D'tri smiled as he watched Chahaturth glide eloquently through the hot water of the bath with Iona close to her side. He remembered the topaz's reaction when she had first met the gold flit. She had originally hated Iona, but when he had explained that she could help take care of her wonderful hide, her perception of the flit quickly changed. Now the two of them were almost inseparable. It seemed that even though Chahaturth hated her golden sister, she loved Hers' golden firelizard. D'triMine, you should join us. The water feels wonderful! Chahaturth had turned to look at her rider as she spoke. Iona chirped and swam onto the topaz's back, where she curled up, and crooned to her larger cousin. D'tri laughed at them both. Alright, alright, I'm coming. He shook his head as he took his work clothes off. He was now in his relaxing shorts. It was better to get these wet, than the clothes he had to wear whenever he worked with Chahaturth. D'tri ran into the water, causing it to splash up around him as he did so. He dived in as soon as the water was deep enough so that he wouldn't injure himself. He quickly swam over to his two bondeds, and smiled warmly when they both crooned at him. Happy now? I'm in the water. He playfully patted the large dragoness as he spoke. Chahaturth dipped her head under the water, and quickly brought it up again, splashing Her's before quickly swimming away.

Kayath pranced down the hallway, head held high and wings held just away from her body as she moved, as if she was posing for cameras on the red carpet. You look silly doing that. J’dol commented, tired and exhausted from the lessons that day. He was hot and sweaty and covered in dirt. Kayath, while not dirt covered, wasn’t as shiny as she could be either, though that would soon change. Both dragon and rider had immediately agreed that a bath was in order. And so, Kayath and J’dol now found themselves walking rather briskly towards the bathing room and for once, J’dol hoped there wouldn’t be anyone there so he could relax without Kayath trying to get the attention of one of the males. You’re no better! Kayath huffed back. She had been on edge since the hatching. With not only a new queen, but another Topaz hatchling, it had been hard for the attention-loving dragon to accept that she would have to share the spotlight for a while. J’dol listened as they drew nearer to the baths, positive that he could hear the sound of splashing water. So, they wouldn’t be alone. Shrugging, he realized that another dragon might be a good thing, if Kayath could get some attention from it, then maybe she’d quiet down about the entire ordeal.
Rounding the corner, Jaks stopped dead in his tracks, Kayath hissing right behind him. Of course.. He just had to stumble into the bathing rooms at the same time as the new topaz! He was about to turn as and see if they could sneak out without being noticed by the pair.. But then J’dol took notice of the rather.. Underdressed young man in the water. You know Kayath… this might not be such a bad idea. He brushed a hand through his hair as he eyed D’tri. Kayath wouldn’t stand for it.
First you steal my crowd? Now you have to go and steal my water too? You pathetic excuse for a topaz! GET OUT OF MY POOL! The topaz launched herself into the pool, though she made sure not to land on D’tri. She towered above Chahaturth. Growling menacingly. She would chace the little wench out of here and regain her rightful place!

D'tri turned around and faced the doorway when he heard something hissing. Chahaturth too turned, and hissed right back at the older Topaz. What had she done that would make the older dragon so angry with her? Take it easy Cha! D'tri's voice in his dragon's mind was stern, and commanding. She didn't move away from her rider, though, she didn't stop hissing either. She didn't understand why the older topaz was so upset about her and Her's taking a bath in the communal baths.
D'tri tried to swim out of the way when the larger topaz jumped into the water, he didn't get very far though, when the larger dragon landed into the water. She didn't land on him, but the waves she created was enough to cover the large seventeen turn weyrling. He came up from under the water sputtering. HOW DARE YOU ALMOST DROWN MY RIDER!! Chahaturth's anger at what the other topaz had done, echoed not only in her voice, but in the roar that came along with her words.
CHAHATURTH! THAT'S ENOUGH! D'tri's loud voice echoed in the bathing rooms as he yelled at his dragon. Chahaturth hissed at the larger dragon, but swam over to where her rider was now standing. He was still standing the water, which was now just above his hips. She crooned to Her's, and wrapped herself around him. I'm sorry if us being here is a problem, but this is a communal bath. D'tri had a hand resting on Chahaturth's head as he spoke.
D'tri looked back and forth from the other rider, and his dragon, he was waiting for a response. He wanted to see what the others would do. He was right after all. These were the communal baths, and they had a right to be here. He knew Chahaturth wasn't happy about the fact that the other topaz was here, but she wasn't going to upset her rider any further. Iona on the other hand was still floating around in the water. She was confused, but the gold flit just trilled curiously.
Iona swam over to where Her's and Hers' Large One was. She climbed up onto Chahaturth's back, and sat down with her gold tail wrapped around her body. She was looking back and forth between the two topaz dragons, and wondered why it seemed like both of them hated each other. She looked up at D'tri, and crooned. She wanted to know what was going on, but it seemed like no one was going to pay much attention to her until this was all worked out. So she settled down, and waited quietly.

