Inali was a bookworm, she had to be, just simply had to be. Why else would the Weyrwoman be in the library on her day off? Especially when that library was the public Weyr one and not her own records room. Sighing, the dark haird girl ran her fingers lovingly against the old, dusty spines. Taking in a deep breath, the goldrider let the scent of the scrolls and parchment wash over her. It always was a calming effect, something she despretly needed now. No, she wouldn't think of Maelath's flight now. The Gold was due within the next season, and though it was not her own dragon, Inali was still worried.
Trelis needed a good clutch to show the other Weyrs that this one was worthy; and that was up to the JuniorQueen now. The result wasn't the only worrying factor though, Inali didn't want to think about who might chase the Gold. Thoughts slipped toward T'rian and Stallorth. They had said that they wouldn't be there, but no one could really tell when a dragoness would rise. Besides as soon as they found out Stallorth was likely to fall under the flightlust. What was she so frightened of though? Tor was her weyrmate, he'd want to be with her surely. Shaking her head to clear away the foggy thoughts, Inali glanced over at the window.
Even besides who would catch her, the whole idea of what would hatch frightened Inali as well. Already she had gotten word from three of the Weyrs conserned about the new colors. Especially the Garnet. They had all heard of the way Emiath acted even toward His Own. Inali didn't dare mention in her responses that they were still having trouble with the male. Sighing, the girl shook her head. She shouldn't be thinking of any of this. Yet, the thoughts haunted her mind to the extent that she couldn't escape them.
Outside, Loraketh was sunning herself on a rocky ledge. The golden form spred out so that the rays bounced off her hide and reflected along the dark stone. One swirling eye looked over at the rider's direction and Inali smiled slightly. You worry too much My Lady. You should be taking it easy. After all, this is supposed to be a fun day. Snorting, the gold female rustled her wings together and flicked her tail lazily. Even laying down, the dragoness still maintained some resmeblence of dignity and lady-like elegance. Her head was propped up on her front feet, her tail curled around her back legs, each of her wings folded delicitely over her body.
Turning back to the books, Inali picked one out of the shelf and slid down the wooden structure to the cool floor. That was another reason she supposed for coming here. It was much cooler than in her weyr. Opening it up to the first page, the Weyrwoman read a few lines before closing her green eyes. The wonder of doing nothing was what she really wanted. Though that didn't come naturally to Inali. She either was too curious about everything around her, or too worried to really relax. Opening her lips partially, the rider sang a few notes of a long forgotten lullabye. The tune being the only thing she remembered from her mother's voice.
