The Island:
The Island is a sub-tropical land mass about the size of Hawaii. It has a mountain range arcing across the length of it, in the middle of which Trelis resides. The rest of the island is covered in lush tropical forests, rolling hills, rivers, waterfalls, and beautiful caverns.
Trelis River:
Trelis River, what the Weyr was named after, goes the length of the island along with the mountain range. Stemming from a delta to the North, it runs down the hills and mountains in a mixture of waterfalls, rivers, streams and small ponds. Once it reaches the Weyr though it branches off into two seperate entities. The river is filled with Sunfish, shiny gold and pink fish that are similar to salmon.
Dark-Sun Caves:
The Dark-Sun Caves are located among the cliffs on the Western shore. They hold much of the firestone that Trelis uses along with other minerals and gems. Their name came from the sight of rays of sunlight seeping through an opening in the top of the largest cave and bouncing off the walls throughout the rest of the caverns. Because of this phenomenon it is fairly lighted and the stones often glow a dim golden color.
Crescent Bay:
Crescent Bay is the main beach that Trelis' inhabitants go to. It is a large crescent shape stretch of pure white sand. Off the shore, in the middle of the Bay, is a coral reef where people can dive for shells and sea glass.
The Grasslands
The grasslands are on the outer portions of the island, as well on the portions closest to the mountains. Often the grasslands are not flat except for right next to the cliffs. Instead they are gently rolling hills that have seas of long grasses and wild flowers for miles upon miles.
Tropical Forests
All around the island are tropical forests filled with lush foilage and wild animals. These forests can be thin with only a few trees, to incredibly dense in the middle of the island, especially around the Weyr.
The Ocean:
The Ocean surrounding Trelis is a light, clear blue color. Even near the shore one can see all the way to the bottom and there is no hint of murkiness at all. It's a common place for dragons and whers to go to bathe and swim.
