Kierah nodded to the nearest harper to start the first song. Taking a breath, the man played a few notes and was soon accomplanied by the others. Smiling, the dancer got to her feet, standing on the very tips. Dancing and singing was her life, and events like this was what she lived for. Other than her own daughter of course. The four turn old was nearby as usual, playing with Chime-Bell, Symphony and Tenor nearby. The three flits flew right over though as their real owner called for them. Humming slightly, Kierah moved into the dance floor and started to twist her body to the rythm.
It was fast and wonderful, the dim lighting in the tent sending mysterious shadows on her figure. Pulling a random man into the center with her, she slowed down her movements and brought him into the dance with her. He seemed awkward though, so she quickly let him go and chose another watcher. This one at least moved better and they quickly brought someone else into the fray to dance as well. Soon there were a few couples on the floor, and Kierah danced her way to the edge of the floor to take a brake and kiss Leotie's forehead. This was her job, starting the fun and getting people involved.

The song was quick and light when J’dol first arrived at the dancing square. With the cooling air, the young man had finally put on a shirt, though with the way it hung open loosely it was a wonder he wore it at all. Looking about, he noticed one of his reasons for being there – Ara – was nowhere in sight. Not surprising really, Jaks wouldn’t be surprised if she avoided the square all night. Well, her loss really, she would just have to put up with him at the feast later on anyway. He walked around the square, listening to the music and swaying slightly as he moved. Kayath rested just out of the way of the dancers, close enough that J’dol could keep an eye on her, but far enough away that she wouldn’t get in the way. Feeling playful, Bit and Spazz both took to the air, chasing each other back and forth through the sky in time to the music, creating a rather amusing sight when they started adding in spins and flips.
Glancing about again, he found a nice young lady sitting off to the side and quickly invited her to dance, pleased at the immediate agreement. He grinned and spun her around with the beat, delighting in the way she lit up with happiness. This was what he loved about dancing, and the reason he was glad he was moderately skilled at it. The song soon ended, and he bade farewell to the girl, chuckling as she ran off to find her friends. With a quick stretch of his muscles, he made his way over to the refreshments, grabbing something to drink while he waited for another lucky lady, or man for that matter, to become available for a dance. With any luck, Ara would show up.

Ara had wanted to come and dance, but the idea of meeting her weyrling there made her antsy. She didn't really not want to, but she couldn't exactly say that now could she? Sighing the greenrider gave up and headed over. The song had just ended, but another quickly took up in its place. Seeing her teacher, Ara went over to Kierah and Leotie. "May I have this dance." The greenrider bent low to the young girl and extended out a hand. The young weyrbrat smiled widely and took it, spinning as Ara spun her. "Come on now. Hey! Strike up one of those fast songs!" The tune quickly changed from slower to upbeat, Ara moving to the rythm quickly enough.
Leotie moved with her, using the simpler steps to Ara's more graceful ones. She after all wasn't nearly as good as her mother or this rider. Leotie's harper gifts ranged more on the drawing arts than anything else. Spinning around once again, Ara let her eyes briefly linger on J'dol's form. A dance to celebrate wasn't that bad now was it? Nothing would ever come of this, Ara knew better. One dance though? Crooking her finger at the boy, Ara continued to flow with the rhythm till he came over. After all, she did have a few drinks since they last met. Perhaps that was what made her so forward now. You think?

Ah, there she was. J'dol smiled as his teacher cam into view and he was more than happy to watch her dance with a young girl. He noticed that despite dancing with someone significantly younger, Ara showed a lot of skill in dance. More than he did, J'dol realized, but at least he would be able to keep up without too much difficulty; or so he hoped. Regardless, dancing with her would be a fun way to spend the evening, assuming of course that he managed to rope her into it.
A movement from the woman caught his attention, at first confusing him. He glanced to either side of him subtly, trying to figure out who she had been summoning, but there was no one else she could have been motioning to. Confused, J'dol raised an eyebrow but put down his drink and began walking towards her anyway. Hadn't she been against dancing with him? Well, he may as well go ask anyways. He grinned as he pulled up beside her and another song began. Once again it was light with a quick beat, and while J'dol would have preferred something slower, a fast dance was likely the better option if he wanted to dance with his elusive teacher. Maybe if he was lucky enough to get one dance, another would follow. He held out a hand and grinned at the greenrider.
"What do you say Ara," He asked, "Will you share a dance with me?"

Ara smiled and laughed, blushing as J'dol asked her after she so obviously had already said yes. It was so unlike her that Kierah had to hide a chuckle as the harper watched. Moving to take the weyrling's hand, Ara led him into the first parts of the dance. A twirl here, a few steps here. She made sure to do the easier version just incase he wasn't familiar with the dances. Not to mention you're too out of it to really know them either. The greenrider rolled her eyes and sent a mental push toward her dragoness. She didn't need her fun to be ruined right now! Instead, she didn't want to think about duties. She didn't want to think about the fact that she was the weyrling master and this was a weyrling. She didn't want to think about the fact that she was a Senior rider and should be paying more heed to the rules. She just wanted to have fun and dance. After all, other weyrlings were dancing too, and she had when she was at their stage. A dance didn't hurt anything. The greenrider seriously doubted, even in her hazy state, that a simple dance could cause enough strange emotions to unsettle Kayath. "You're not half bad as a partner J'dol."

