Appearance
Inali has an hourglass figure that tops around 5 ft 4 in and is covered in creamy alabaster skin. With a petite frame she's not the strongest rider in the weyr. Inali's figure is composed of long legs, a shorter torso, small shoulders, a slender neck, and a heart shaped face.
From what her mother always told her though, it's Inali's eyes that show her personality. Almond shaped and light green, they are hidden behind thick, dark brown lashes and will often flicker around not wanting to settle on one thing for too long. A nervous habit of hers is to brush a hand through her wavy hair. It settles about mid-back in dark, loose waves. Almost being black, the color is a rich brown. Inali also has a soprano voice that matches her temperament, and she enjoys singing while she works.
Inali will often go for earth toned peasant tops that skim her figure and riding pants. This is most often not for comfort, but because she and Loraketh like to go out on rides whenever they are not doing work for the Weyr. Occasionally Inali will wear a knee length dress usually again in earth tones. Generally she wears dresses only to festivities though. She always wears her mother's necklace which is a simple corded choker with a red pendant.
Personality
Even before she became a gold rider, Inali held an iron will inside her body. Any, and every, decision she comes to, Inali holds herself to it till the end. Though at times her stubbornness can become a problem, Inali hates being proved wrong. The rider isn’t one to take “No” as an answer, and if given it, will still do the opposite. What most might be surprised at though, is that this ability to be headstrong doesn’t stem from a rash nature. In fact, Inali sometimes over thinks situations and will often read too much into actions.
Not only stubborn, Inali is also quick-witted and energetic. She's quick to go along with changing plans, and has the enthusiasm to not get tired with a project easily. Inali also loves to be with people and thrives on a social life, often trying to be a leader in a group whether she's wanted or not. This was one of the traits that her dragon, Loraketh, admired her for when they first met on the hatching sands.
This need to be around people can become a problem in of itself though. Inali can come off very pushy or needy even because of the way she responds. This is something that Inali realizes and is trying to remedy, however it is a slow process. The ability to see faults in herself is another trait of Inali's, though she many times will ignore them and act as if they are non-existent.
Additionally, Inali is, or can be, organized. When it is necessary to be as such, the rider will become one of the most situated people one can came across. For the most part though, Inali prefers to be on the average side of this trait. An example of this is that a place she’s working in will be absolutely spotless. Inali can’t stand her working place being cluttered and dysfunctional. Her own weyr however is a different story. When it comes to a living space, a lived in look is what Inali aims for. Not extremely horrible, just so much that it feels like home.
The trait that generally proves most fun is that Inali is quite adventurous. Adventurous, and curious, and still very much a kid at heart, the rider can be a great friend and playmate. Any time someone wants a companion to come explore the Weyr, Inali tries to be there. Now, many times she’s too busy to be there actually, but the whole time she’s working she’ll yearn for the adventure instead. Partially, her adventurous streaks are caused by a ceaseless curiosity. This again doesn’t stem from impulsive needs, she considers the consequences too often for that, but her need to know the unknown easily overcomes this.
One of the most predominant traits found in the rider though, is that she’s kind. Inali constantly wants to help the people of Pern. Occasionally this need though can become a nuisance to some. Not everyone wants help after all, but Inali refuses to hear this and tries to aid people anyway. Also, the rider hates it when people, especially children, are crying. If someone is, Inali will do everything she is capable of doing to remedy the situation. This sympathy doesn’t just stop at humans though; the rider extends it happily to any creature in need.
Unfortunately, Inali’s attempts to be the best she can be occasionally will overwhelm her. It’s at these times, when the duties of being a senior weyrwoman become too much, that she turns to Loraketh. Inali finds great comfort in the dragon, and it is with her that all of her worries and fears come to light.

History
Inali was born to rider parents, Irine rider of Green Erith, and K'nalik of Bronze Shenoth. Unlike others at Ista though, the Weyr where she grew up, Inali wasn't raised as a weyrbrat. No, her parents kept her close to them and their dragons. Still, Inali was an adventurous child and often went on long walks around the Istan shores. She loved it out there, the smell of the salt air, the wonderful breeze that rustled her dark hair. Even at a tender age, Inali held a keen sense about the world around her. It was something that later would prooove one of her most wonderful of qualities.
As the girl grew, she thrived on Weyr life. Well known for a youngster, she purposefully made it her job from the age of 6 to look around and greet any newcomers. Often this was found as sweet, however, there were those who didn't like it so much. As Inali grew even older, she matched any retorts she was given with a silver tongue as deadly as dragon's fire.
By the age of 12, she had stood for her first clutch. Though she did not impress, her parents were proud of their daughter. The next year though took a turn for the worst. The once happy family hit cautastrophy when in a mating flight, her father's dragon was injured by another and fell to his death. The empty shell of a man Inali once knew soon went as well. It forced Inali inside herself, refusing to pay attention to anything around her.
Instead of seeing the wonders of Ista, she could only remember the father and bronze they had lost. Deciding that her daughter and her needed a new home, Inali's mother placed a transfer to the Weyr between the North and South. Trelis was a sanctuary for the two, and soon, Inali was back to almost normal. She had hardened with her loss though, and soon would again when her mother too passed from a lung disease.
The last of her family gone, the now 15 turn old girl had no one to turn to. Inali stopped going to any of the Weyr's hatchings, until one cold winter's night, her roommate's Huntyre's eggs hatched. The now 16 turn old impressed a Forest and named the bird Pepper after her feisty nature. Little by little over the next month, Inali came out of her shell yet again. In the spring of her 16th turn, Mivinth, the senior queen at Trelis rose. Her clutch was a great size at 23 eggs, and that didn't include the best thing of all. A gold egg was there, the first in turns.
