Akira shook her head as she brought her food out of the dining hall. She didn't want to be inside with all those people. Most of whom she's never met before. She smiled when she saw her blue dragon sitting by the kitchen wall, waiting for her. I brought some food Oridith. Her voice was light, and happy as she spoke to her dragon. Who crooned as she approached him. Oridith watched as His sat down next to him. He wrapped his speckled tail around her, and let her lean against him. Akira smiled, and tore up the meat that she had brought with her, and started handing pieces of it to her dragon, and firelizard. Blue was sitting comfortably on Oridith's head, and it appeared as though the dragon really didn't care that his smaller blue cousin was sitting on his head. Akira rolled her eyes at the two. Both of them had become close friends since Oridith's hatching, and neither of them could be seen without the other one close by. Kikimine, why don't we go see the other's? Oridith licked the remaining bits of food from his jaws as he spoke. Akira sighed and shook her head. Let's just eat Ori, then we'll see about going to see the others. The two of them were practically perfect opposites. Where Oridith was sociable, and friendly, Akira was stand-offish, and anti-social. She really did wonder what it was about her that made this dragon pick her over the more friendly candidates.

(Hi! hope it's cool if I just dive in!)
Daren whistled as he walked, his mind not really on his destination, but his feet carrying him automatically towards the smells of lunch. He was further egged on by the sensations of simply starving to death Beezle was sending him, though he'd grown used to that over the turns. Still, it was difficult to miss a meal with that sort of reminder. The last thing the little blue creature would do would be to allow his human to go hungry.
A new image, this time of an empty dining cavern, bereft of both people and things to eat, entered Daren's mind. Tragically empty plates, with only a few well-picked bones littered the tables, but that was all. The sensation of loss and a sort of smug disappointment accompanied the image.
"Now you're just being silly," he laughed at the firelizard who chittered in vehiment denial at the accusation. Beezle launched himself from Daren's shoulder and began circling overhead wtill cheeping.
"You keep that up, and I'll make you find your own lunch!"
An outraged squawk was the only reply, and they continued along their way toward the dining caverns. Daren spotted the weyrling and her blue sitting together outside the caverns, and so did Beezle. The little blue firelizard cheeped a pleasant greeting and dove down to land near the girl, his little eyes looking bright and hopeful as he continued cheeping and chittering in an appealing manner.
The sensation he sent Daren was decidedly smug and the image the glass-smith received was of Beezle growing fat off the food given to him by others. Shaking his head in amusement, Daren hurried to rescue the girl from his wayward pet.

Akira scratched her blue's eye ridges, making the small male croon happily. Blue chirped, and chittered at her for disrupting his peace, and slid down the larger blue's back so that he was laying comfortably on Oridith's head. She giggled at her firelizard, and shook her head. Oh come on now, don't be like that, get back here. Her voice was stern, but still playful as she spoke to the little flit. He peaked around the dragon's neck to stare at His, and uttered one chirp.
Akira shook her head at the firelizard, and swatted Oridith's neck when the dragon decided to laugh at them. She tore a peice of meat from her steak, and handed the small chunk to her blue firelizard. Blue crooned and flew to her shoulder, grabbing the meat from her and quickly scarfed it down. She took a bigger piece, and handed it to her dragon. Oridith crooned and gratefully ate the piece of meat, though, their quiet meal was interupted when they heard something cheep at them.
Akira looked down in surprise as another firelizard landed next to her, and seemed to ask her for food. Blue peared down at the other blue firelizard, and chirped at him. It was as if he was asking the other male what he wanted. I think he wants to be fed Kikimine. Oridith lowered his large head so that he was almost eye level with the blue flit, and sniffed him. He shook his head, and sat back up. It didn't smell like any of the other firelizards they know.
Akira looked up when she heard someone walking towards them. I take it this is your firelizard? Her voice was polite, but unemotional all the same. She didn't do well with strangers, and the fact that she hadn't ever seen this man before, didn't help the matter. Blue on the other hand was more than happy to see another blue firelizard around that he could play with. He flew down to land beside the other male, and chirped playfully at him.

Daren watched as Beezle garnered the attention of both the blue weyrling and another blue firelizard and grinned a bit.
"Yes, this rascal is mine. I'm sorry if he's bothering you, bluerider." He couldn't place the weyrling's name, though he was sure he'd seen her before. At the Hatching at any rate, he always enjoyed attending those that he could over the nearly five turns he'd been at the Weyr. "His name is Beezle and mine is Daren."
On the ground, Beezle was chittering happily back at the other little blue, completely ignoring both humans.