Normally, J’dol would have jumped on the chance to comment on a blushing girl, usually using some quick comment or a bit of wit to make the blush grow and, hopefully, woo her. Yet, he could not with this lady, she was, all things considered, out of bounds. Instead, he would have to settle on just a dance. Until he graduated at least. The thought made him grin, though to anyone looking it would seem as if he was grinning at the woman in his arms. He let Ara lead in the dance, more than happy to follow the steps, which were simple enough.
“You’re aren’t too shabby yourself Ara,” He replied, his voice full of fun and humor as he enjoyed the dance. However, he had the feeling the greenrider was more skilled on the dance floor than she was showing and when the opportunity arose he attempted to take control, planning to give her a light spin and a dip at the end. Leaning close he spoke quietly to her.
“This isn’t so bad, now it is?”

The greenrider wasn't too surprised when the weyrling tried to take control again. With a soft smirk she allowed it, letting him twist her. She wasn't expecting the sudden dip at the end, though she should have been. He was close...so very close. Was it so bad? "No it isn't....that doesn't change anything though love." Quickly bending around in a swift movement, Ara attempted to get out of his arms. She masked it for the most part with a beginning move into the next dance. This one slightly slower. However, it was more heartbreaking than romantic. She knew this song. It was one of her favorites, an old tune that's dance was based off of a rider's last flight with her dragon.
Seeing Kierah nearby, she moved into it. The two, rider and harper, twisted around and dipped together. The song continued, the flute being played hovering over their winding bodies. Then it was done and another, more sweet and loving tune was played. Breathing heavily from her trio of dances, Ara glanced over at J'dol wherever he had gotten to. "I remember when I first learned...my mo...a green rider taught me." The rider had to stop herself from calling the woman her mother. She hadn't been in the biological sense, though she was in the more mental one. Her real parents had died at sea when she had been young, causing her most of her memory of that age and before.
Sobered a bit more now, Ara held out her hand again for J'dol to take. "Want to dance again? Or are you already getting tired?" It was nice to just flirt and be happy in a friend's companionship. Yes, that's what she'd think while this was going on. My dear Ara. You're fooling yourself.

J’dol let out a light chuckle as Ara slipped out of his grasp, impressed at how smooth the movements she made was. He watched her twist away in time to the music. The tune was easily recognizable, but until he impressed Kayath he had never been fond of the music, unable to truly understand the sorrow of the piece. With the topaz now connected to him, the song suddenly seemed to take on a whole new level of emotion, and he felt a little guilty for having disliked the tune before. Keeping an eye on Ara and Kierah as they danced, entranced by the sheer beauty of the movements, he moved over to grab a drink, though he made sure he was still within distance of his weyrlingmaster. He was a bit amazed at the greenrider’s energy, since he was feeling the efforts of just that one dance. He enjoyed the break, but severely hoped he would be able to steal another dance with her when she finished this song.
He clapped lightly as the two finished their dance and waited anxiously for the next song to start up, hoping for something upbeat and quick, since he doubted Ara would allow him to dance with her to something slow. “Your teacher must have been amazing.” J’dol commented, though he was curious about the slight slip of her tongue, but now was not the time to worry about it unless she commented on her own. His face fell a bit when the song that began was sweet, loving, and a fair bit slower than he had been hoping for. Yet, Ara held her hand out in invitations. “I would love another dance.” He replied, taking her hand in his and moving closer for the dance, though he made it clear that she could lead if she wanted. “Besides, my dear, it’ll take a lot more than that to tire me out.”

K'lin smiled drunkenly as he stumbled upon the dancing tent. He had had a few too many drinks of wine, and was now up for just about anything. He walked through the croud of people, with a lot more grace than one would expect of someone who was drunk. Mine, Avirith and Her's are here, as well as Kayath and Her's. The man didn't really pay attention to the last part of his dragon's words, he was more interested in finding the green rider.
K'lin smiled broadly when he finally found Ara, he was even a little happy to see J'dol. I bag your pardons, but may I steal this dance? He bowed low to both of them, and the only sign that he had been drinking, was the slight glassy look of his eyes. Other than that, it would just seem like the man was having a good time. Bearith on the other hand, was more than happy to sit outside the tent in the company of Avirith and Kayath. While His was more interested in the attention of the green's rider.
Greetings Avirith and Kayath. He bowed his blue head, revealing his single marking, as he spoke to the two females. He straightened, and rustled his wings before sitting down, and wrapping his tail around him comfortably. The blue dragon turned his swirling eyes from one female to the other, sizing each one up. Kayath was still smaller than the green, but not by much. Both of the females were pretty in the blue dragon's eyes, so he though himself pretty lucky at that moment.

