Panille paced back around the weyrling area. She hadn't every taught weyrlings before, just candidates. Still it couldn't be very different. The green rider had been put in charge of the weyrlings that came with her from Ista. Normally, they would have probably put their clutchmother with them instead of soothe them and their riders. However, with the Obsidianrider needed to fill in for the Junior Weyrwoman's work while Iirla learned, she couldn't be teaching the young riders.
So, the job was placed on Pan. Smiling, the green rider couldn't wait to see the look on their faces. Did they know she had come with them to Trelis? Of course, they had all gone on a boat over here, only the Obsidian and her rider had betweened back with most of the Trelis dragons. Did they know she was going to be teaching them though? Oh, this is going to be fun PanMine.
Pan laughed softly at Iliath's devious croon. ---
SY'KA, SY'KA WAKE UP SY'KA!!! Ohhhhhhh! I know there was supposed to be something I should have told you.....I can't remember though...ummmm...ummmm......hmmmm.
The Istan weyrling shook his head, rolling his dark eyes at the amethyst. She really was sweet and childish most of the time, but not too bright either. Oh well, it was better than a garnet he supposed. He had seen them, and even though at first he had been jealous of the Garnetriders, he soon learned that it wasn't something to be wanted. Not unless you had a reason...still.
MIIIIIIIIINNNNNNEEEE!!!!!!!
Laughing despite himself, Sy'ka nodded his head. He was in a good mood for once which was helping things. Oh, oh, oh! Lesson! That's it. I remember now. "Well, that makes sense. Come on Little Girl." The amethyst crooned at his nickname for her, knowing full well that once they were in a group he'd stop acting so nice. Hers didn't like crowds all that much. That's fine though! I can do the sociamizationalizing!
Sy'ka shook his head. "It's called socializing Itxyth, and no you won't. What you'll be doing, is annoying the shards out of everybody." The amethyst warbled shortly, titling her head to the side while her white marked, dark violet wings hung at her side. Wait...but isn't it a good think if I get shards out of them? Planting his palm against his face, Sy'ka sighed. "You use that term all the time Itxyth. You should know what it means." The amethyst crooned and shrugged her shoulders in response.

Wake up, V'koiMine. The young Opal dragonet spoke softly as he nudged gently against his sleeping rider's cheek. His voice echoed in the young boy's mind, blending in all too easily with the strange dream. Another nudge, this one harder, brought the boy half into confused consiousness. He blinked at the green and white head that loomed over him curiously. Come Mine. It is time to awaken. Life is too short to spend sleeping. Panyth nudged a final time before stepping away from the bed, well aware that His would suddenly understand and jump out of bed. It was a common ritual, and one both human and dragon never seemed to tire of, though they had only been together a short time. As expected, Vek launched himself out of bed.
"Oi Oanyth! Why didn't you wake me sooner! Oh there's so much i want to do today! Did you see that rivier near Trelis? I want to go see the end of it, where it meets the ocean. I wonder what the ocean looks like today, would it be the same as when we came? It was windy then though, is today windy? I didn't like being in the boat with all the rocking. I thought I was going to be sick" He took a breath, his eyes shining brightly, "Oh I can't wait to start! Let's go get breakfast and go!" V'koi had been dressing quickly as he spoke, as always not caring what colour robes he put on, resulting in a wonderful combination of bright red, lime green, and purple. He wondered briefly what he would do if he was ever forced to wear the riding gear. Wouldn't that suck! It wasn't as soft and loose and flowing like his wonderful robes were. He was dressed now, and pulled his shoes on quickly, rambling more about exploring the river. Panyth finally cut him off once he was fully dressed. I would love to see the river Mine, but it will have to wait. There is a lesson, and we must attend if we wish to learn. V'koi blinked stupidly for a moment before a huge smile burst out across his face.
"A lesson! Finally! I can't wait to go! I wonder what we're going to learn! I heard the lessons are hard. I hope so! Difficulty only makes learning more fun!" He skipped gleefully out of the room, Panyth following close behind. As the arrived at the meeting place, his brown flit finally decided to pop in and land on his shoulder, showing off images of the cool places he had seen this morning, including a lovely image of the star stones. Then Aedion chirped curiously, taking off from his perch to fly circles around the person waiting for them at the lesson, sending V'koi an image of not only her as she was now, but an image of her from when they were candidates.
"Panille!" He yelled with a cheer, "Are you our teacher?! I hope so! I so enjoyed your lessons back at Ista! Will they be as fun? Will there be lots of games this time? I heard the others play games sometimes. I don't think games are necessary for learning, since learning is already fun, but there can never be too much fun can there? Though.. I guess there is too much fun if something needs to be serious.. hmmm..." His verbal rambling slowly quieted until his expression said he was simply thinking about it now.