Kayath was about to yell back at the other topaz when D’tri joined in on the yelling. Hissing at both human and dragon as the moved beside one another in the water. J’dol took that opportunity walk in, grab the end of Kayath’s tail, and give it a good yank.
“Oy Princess, stop harassing the newbies.” Kayath turned a whirling eye on her rider, snorting in annoyance at him before throwing another growling hiss at the other pair. She sat in the center of the pool, sprawling out as best as she could in an attempt to fill the pool with herself, though it was quite a bit too large for her to fill just yet. J’dol sighed, shaking his head. Then he turned to look at his fellow topaz rider, feeling a bit guilty for letting Kayath act as poorly as she was.
“Hey, sorry about that, she’s a bit of a drama queen.” He ran a hand through his hair again as he spoke. “Congratulations on impressing, by the way. Chahaturth is her name? She’s quite pretty.” Kayath snorted. Not as pretty as me. J’dol slapped the dragon’s rump affectionately. “Yes Kayath, you’re the prettiest six month old Topaz.” This seemed to mollify the orange dragon for a moment, before she rounded on J’dol with a growl. I’m the ONLY six month old Topaz you buffoon! J’dol chuckled and told her again just how wonderful she was, and after a few moments of silent argument later, Kayath turned to Chahaturth again rumbling about the unfairness of it all. Mine wants me to apologize. So sorry I almost drowned your rider. Then quieter she mumbled. but I still don’t like you wench…

D'tri looked over at Kayath when she hissed at him, and raised his eye brows at her. He had never been hissed at by anything, or anyone, other than Iona, so it really only amused him. He watched as the older topaz's rider pulled on her tail, and bit back a chuckle he could feel rising in his throat. You'd never do anything like that to me, right D'triMine? He heard the hesitation in his dragon's voice, and looked down at her with a tempted stare.
Just don't push your like Little Lady. D'tri patted Chahaturth's head when he sent her the message over the bond that they shared. Chahaturth flicked her tail at her rider's words, but her eyes never left the other topaz. It's alright, I'm learning to understand that fact myself. You have to admit though, they are pretty cute when they're mad. He chuckled as he spoke about the two females being cute when angry. That had elecited a growl from his own dragon, who finally took her gaze away from the other dragon.
D'tri and Chahaturth watched as the other two seemed to argue silently between each other before Kayath turned to face Chahaturth. Then I guess we can agree on something. I don't like you either you old bat. D'tri slapped the topaz's side when he heard what she had called the other topaz. Be nice or I'm gonna leave you to dry without oiling you! His voice sounded a lot like a dragon hiss as he yelled at his dragon.

Old bat… old bat… old bat… The words echoed through both J’dol and Kayath’s minds, both utterly speechless, though for entirely different reasons. J’dol was silent, though the shaking of his body and the hand that quickly moved to cover his mouth made it obvious enough that he was trying to not laugh. Kayath, on the other hand, was petrified. Her butt dropped to the ground, her wings drooping and her eyes taking on a sorrowful colour. Old… bat… So upset she didn’t even bother to stop her words from reaching the younger topaz pair. Miiiiiiiiiine! She called me old! I’m not old am I? I’m only six! That’s not old right?! Her head shot to look over her hide. oh! OH NO! MIIIINE! Is that a grey spot? Pleeeeeeeease don’t tell me I have a grey spot! And wrinkles?! Am I already getting wrinkles?!?!?! Oooooooh I am sooo PATHETIIIIIC! Her body dropped into the water, bubbles rising up in the water from her mouth as she gave an underwater sigh.
J’dol took another moment to try to subdue his chuckles before jogging over to where her head lay just under the water. “Don’t you worry your pretty head off my princess,” He replied, his voice still full of amusement. “You still have a long time to go before you start getting old.” The topaz raised her head out of the water glaring once again at Chahaturth. It’s HER fault I look so terrible! She has stolen my youth! And for what! Just to look like a giant booger! J’dol! Make her give it baaaaack! J’dol sighed before glancing back at D’tri, appreciating the view for a moment before smiling, rolling his eyes, and mouthing the word ‘melodramatic!’.

