see was that annoying woman from the baths. His face dropped into unamusement after she came up behind him
He watched her out of the corner of his eye as she walked up and walked her fingers on his shoulder. Just what was she up to. "Do you make a habit of trying to annoy brownriders, woman?" He supposed he should have seen it coming; she was Pillow Girl after all. "Do you know what's fun? Paperwork. Good, old fashioned paperwork." Just to be safe, he glanced up and down her form, looking for any hint of a knife that might be there to kill him, before nodding in greeting to the firelizard.

"Paperwork... oh how boring... But if you enjoy it... I won't judge you for that... I enjoy... other kinds of pursuits... personally..." With that she stretched up and kissed him quickly and swiftly, humming and turning to walk away, hands behind her back. "Well... maybe another time then, hmm... Brownrider... Maybe for a little... drinking fun..." She grinned, her back still turned to him as she started to walk away, though she was more than tempted just to throw herself back at him and kiss him again... real good and real well.
"I only really make a habit of annoying one browndrider. And that is you. There isn't anyone else that's worth it. You're just... too much fun... and a special sort of brownrider. So, even if you don't know it... I've got a soft spot just for you... Though... I wouldn't think that you'd care one bit." She grinned and turned back towards him, biting his lip before turning back around, hands still behind her back and heading down the hallway, though... she was rather hoping to entice him... if only a little bit...

Urg.. he sighed as she rambled on. Really, what had he done to garner such attention from some murderous woman? Well, perhaps she had heard rumor about his dislike of the female population. Yes, that must be it. This was all a clever ploy to annoy him into leaving Trelis. Ha! Now that he had it all figured out it would only be a matter of time before she grew bored and left him to his own devices once more. Of course a kiss was not usually the way to force someone to leave. Well shard it all, she was doing it just to be a thorn in his side, nothing more, nothing less. He blinked stupidly at her while he sorted out his thoughts.
"Wonderful, I've attracted the attention of the Pillow Girl. Aren't I proud of myself now." The sarcasm was thick, but likely bareable; he wasn't quite sure what to make of her now. She had been rather forward in the baths as well, but she had at least given his personal space some respect at the time. This, though... He scoffed as she turned around and attempted something a second time, though he took a step back to avoid the worst of whatever it was she had planned to do. He wore a look of complete disapproval as he watched her turn to leave. A hand moved up to rub at the spot where she had nipped him, a subconscious action because of the faint sting.
"Is this the part where I'm suposed fall for your 'charm' and become your little pet?" He asked her retreating form, scowling. Another huff of annoyance escaped him as he tried to figure out her true goal in seeking him out. oh well, maybe if he didn't follow her she would leave him alone. "Stupid woman keeping me from my paperwork..." He mumbled as he turned back towards his own door.

She just chuckled rather darkly, though it was not the deepest sound, quite admittedly. "Well... to earn my attentions unsolicited... you do have to be rather... special. And unfortunately for you... I, at least, think you are." Her faint smile. "I don't know that it has ever happened more than once before..." She hummed softly.
She laughed, a sound that nearly came out as a giggle, not quite bells, but soft and not completely unpleasant. "No... if you did give into my 'charms' as you put it... then what would be the fun in that? Hmm...? Besides... to be attracted to someone... doesn't mean you necessarily have to like them. And besides that. I am not looking for a pet, J'degar." The last was much more serious than the rest as she turned to look at him, something in her eyes dark and far away.
She hated to admit it but he had captured her interest and she was certain that, though there seemed to be no one to be jealous of, she was at least irritated by the lack of the return of his attentions. Though... she herself didn't realize the fact.
She ran a hand through her hair, shaking it back over her shoulder in a long golden, slightly curled stream, her blue eyes looking at him with what could only be described as... What could it be described as? It wasn't dark. Not light. Not longing or loving... But... almost pleading? She hated herself the moment that she felt a pleading and turned looking at the wall and smiling warmly at Anori. He really was the only male in her life that she could count on and always had been and, in her personal opinion, ever would. Whatever. She and Analiese didn't need a man around, though she would love for her daughter to have a father.
She turned again, running her fingers along the wall as she started to walk slowly away, all of her seductive sway gone for the moment.