Vl’kan tossed and turned in his sleep as his muscles twitched and contracted in time with the dream he was currently fighting through. A final tensing of his muscles managed to shake the boy from his dreams and with a loud gasp he shot up in bed, eyes wide and drenched in a layer of cool sweat. It must have been a very vivid dream because as he looked to his left and saw a pair of crimson streaked eyes, that appeared to float in the darkness, the young Lord let out a very undignified yelp and tumbled out of bed.
Scary dreams Vl’kanMine? You look as though you’ve seen a ghost. Vl’kan could almost hear the dry chuckle hidden in his companions voice. Picking himself off the floor he untangled his legs from the blankets and wandered across the room to splash some water on his face. “I guess you could say that…” Yawning he rubbed at his eyes and glanced around the room, the other beds were empty so the others must have already started their days. Groaning he rubbed at his temples and quickly began to move about the room in his attempt to get ready. Oh I spoke with my brothers and Theirs thought of waking you to join them... I politely declined on your behalf. The young garnet rumbled in amusement at the memory before rising from his couch and snaking his way across the room towards the door.
Vl’kan shot his companion a quick glare before tugging on his shirt and lacing up his boots. It was too late to reprimand his dragonet on the matter so for the moment he kept quiet. “Alright…well, let’s see what we can get to eat.” The pair reached the kitchens and Vl’kan piled a plate full of breakfast leftovers before finding a table off in the corner to enjoy the reheated meal. Meanwhile Thormyth was sitting quite still for once and eyeing the antics of a fire lizard and huntyre as they chattered and chirped away at the kitchen staff. “Don’t even think about it..” Vl’kan mumbled through a mouthful of eggs. “You can’t eat someone’s pet.” The garnet barred his fangs at these last words. As if someone could tell him what he could and could not do! In response to His’ words, Thormyth turned his head and nipped at the mans wrist, drawing a thin stream of blood. Vl’kan swore through a full mouth and dropped his fork as the stinging sensation worked its way up his arm. We can do whatever we wish, Mine. There is none here who would stand in our way if I were to take a bite out of that little blue and feathery thing. You’d do well to remember that.
The young Rider grumbled something in response as he finished chewing and snatched a rag off the table to wipe the blood from his hand. Come, we are being summoned along with my siblings for a lesson it would seem. Without a word Vl’kan gulped down the last of his klah and headed for the door with Thormyth close to his side. The reached the bowl and already could tell that one or two of the others had arrived before them, gathered around a green and her rider. A pair who looked very familiar to the man. Drawing closer he was able to take a good look at the woman and quickly realized she was the one who had called them out that night to the obsidian and her hidden clutch.
“Fancy finding you here, Panille. Have you come to look after the bastard weyrlings of Ista?” He spoke lightly yet he knew there was some truth to his words. After all, Ista was frightened by the new colors almost as much as Trelis. Only difference being, Trelis actually offered to take in the young dragons and their bonded.

Oh land. Sweet, sweet land. They'd been at Trelis for some time, but Artemis still could remember- quite clearly- the nasty rocking motion of the ship that they had arrived in. She had spent much of the voyage miserable and seasick, much to Alieth's distress-- ironic, for someone Istan-born. For all that she'd come from the island, she'd been a weaver-- not someone who spent a lot of time on ships.
Ground was much more comfortable. She didn't suffer anymore from seasickness's affects-- though sometimes, she would dream of it, and wake up close to nauseous. That had been her situation about a candlemark ago, and she was still feeling a touch woozy, though it was hard to say whether it was from the remembered effects of the dream or the sleepiness that still sat heavily on her eyes.
You look much better, mine. Alieth supplied helpfully, Perhaps that tea helped.
Artemis didn't offer a verbal response-- only sipped more of the soothing drink, and nodded. It wasn't actually tea-- just some soothing herbal concoction, and for all that it wasn't the least enjoyable to drink, it was certainly very soothing. Honey helped make it less awful.
You should finish it quickly, though; we have a lesson. We were just called~
Artemis sighed, but nodded. "Okay," she offered, and winced as she drank teh remainder of her mug down quickly. IT only made sense that they would start having lessons: they hadn't, over the voyage here, and the hatchlings from the native clutch had already started theirs. IT wouldn't do for their older dragonets to fall that much more behind. "Where to?"
I know where- follow me. She said, and once Artemis had disposed of her mug, she pranced off in the direction of the lessons. Artemis followed, blinking the last vestiges of sleep from her eyes and trying to abandon the feelings of worry that were replacing the drowsiness.
Mostly, her worries had to do with familiarity. She already had to leave her family behind: a distance she felt very keenly. What else woudl change? who would teach them? Her classmates would stay the same, but this was a new weyr, in a new place, and they did things differently then they did at Ista... That was a good thing, since they were willing to accept the strange new colors, but not all change had to be good...
She breathed a sigh of relief at the familiar woman and her green heading the class, and smiled, relaxing visibly. "Oh, you're our teacher? Great. I Was worried it would be someone we didn't know."