D'tri shook his head at Chahaturth, who gently nudged him with her head. You should be nice to her Chahaturth. She isn't the one you're upset with and you know it. The topaz knew who Her's was talking about, and at the mention of her golden sister, a sinister hiss escaped the female. Why did Her's have to mention that...that...INSECT!!!!! Chahaturth rustled her wings, and lashed her tail through the air. She didn't even want to think of her sister, but she knew that Her's was right.
D'tri looked up, and saw that J'dol had his hand over his mouth, no doubt trying to keep himself from laughing. He raised an eye brow at the other topaz rider, wondering what was going on. Then he saw Kayath drop to the ground. Chahaturth trilled satisfactory at the site of the older Topaz, but quickly quieted at a glare from her rider. D'tri shook his head at his dragon, and then turned his attention back to J'dol and Kayath who seemed to be throwing a temper-tantrum.
D'tri raised his eyes at the other man's mouthed words, and nodded his head. He had a feeling there was going to be no way to fix this. He knew better than to give up just yet. He needed to try to think of a way to fix things between the two topaz females. In other words, he needed to find a common enemy. Then, an idea struck him. You know, now that there is a new gold weyrling, neither of you are going to be getting much attention. Some might say you two might become old news. It might not work, but it was worth a try.
Chahaturth hissed menacingly at her rider's words. D'tri though, was slowly walking away from his topaz. He gave J'dol a look that seemed to say, "Go with it." He hoped the other rider would go along with his plan to try to get the two topaz's to agree on something. Though, he couldn't be sure, and let's face it, it was still a long shot. He knew that Chahaturth already hated her sister, but because of what he said, her hatred seemed to grow, which D'tri hadn't thought possible.

J’dol raised an eyebrow curiously at D’tri’s words. Wondering what the gold had to do with anything, but realizing what the other was trying to do he nodded. However, before he could add any comment in, Kayath had resurfaced, her eyes whirling in confusion. She made sure her speech was heard by Chahaturth and Hers as well as her own. There’s a gold? Oh wait, the poor thing couldn’t even decide what she was! Kayath snorted. It would take more than a gold to worry her. After all, one day she would be prettier and more popular than the last Junior Queen, she planned on one day drawing more attention then her own golden mother had, despite loving Loraketh almost as much as she loved J’dol. I am much too pretty to lose to the likes of that little brat. You, on the other hand, should worry. She turned to Chahaturth as she spoke, making sure her pose bellied the confidence that her voice had. J’dol merely smirked and slapped her affectionately knowing the Topaz was still upset by the younger one‘s comment. He leaned close to D’tri and mumbled quietly,
“Once she sees how popular Izanycorth is, she’ll reconsider I’m sure.” Though, he wasn’t sure at all. Kayath had not yet been faced with the problem of dealing with golds other than her own dam, and occasionally Maelath. But they had been here before Kayath had hatched, and he wondered if that was part of the reason she felt no hatred towards the older golds; they had been nothing but mother-figures to her. She had never had to compete with a younger, growing gold. J’dol shrugged apologetically to the other topazweyrling. He didn’t care if Kayath wasn’t fond of another dragon, she had every right to it, and he wasn’t entirely fond about focusing her dislike on a currently uninvolved party just to save Chahaturth. Kayath was proud enough to find a way to see herself as better than others, maybe the younger topaz would one day be able to do the same.
“By the way,” He spoke quietly, “I don’t think I got your name.”

D'tri nodded his head at the other topaz's words. Yep, and so far she's getting more attention than both Loraketh, and Maelath did. He didn't really care of Kayath hated Chahaturth, but it stopped the fighting, at least temporarily. That's all he cared about. They were at the baths to relax, not fight. Well, that's why he had come there, he wasn't sure about the others. He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly and turned away from the other weyrlings.
D'tri nodded at the other man's words, and started walking back towards Chahaturth. The topaz female had completely ignored the other topaz, and had been glaring at her rider. D'triMine, I would like to be cleaned now. Chahaturth didn't care if the other's heard her. She was ready to be cleaned, and her rider needed to hurry. D'tri smiled at his dragon. It seemed like the young female was easily distracted when it came to her hide.
D'tri looked back at the other weyrling when he was asked a question. My apologies, my name is D'tri, I'm sure you've heard Chahaturth's name already, and the little gold flit is Iona. He dipped his head as he introduced himself to the other man. He smiled sweetly before turning to walk back to his own dragon and firelizard. Both of whom crooned at him when he reached them. Iona flew up to perch on Hers' shoulder, and watched as D'tri started wiping Chahaturth's hide.