"I don't know whether I should consider that a compliment or not..." His voiced wavered uncertainly. She was being... odd. Not that he really knew her, they had only just met recently, but from what he HAD seen of her, this... this seemed off. It was unnerving. He shifted uncomfortably and looked away from her as her voice took on a serious tone. He didn't know how to respond, not at all. Why in the world was she being so clingy to him of all people. If he 'gave in' to her would she leave him alone? Somehow he felt she would know it was a ruse.
When he finally glanced back at her he was shocked to see the expression on her face. It didn't look right on her, he mused. Was it another ploy to force him into whatever game she was playing? Or was it sincere.
"Oh look, she can actually be normal for once." He commented as she walked away, noting that for once she moved without a playful sway to her hips. Though his words might have been harsh, it could be possible to notice the slight edge of concern hidden there.
{Sorry... short...}

"Yes. I can be serious. Very serious. But I'm sure it is unnerving. After all. You hardly know me, but what you have seen is the playful seductress who seems to want nothing but to undermine you. But I assure you. What is ploy and what is real is very... backwards in life. How I act is a sham, one that I'm sure you think is real and think me quite stupid because of it." She said no more for a long moment, just standing there, looking over her shoulder, all pretense dropped to show a very plain expression, full of seriousness... It would be disconcerting. Even more so as there was a sort of deep sadness. She was young... but she had seen way more than she liked to admit of the world and its hardships. And she would do anything it took to ensure her child did not suffer those same hardships. And there was more than that... She was in the process of trying to lift herself up out of this... This... whatever it was and into a new life. One that she just could not quite grasp the reality of. Men were everywhere - ruling over women.
"J'degar. I know that you don't hate women... or even necessarily dislike them... you want to protect them. There should be more like you. Not that I approve your methods or even agree with you on everything. But I have seen it... I'm sorry... It is just..." She turned away quickly and walked briskly, her shoulders back, her walk straight, authoritative as she made a retreat. She had been speaking with Tikrin a bit too much. That was all. The man was good at observation. And being around him was fun. She liked to try to challenge him. He was strangely, even frighteningly, intelligent. And Anori rather liked Rave, his blue firelizard.
She had flirted with him. She almost felt... guilty for that now... She had even considered pursuing him. But he wasn't worth it either. And she felt the guilt deep in her heart. All her mistakes. She still walked with her head high. She would continue this way. For now at least. Shame and mistakes meant nothing in the end. They could teach you... or destroy you. And they would nto destroy her.

Well, didn't she like to state the obvious. Stupid cocky woman! J'degar grumbled to himself as she spoke, explaining every fiber of her being as if he cared. Just because her sham was stupid didn't mean she was? Doubtful. And idiot is an idiot, no matter how many facades they try to hide behind. Wasn't the fact she was trying to 'hide her true self' proof of her idiocy? J'degar rolled his eye.
"Don't talk like you know me woman." he snapped back, the smallest hint of red appearing on his cheeks. He didn't need some annoying brat telling him she approved of his protective nature. This was why he 'hated' women; they always thought they knew everything. And that uppity mindset was what got them all killed eventually too. At least Assaila had a relatively safe life here; she wasn't off trying to get a dragon or anything. He was annoyed now though. Talking a few steps he reached out and grabbed hold of a sleeve before realizing that it could be misinterpreted about him caring (Faranth forbid). That wasn't it though, he would tell himself.
"Do you make a habit of being rude woman. You come up here, distract me from my work, and do you don't even off a pleasant farewell?" He huffed, dropping her sleeve and looking away. "Manners! These Trelis women know no manners." Perhaps ot was because she didn't just yell at him, or perhaps because she actually seemed to understand a little bit about him, but... at the very least he felt bad about leaving off with her in such a seemingly poor mood. "That walk makes you look like you took it up the arse..." Oh he was the KING of flattery wasn't he.

She looked at him seriously, studying him, quiet, unmoving, her face schooled, betraying no emotion, though the slightest trickle of fear threatened to make her tremble and it may have well shown in her eyes. Yes. He had frightened her, but... Fear was not going to stop her. Fear was just a part of human nature. It was healthy to feel it. She had upset him... She had known she would eventually. But she had not foreseen it being now or in this way... She frowned. "Rude, hmm...? I'm sorry if I was rude, but to be perfectly honest, of the two of us, I am not the only one who has been rude." She crossed her arms looking at him, the slightest quiver to her fingers as she looked at him, her blue eyes becoming hard and guarded, sinking back to the depths she tried to hide behind.
"I don't know you that well. But I have spoken to those who do. Do you think I live a solitary life where I have not heard of you?" She studying him seriously and her brown, now coiled and hissing protectively on her shoulder looked at him with eyes full of alarm. He had dared to grab His! No one grabbed His like that! Assaila reached up slowly and ran her hand soothingly along the flitters back. Anori took to purring and rubbing against it for a moment before settling, his eyes still whirling uneasily.
She looked at him with a half smile. "Rude because I come to interrupt you without a pleasant farewell? And what would you call a pleasant farewell?" She rolled her eyes. "I should slap you for that one. But I won't." She crossed her arms, and looked at him indignantly. "Don't blame Trelis women for my seeming lack of manners, Brownrider." She was still looking at him, her teeth clenched to some extent. She was not leaving now until she at least got an apology from him... or he... or she figured out exactly what he wanted.. or however that worked. She felt a certain ache at her core which told her something was up with her. Though she continued to deny what that something could possibly be.
She hoped Annaliese was alright and having a good time with the other children right now... Her daughter often slipped into her mind and it sent a certain calm and a feeling of immense love upon her.

