Task hid beneath the overhand of the hatching sands. The wherhold was quiet for now, and the green mother was egg-heavy. At late night, almost early dawn, Rukbat was only starting to show her colors on the horizon. The wher hissed slightly at the light and slid further into the shadows. She hummed a bit as she moved around, making quick work of her mission. She needed to finish this before the night was over!
Finally, right when morning broke, the last of the eggs was laid. She looked back on them, crooning happily. That wild brown had given her a fine clutch of four eggs. One was extremely tiny, while there were two small ones and a medium sized one as well. She nudged the smallest, curious as to if it would turn dud. Only time would tell though.
Looking around, she crept away from the little bit of sunlight streaking across the den entrance. Shadows were better, they changed one form of the world into another. Outside in the wherhold, Tarin was yawning wide. Her green had gone to eat before bed as she had, and now the green handler was returning to her quarters. Calling out, she waited to hear Task. The green answered from farther off though.
Widening her eyes, Tarin ran out to the sands and stopped mid-stride. She could barely make out Task in one of the dens, but she was there. SandEggs laid. Clutch good, Task good. Nodding, Tarin breathed a sigh of relief.
(ooc: Lobask will add her clutching post a few IC days later once her run is finished.)

Lobask growled as she slowly made her way into the den. From what she could smell there was another female down there. At least she didn't have to be alone. She crooned softly before setting herself to work in her chosen den. She was glad that she still had a couple of hours before the sun rose. It was a cool night, and Lobask had decided to dig a little hole for her and her eggs. Yes, that's right, this green was egg-heavy and was ready to clutch. Lobask was ready for the weight to be gone, and her job as mother to be over with. She wrapped herself around her three eggs, and crooned gently. Lobask done, other egg too? She was trying to see if the other female that was done there would answer her. Though, she had to admit, she was pretty tired, and wouldn't blame the other wher if she just wanted some piece and quite. At least this gave the females a small vacation from their duties around the Weyr.
