Candidate Barracks

The candidate barracks are on the lowest level of the Weyr. Being next to the lower caverns, it is easiest this way for the candidates to move to their chores without disrupting riders or handlers. The barracks are separated into two halves. On one side, the male candidates are kept, and on the other is where the female candidates are. Often, they are then separated into rooms with two to three roommates. Each barrack opens up close to the hatching sands so that the candidates can easily access the area for lessons and the hatching itself.
