It was so quiet now. So very quiet despite all the new residents that were coming to the Weyr. Ara couldn't believe how many there were, and she already had three more people in her room. A brother and sister and another girl. She sighed, dropping her head into her hands. Weyrling lessons were canceled for the time being, at least till the arrangements had gone underway for a full sevenday. That left the weyrlingmaster with a whole lot of time on her hands.
The greenrider pulled her legs closer to her, letting her head fall back against the books in the shelf. The record room had always been a place of comfort for her. How many times had she hidden among the shelves when she was younger? Especially after she found out the greenrider wasn't her mother and she had impressed Avirith. Those memories came back now, one in particular on her sleeping curled up in the green's side and below her wing.
I was smaller then, but always big enough to protect you.
Ara smiled slightly at this then the movement faltered and slipped just as easily. She was trying not to think of her....poor Leotie without a mother too. At least she knew Kierah though and remembered her...everyone at the Weyr seemed to be mourning the WeyrHarper's loss. The rider shifted to curl in between two shelves running perpendicular to each other, the nook they created was perfect for her.
It felt like an embrace of sorts.
Maerath. Call Yours please. If I can't reach her now, at least he can.