Akira nodded her head at the man's words. No, he's fine. I've grown used to firelizards dropping by. Most of them I recognize, and no by name, but I don't think I've ever seen this one before. She looked down at the firelizard in question as she spoke. Blue was a social flit, and his friends often stopped by looking for the blue flit. She stood up so that she could greet the man properly. After all, he was older than her, and she had always been taught to properly greet her elders.
I'm Akira, this dragonet is Oridith, and the firelizard is Blue. Her voice was calm and respectful as she reached out to shake the man's hand. Whether or not he returned the gesture was up to him. Oridith crooned when His introduced him. He stood and gently nuzzled his way under Akira's hands. He nodded his head at the man, not really knowing if it was ok to talk to him. Sure he openly talked to his siblings' humans, or even the Weyrwoman, and Weyrleader.
Blue trilled playfully at the other male. He was wagging his tail like a canine, and couldn't believe his luck. He had a new friend to play with!!!! Maybe he knew where to find something shiny that he could "liberate" from it's owner, and bring back to His. He liked bringing things to Akira, but didn't quite understand why he got in trouble every time he did it. Oh well, doesn't matter, he still steals things.

"It's nice to meet you, Akira. You as well, blue Oridith." Daren shook the girl's hand and nodded in greeting to the young dragon. It was always a good idea, he'd found, to be polite to dragonkind, even if one didn't call a weyr home.
"You've probably missed Beezle around the Weyr because when he isn't eating, he's sleeping and when he isn't sleeping, he's eating."
Beezle, of course, ignored this teasing with great aplomb, his attention split between Blue who wanted to play and the now unattended plate which still had food on it. He chirruped at Blue, nudging the other toward the lonely plate and the beckoning food.

Akira nodded her head, knowing only too well what he was talking about. I know what you mean. Though, Blue has a nasty habit of disappearing, then showing up with something he's stolen. She looked down at the flit in question, who only wagged his tail, and trilled some more. He thought this was all just one giant, delightful game! Akira shook her head, and rolled her eyes at the blue firelizard.
Greetings Daren. Oridith's deep voice was sweet and playful as he spoke to the man. He wasn't sure how the man would react, or how His would react for that matter. Akira gently scratched the small blue's eye ridges, and he crooned. For now she was happy with him, and that's all he cared about. Well, that and food of course. He was a growing dragon, and needed all the food he could get. Well, ok maybe not that much food, but still.
Blue tilted his head at Beezle, then looked over at the food. He trilled and hopped over to it. His wouldn't mind him sharing, he was sure of it! Well, the thought he was anyways. He used his front claws to grab a piece of meat, and drag it off the plate. He looked over at the other firelizard and chirped. He didn't know if Beezle would share or not, but there was plenty there for everyone, so why not. He crooned encouragingly, and waited to see what the other male would do.

Daren smiled in true delight, it was not often that a dragon spoke to him. Ever, really. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Oridith." The glass-smith wondered if it was the dragon's youth that led to the blue's speaking to him or if he was just a particularly friendly creature. Deciding it couldn't hurt to ask, Daren did just that, "Does he often bespeak others?"
His curiosity over the dragon, lessened his attention to his firelizard. Beezle was taking advantage of this fact, and the invitation by Blue. He cheeped happily, eyes whirling in pleased colors as he gave a short hop. He landed next to Blue and the hunk of meat.

Akira shook her head at the man's words. He hasn't met many people except for the other weyrlings, and our weyrling master. So I'm not sure. She scratched Oridith's blue eye ridges affectionatly as she spoke. She actually felt pretty nice that her dragon had made someone happy. She was so used to hearing the young blue's voice that she had actually forgotten that not all dragons spoke to humans other than their rider.
Blue trilled as his new friend joined him by the chunk of meat. He chirped at the other blue firelizard, as if he was asking if he wanted some or not. He rustled his wings and started trying to tear a bite out of the hunk of steak. It was a tad bit tough, not something the firelizard was used to. He was used to His tearing his meat for him so he didn't have to try to do it himself. He shook himself when his first attempt failed. He growled and then tore at the meat again.