Oh he did NOT just move in on his woman. No way. Not today brother! J’dol’s eyes narrowed slightly, not particularly wanting to give up such a wonderful opportunity to dance with Ara; an opportunity that likely wouldn’t come around again. He glanced back and forth between Ara and K’lin for a moment before deciding on what to do. It would likely get him into trouble… but hell, he had been on his best behavior for a while now. His eyes glinted mischievously as he reached out to grab K’lin’s arm with the intent on pulling him close.
“I would LOVE to dance Sir” He said jovially, with only the slightest hint of annoyance in his voice. He couldn’t be angry though, since it was a gather and everyone was free to dance with whomever they liked. On the plus side… K’lin was pretty cute… He wondered how the man would react to having the topaz rider hit on him. He would have to consider it at least.
Why, hello Bearith, Kayath crooned as the blue settled himself nearby. She ruffled her wings slightly, trying to make the light reflect off her beautiful hide. You’re looking quite dashing this evening.

Ara turned around quickly as K'lin arrived behind her. "Oh. Hello there." The greenrider smiled, a bit more coyly than she had been giving J'dol. She saw the way he turned toward her, the way he looked at her. Then she heard the words. She should have known that he was going to ask her, they had been flirting off and on it seemed throughout weyrling lessons. With as boring as that got occasionally, she wasn't surprised. Just as she was about to say something though, J'dol took his arm instead. Trying to cover up the laugh, Ara failed and had to put her hand against her mouth. "Oh, I'm sorry. I don't think he was wanting you though J'dol." Wow, this weyrling just kept trying to put himself with his teachers didn't he?
Getting a quick thought, Ara looked over at the band and made a hurrying motion. Nodding back to her, they struck up a faster variation mid-tune. "Better. Now, how about we learn to share." Well, it had been an idea that she had used before. The greenrider smirked at the memory of Ad'os and S'val both in her bed after Avirith's mating flight. Well, she certainly was becoming more outgoing. Good! It's about time you got up and danced. Ignoring her green for now, the rider moved herself around to K'lin's other side. Moving to place her hands on his hips, she pulled a certain way...if he'd go along with this crazy idea. It was a three person dance she was trying to teach....one she didn't have too much experience in.
Avirith meanwhile looked over at Kayath as the slightly smaller Topaz crooned to the blue. Bearith seemed to love the attention he was getting, but Avirith hated it. Not because she didn't like attention on her, oh Faranth no, she just didn't like to share it. She wasn't about to have a hissy-fit though. No, Avirith was more subtle than that....usually. Good Evening to you as well Bearith. My charge is right, you do look well today. Shining really, did Yours oil your hide before coming? Mine did to me as well. Avirith stretched out her wings then to show off the glistening look. The pull was slightly uncomfortable still, but it wasn't so bad. She had been able after all to fly in her wing earlier. Moving to nudge Kayath away slightly, the green turned her head. I thought I saw Etuth over there little one. Perhaps you'd like to talk to him? He is growing into such a handsome young bronze. In the meantime, perhaps Bearith and I could go on a little flight? Avirith moved around the blue, snaking her tail perhaps around him loosely like a Gold around her clutch.

K'lin smiled at Ara when she greeted him, and she was about to say something else when he felt someone pull on his arm. He stared wide eyed as the weyrling pulled his arm, and pulled him closer. The twenty-five turn old man ran a single hand through his spiky brown hair, before smiling mischievously at J'dol. Why not, it's a gather after all! Alright, there it was, there was the proof that K'lin was drunk. Normally he wouldn't allow himself to dance with another male on any circumstance.
K'lin had to look up at J'dol, but he didn't mind, Height wasn't something that really bothered the man. One thing that did bother him a little was the fact that he was the boy's teacher, even though, he hoped he would probably never find himself in this situation ever again. He turned his smokey blue gaze on Ara when she spoke. He had noticed that the band had picked up the pace, but he wasn't sure what she meant by sharing. He let her pull him where she wanted him, though, he still wasn't sure what was going on.
Bearith's quickly swirling gaze was a mix of azure blue, and emerald green, as he watched the two females in front of him. He turned his attention to Kayath when she crooned to him, and rumbled happily at the attention he was getting. Thank you Kayath, you are looking beautiful as well. His voice was freshly baked apple pie sweet, much like normal, but this time, it sounded a tad bit deeper than normal. Probably because he was over-joyed by the fact that he was in the company of two very beautiful females.
Bearith turned his swirling gaze on Avirith when she addressed him. There was something about the way she spoke, and the way she moved that gave the blue male the impression that she was trying to take his attention away from Kayath. It seemed to him that she didn't want Kayath to have his attention at all, and he wondered what would happen if he continued to give the topaz some acknowledgement. He crooned to both of the females as he contemplated what he would do next.
Thank you Avirith, Mine did oil me before we came. Your's did very well when she oiled you. Your hide is shining magnificently. He bowed his head once again to the green, and once again, revealing the broken heart shaped marking that was normally hidden on top of his head. He watched as the green nudged the topaz away, and told her about the bronze weyrling. Then Avirith moved so that she was beside him, and was talking about going for a flight.
Bearith crooned quietly to the green, then turned his attention to the young topaz to see what she would do. He had a feeling that he needed to be very careful with what he did from that point on. He didn't need these two females becoming angry with each other because they were trying to fight over his attention, especially since there were plenty of other younger males that Kayath could try and impress.