J'dol stretched, shifting to settle more comfortably in the bath, enjoying the gentle warmth of the heated waters. Kayath used her wings to splash water on herself, then turned to Hers, snorting in annoyance as she realized he woulnd't be moving any time soon. Suddenly two flits betweened into the room chittering to the older Topaz, likely about something exciting they had seen. She spoke aloud, her voice reaching everyone in the baths. I grow bored with the little brat. I think it is time a stretch my wings and dry off in the air. She stepped out of the water, shaking her wings lightly to get some of the water off before trotting out the door, head once again held high. J'dol watched her go, giving only a silent comment that he would follow her out soon enough. The two flits accompanied her out of the room before doubling back to play in the water.
"Good to meet ya D'tri, it's a shame we had to meet this way though." He sighed, "I'm J'dol by the way, and the big orange pain in the butt is Kayath. The two flits here are Bit and Spazz." One of the flits, a little green, swam over to him before jumping out of the water to land on his head, squeaking excitedly. The blue, on the other hand, flew out of the water to wiz around the younger topaz's head, making curious, excited noises before trying to land on Chahaturth's head. "Spazz get down from there," J'dol called, though the blue only squeaked back before diving towards D'tri instead, trying to land on the boy's face, though he turned away at the last moment to dive bomb the water instead.
J'dol rose out of the water, scooping Spazz up and placing him on his shoulder before stepping up behind D'tri, moving to lean over the other boy's shoulder as he spoke quietly, his intent have his skin brush lightly against D'tri's own. "That's a lot of hide to cover... want any help?"

D'tri sighed as he continued to wipe his topaz dragon's hide. He had never known that cleaning a dragon was so much trouble. At least Iona was trying to help. The gold flit was trying to use a rag to wipe her larger cousin's hide. Chahaturth crooned as Her's started to wipe a particularly itchy spot. D'triMine, scratch there more. The topaz's words sounded a lot more relaxed than she looked. D'tri was actually sorta happy that his dragon had chosen to talk to him, and him alone.
D'tri stood up, and wiped a bit of sweat that had appeared on his fore-head. He turned to face the other weyrling pair when he heard splashing. He noticed that the other topaz was splashing water on herself, but seemed to be a bit annoyed with her rider, and wondered what he had done to deserve her annoyance. He jumped back a little when two flits decided to pop in. Chahaturth snorted at them, but pretty much ignored them after that.
Iona dropped her rag, and climbed back onto D'tri's shoulder. She cocked her head to the side as she watched the two strange firelizards. D'tri on the other hand, raised an eye brow as he watched the older topaz leave the baths. He sighed and shrugged his shoulders. Nothing he could do. I agree J'dol, it is a shame, but maybe some day the two of them will learn to at least tolerate each other's presance. D'tri know that time would be a long time in waiting as soon as he heard Chahaturth's low growl.
D'triMine, what does it want? Chahaturth didn't even try to hide her annoyance at the blue flit's antics. She shook her head, and growled at the blue when he tried to land on her head. No one was allowed on her head, not even Her's gold. She snorted at the little creature, but watched him curiously as he turned his attention to Her's. She was truly amused now. She rumbled with laughter as she watched the blue flit.
D'tri didn't think it was so funny when the blue tried to land on his face. Neither did Iona, who hissed at the male when he came too close. Iona rustled her wings, and grumbled angrily as she flew from her perch on D'tri's shoulder, to float gently in the warm water. D'tri watched curiously as the other weyrling got closer to him. He felt the other man's skin on his own, and listened quietly as he spoke. He looked at J'dol out of the corner of his eyes, and smiled with amusement.
I could use all the help I can get. D'tri's voice was gentle, and quiet, but there was mistaking the silent flirting. Chahaturth watched the two humans closely, and rumbled softly at Her's. D'triMine, have you been waiting for him to get closer? She made sure to keep her words between only herself, and her rider. D'tri smiled at his topaz female, and winked at her. What do you think my dear? He raised both eye brows at the female, who just shook her head, and waited for them to finish her hide.
