The green knew her eggs were hatching, or egg rather. The young female didn't know the difference yet between a dud and a normal egg, but she did know when they were going to appear. Her viable egg rocked back and forth, spastic in its attempts to appear into the world finally. Cheeping, the mother green raised her dark head. It was a hue almost black, and in the sunset it looked as such. She needed food for her young! Chirping as she betweened, the green didn't look back. It would be easy for a predator to attack the defenseless egg, but green mothers seldom considered that. Unlike a gold who was born with instincts to mother, or a fair to protect the clutch, this green was on her own. So, it shouldn't have been surprising what happened next. Someone was about to come and stumble upon this site. Someone was going to soon find themselves a perpetual owner of a flit. The question was...what kind. With so many new colors, no one knew what a green was capable. Certainly the golds proved themselves to carry the strange genes. Would a green as well? Perhaps, but it wouldn't be told by this egg. For, as it chirped in protest at still having a shell, a green nose pressed against the tiny opening. Nostrils flaring to catch its first breath, the Green baby pushed again against its prison. It wanted out!

Jillalene wandered out along the bay after her chores thinking about the blue twotoned speckled egg again. It'd been occupying her thoughts more and more lately. That aggressive little lilt into possessiveness made an equal flame inside her spark to life. Humming softly as she strolled along the sand, the waves making a rhythm for her song as they lapped at her bare feet.
She was supposed to meet her new roommate this evening. It was going to be interesting not being by herself anymore. She wondered idly if the girl would be nice or not so much. Either way, she herself was going to be nice and polite. She was an apprentice Harper, and a candidate after all. How could she impress if she couldn't even control herself with her fellow humans. She let herself be at peace again with the melody of the waves and enjoyed the warmth of the midday sun until she spotted something halfway down the beach almost in a tidal pool.
It was a little mound of sand, but she could barely make out little bits of color popping over the edge. Curiously she went to the mound, kneeling beside it in amazement as she realized, It was a clutch! She looked around nervously. The mother was nowhere in sight... That made her worry a bit. The eggs were tiny, it had to be a fire lizzard, and from the location and looks of the nest, a green. The little flits, like their Dragon counterparts, usually werent the best suited for motherhood. Then there was the possibility of something happening to the little thing...
she snapped out of her musings to see a tremor shake one of the eggs. a small crack appeared and all she could see was green scales.
Her heart dropped to her stomache. It was her first time witnessing a hatching.

The green inside pushed out against the shell, chirping. Someone was there! Someone was there to see her! Sniffing at the tiny hole she had made, the green crooned before flexing her wings. A crack sounded and a thin line split all the way down the middle of her egg. Here she was! Trilling, the green wobbled. Woah! What were these...things? Looking at her feet, she shook her head. World spinning! World spinning! Not good! The firelizard wobbled around in a circle as she chittered before she noticed the candidate in front of her. Mother! She chirped again and again, opening her little jaws to sing. That's right, sing for her. The chitters and trills climbed up and down much like the firelizards did that belonged to harpers. The green wobbled this way and that, fanning out her wings before her eyes caught onto something shiny. Abruptly stopping her show, the green dove over to the shiny. It was her shiny! Hers! Hissing, she flared her wings at the girl near her. Heeeeeerrrrs!!!! Snorting, the little green plopped down, wrapping her tail around the seashell shard carefully and picking it up. It was pretty! Crooning again, the green started to sing. This time when she looked at Jilliana, her eyes shown with rainbows. Her mind caressed against the candidate's, and her body wobbled over to her. Seamist Green Colors: I'll get them for you later tomorrow. Size: Small Green *so anywhere on the smaller side* Personality: Sweet, likes to sing and dance, likes to cuddle with things, flirty, protective, possessive, easily destracted, likes shiny things, lady-like

Jillalene could hardly contain herself when the little chirping sound started. It was just so cute! She'd seen others with fire lizzards of course, envying the other candidates with their little partners. She really hoped this one liked her. How amazing would that be? She'd finally have a friend here!
She watched with a smile as the little flit pushed at the tiny hole. Then the flit apparently discovered her wings could help in her task because at that moment, the egg cracked all the way the down the center. Jillalene's heart filled with wonder at the beautiful little fire lizard . She was indeed a green.(not sure about the colors yet) The little girl stumbled a bit on her new legs and shook her head, looking dizzy and melting Jillalene's heart at the same time.
She couldnt help the giggle that escaped her as her little girl chirped contentedly, then seemed to snap in tothe fact that she was there. Then the little girl sang for her. It was the sweetest most beautiful sound Jillalene had ever heard. She was perfect, this little flit. The only one of her brothers and sisters who would hatch, and she was perfect. Jilli watched her toddle around a bit more, her little wings unfurling before the little darling snapped to attention and dove across the sand, then flared her wings and hissed at her.
After a moment or two , Jillalene saw the reason for the commotion. The little flit had locked on a bit of shiny shell and was apparently guarding it from her. She shook her head mming soothingly to the little green. When she was satisfied her bauble was safe, she sat and studied it for a while and jillalene drew her knees to her chest watching her happily. She was so sweet!
Her singing started again and the little flit looked very happy with her find. After another moment or two, she looked up at her and Jilli's breath caught in her throat. Her eyes showed the rainbows of impression and she felt the brush of the little flit's mind against her own as the little green toddled over to her. She held out her hands for the little flit, full of love and admiration for her tiny miracle.