It it weren’t for her sudden, absolute quiet J’degar likely wouldn’t have noticed the tiny flash of fear in her eyes. Sure, women normally stared at him with contempt, hatred, loathing, occasionally lust if he got lucky during a flight… but never fear. It caused him to jolt back suddenly feeling ashamed of himself, his mouth hanging open stupidly as he tried to find something to say. An apology would likely suffice, J’degar. Syphraelth’s voice was amused in the back of his mind. Finally, a low sigh escaped him and he crossed his arms, making sure to avoid looking at her as he spoke.
“I…” He started, fighting with himself, “You might be annoying sometimes but you didn’t deserve that… It’s… I’m just a dumb old rider with a sore spot in the past.” He tried to joke, though his tone held nothing but sorrow as the through of his late wife passed through his head. Shards he hated apologizing, so she had better appreciate it! He huffed to himself indignantly. Then she had to go and say something stupid again. His face became as red as a tomato for just a moment as he realized what she thought he had meant.
“What? Slapped for saying goodb… No! You! You perverted woman! Get… Get your head out of the furs!” He retorted, suddenly wary of her. Didn’t she ever have normal thoughts? Or was this just her way of getting back at him for his outburst? He turned away from her and began storming off himself, grumbling to himself about ‘stupid misunderstanding women and their stupid minds’. He needed klah. Yes, a nice cup of fellis filled klah to erase this from his memories.

Assaila stared at him for a long moment. "Thank you... for the apology. It really means a lot to me... More than you probably know." She said softly, a soft somewhat crooked smile forcing its way to her face. She didn't laugh. Just the smile was all she showed of her appreciation for his joke. She was looking off to the side, feeling the tears in her eyes...
And of course, then she had to speak without thinking... She repeatedly called herself a rush of profanities in her mind, but didn't speak a word. She ran to catch up with him. "I'm sorry! NO man has ever said anything like that to me without it being perverse! I didn't mean to upset you! J'degar!" She was running after him, though her skirts made it a bit... well, harder. She was sure he was going to be quite angry with her by now.
She was just a screw up and everything she did she, well, screwed up! Mentally, her mind still called her all kinds of names and she was truly embarrassed when she felt her eyes sting as if she might cry. She wanted to plead with him. he would never speak to her again - no matter what, she was sure. Oh! she was so STUPID!
Anori dissapeared to Annaliese then. Stupid flitter had left her on her own!
((Sorry it's short... ;-; ))

Oh Faranth now she was being stupid and sappy! That wasn't much better than when she was upset! J'degar remained silent through her pathetically feminine show of appreciation. What was he supposed to do now? Reach out and console her or something? No. That wasn't going to happen. As he was walking away he hadn't expected her to follow him. In fact, he had been counting on her just standing there like a blabbering idiot while he made his escape. He turned to stare at her as if she had suddenly grown two extra heads and a few arms to boot. "Have you completely lost your marbles woman? Geez, you say soemthing nice to a woman and suddenly they turn into blathering idiots." He stopped for her to catch up, giving her a hard, mildly annoyed stare.
"I thought you might have had some brains in there Pillow Girl. Perhaps I was silly to have given you benefit of the doubt." He snorted, "It will take more than a perverted comment to anger a rider, girl. Crying, on the other hand..." He crossed his arms, though remained where he was in the hoeps she would stop freaking out. He couldn't handle this. THIS right here was the reason he disliked women being in true working positions. They were too unstable!
Pardon the intrusion, young one... Syphraelth's voice slid smoothly into Assaila's mind, tentitive as he spoke, as if afraid she would not take kindly to being invaded by dragonspeak. J'degarMine is not angry with you, he is simply unsure of how to proceed. Social interactions are not his strong point. J'degar was left completely unaware of his own dragon's intentions.