Panille looked around as three of the weyrlings came around. The opal, one of the Amyethysts, and then the garnet. Sy'ka was already here, so that left one final Amethyst didn't it? Or was she miscounting? The greenrider sighed and cradled her head momentarily with one hand. You shouldn't have had that wineskin yesterday Mine. Iliath crooned from not far, laughing slightly in Hers' mind. Oh shush you. Pan didn't want to think about last night, partially because she couldn't remember last night. Her green had risen, the first time in a while actually. You were upset before because of what S'vrin was making us do.
You weren't though. Iliath snorted. It was what I was being told to do, and you were happy enough to follow. I suppose it was fun while it lasted. The green curled her tail around her nose and closed the first of her eye-lids. Looking around, Pan cleared her throat. "Okay, as you can guess I'm your new Weyrlingmaster. Alyara is busy with Loraketh's first clutch, K'lin is with Maelath's, and the Obsidian and her rider that clutched your dragonets are busy dealing with Junior Weyrwoman stuff since they're in that position till our newest Queen grows a bit older."
"So, in other words. You're stuck with me, what a happy, lovely time this is." She smirked then, knowing full well that for most of these weyrlings, she had been the bane of their existence as candidates. "Now, first thing's first. Who know anything about these new colors? Come one, speak up. They're not like normal dragons, so let's see what we can pull together." Pulling out a sheet of thin hide, she stretched it along the wall and asked Iliath to call some firelizards to keep it there. A blue and green obediently showed up, trilling as they took one side each in their little claws.
I promised them food later. Nodding her head, Panille continued by wetting a quill with some ink and writing the five names of the new colors. Topaz, Obsidian, Garnet, Opal, and finally Amethyst were written across the top in a clear script.

V'koi shifted from foot to foot as he waited for the lesson to truly start. He was eager to learn again, he had been eager for a while now, and it had felt like eons since the last lesson he had been to. Beside him, he could feel Panyth's amusement at the young rider's feelings of impatience and curiosity. Not to mention, the young boy was outright pleased to have Pan as his teacher again. He had enjoyed her lessons in the past, even if he had gotten in trouble a couple times.
You should listen, V'koiMine,It is better to learn now, then on our deathbed. V'koi shot the opal a strange look, once again bewildered by the weird things he said sometimes. Nonetheless, wiggling in excitement, he listened to Pan's starting speech. He supposed it made sense that she was the Master of them, since the other Masters were busy with Trelis' homeborn weyrlings. He wondered briefly if they had simply been shoved off to the side to be ignored or not... but then again, he was in a new place, with new adventures in store. So why did he care what the Weyr did with them! His eyes opening widely as the flits were called in to help. Aedion, from his spot under the hem of His' robes, squeaked curiosly at them and flew over, wanting to help as well. His hand shot up excitedly.
"Oh oh! Can I go? Pleeeeease!!??" He called out before shooting out some words quickly. "Panyth is an Opal. There were more opals at Queen Maelath's hatching too. So they must be sorta common, maybe like browns? But they don't seem to be as big as the browns, more the size of greens or blues. I dunno how big theyll be when theyre full grown or anything, but i mean... based on the sizes of the hatchlings there the opals seem to fit right in between greens and blues. Oh! And they're male! And have lots of colours. Well sorta. Panyth has lots of colours, but Maelath's opals didn't have as many. I guess that means they can be any colours? But they have to have white! All of them have had white so far." He took a deep gulp of air in then, his face red from talking without breathing, "Oh! And they have impressed both boys AND girls! And and!"
It would be wise to let the others speak as well. It would not do to create animosity between us, after all, all we have is eachother. V'koi nodded sheepishly, "Well, that's all I know!"

woof
The news that Panille would be their weyrlingmaster was not unwelcome, and Artemis found herself relaxing: she was feelign the absence of her family keenly, but Pan was at least a familiar fac.e She had taught them as candidates, and now she would teach them as weyrlings. It fit.
"Glad to have you." she replied cheerfully, at that news, and then she looked curiously at the Amethyst. Alieth was watching her calmly, offering no hint of anything. What was special about her dragonet? Well, everything, of course-- but what was special about the color. She had been there during the Trelis hatching, too, so she could draw from that source as well.
She waited until V'koi had given his excited answer, and turned to level one of her own. "Well," she began, "There seem to be a lot of Amethysts-- almost as many, or more, then the greens." she looked at Alieth and smiled, "in both clutches, too. So perhaps they're common? And they also hatched a little smaller then the greens." She shrugged, "Maybe they'll grow bigger, but if they grow like normal dragons, that means they'll stay a little smaller. So, I would guess that Amethysts are a new female fighter color."
Reasonable answer, right?