Though everyone knew that it also meant thread would be coming within the next decade since all over Pern gold eggs were being clutched and more eggs were being laid, a third gold at Trelis was nothing to laugh at. Inali, coaxed by the Weyrwoman herself stood for the clutch. It was a rainy summer's afternoon when the first egg started to rock. Immediately Mivinth and the other dragons took up the hatching song, the eggs had to look forward to. Rushing to pull on her candidate's robe and sandals, Inali made it out to the sands and bowed to the Queen and her rider.
The two didn't even show any hostility to the candidate, instead even Mivinth herself ushered Inali toward her gold egg. As the first egg cracked then broke, a bronze slid out. A bronze first was always a good sign, and Inali clapped when it impressed. More eggs let go of their prisoners, and the hatching went on smoothly, till yet another bronze hatched. This one wasn't regal like is first brother, he was sadistic and mean.
Marching over to his green sister, the larger male ripped into her side when she didn't submit to his will. It was then that the gold egg hatched and in a quick and graceful movement, the newest queen had her brother beneath her feet. Growling low, the gold bit into his neck quickly not letting go. The bronze had killed the green without any reason and he deserved to be put down. Shaking her head, Inali did the unthinkable. She couldn't let the queen kill the bronze no matter how much he deserved it! Shouting out for her to stop, Inali didn't even recognize that she was using the Gold's name until she was next to the pale dragonet.
Of course you know my name My Lady. I am your Loraketh. Inali couldn't believe it, not only had she impressed but to a gold! Yes, you impressed to a gold, what do you think I am a green? Checking her hide just to make sure this wasn't the case, Loraketh hissed as the bronze tried to get up. "No Lore, let him go." Inali forced her will into the gold's mind, but the dragonet resisted. No, My Lady. He has done great a wrong in killing my sister. He must be punished. Inali bit her lip and pulled again at the dragonet's mind. he is a bronze, this is punishment enough to be in this position. Let him go, I am your rider, you will listen to me. With a little croon the gold let the bronze go, the slightly smaller male scrambling up and running away to the male candidates where he impressed immediately. Good, I knew that back bone was in there somewhere My Lady.
Loraketh and Inali quickly grew and learned in Trelis. Under the close supervision of Mivinth and her rider, the two were taught everything they'd need to know to be successful Jn or Sn. Queen and Weyrwoman. As time went on, not only did they grow in maturity, but also in body. Loraketh grew to be larger than any Gold hatched at Trelis before. At a large 50 feet long, she had out grown Mivinth by a good 4 feet. By the time that Inali was 19 and Loraketh was 3, Mivinth's rider succumed to an ilness and died.
It was heartbreaking for the Weyr, however the uncertainty of Trelis' future loomed over them as the greater threat. Both Queens were close to rising, and the Weyr's only wish was for them to not rise at the same time. Their prayers were heard when one day, Loraketh rose first. Multiple bronzes flew after her, but it was Stallorth of T'rian that she picked. The new Weyrleaders were a pairing that not only did much of the Weyr approve of, but also expected. Having known each other since Inali had first come to Trelis, it was obvious to everyone that the riders at least would choose each other.
After Loraketh's first clutch hatched to show new, surprising colors, Inali led Trelis as best she could. They weren't accepted by all though, and soon Istan riders started to cause trouble. At this same time, Inali found that she was pregnant, and when the riders took Weyrbrats from Trelis, Inali was forced to stay at home. They brought the children back though, along with new weyrlings from a hidden clutch at the Northern Weyr. Not long after, Inali gave birth to twins...and Iskra left leaving Inali in charge with a newly impressed Iirla of Gold Izanycorth.
Things went on though, and day by day the Weyrwoman took it in small strides. The twins grew bigger, and within the next month they were found to not be without their own surprises. The older girl Talian was discovered mute, yet could talk to any flit she chose. The younger girl Inoria was found to be normal physically, yet could talk to any dragon in the Weyr. Of course, these are both abilities that are equivalent to that of a newborn flit's being too uneducated to form proper words or pictures, but it is there nonetheless.
When a storm ruined Sollace Hold, Inali opened Trelis to the refugees. There weren't enough workers though to rebuild The Island's first hold, so Inali went on her own to Southern Weyr to help. She needed to get away from the stress she told herself, she'd only be gone a few days. Southern had other plans though and delayed her weeks. One day, which is what they had hoped for, Loraketh rose in Southern and was caught by a Brownrider's dragon. Now, Ar'rex is Weyrleader with Inali, and the young woman fights daily to keep her Weyr's traditions strong.
With Loraketh's second clutch on the sands though, Inali might have bigger worries to think about...

Dragon
Name Loraketh
Pronunciation (Lore-a-keth)
Age 3 1/2 turns (Spring)
Rank Senior Queen
Size 50ft
Color Codes
Body- FFD700
Underside/Wings- D98719
Appearance
Loraketh’s hide is a satin like light gold. A soft orange gold sheen tinges her body, and becomes more apparent on her underside and around her eyes. The gold’s wings are a darker shade of orange gold as well, and are slightly translucent. As with all dragons, the female has swirling eyes that are facetted. Generally they are a mixture of turquoise, cyan, and a light jade green. When upset though, they will also be tinged maroon or scarlet.
Loraketh holds herself with a great dignity. Head often held high, and shoulders pushed back, the dragon will also hold her wings out a bit like two large fans. She has a thin body with a whip-like tail, as well as a long slender neck and wings. Her head is made of soft angles and ads to her lady-like essence.
For something so big, Loraketh is quite the agile flier. She excels at acrobatics maneuvers, or at least does as much as one of her size can. The gold also is great to have on long flights. Naturally for a dragon of her color, she is too big to have the speed and move ability of a smaller dragon. However, she does well enough, especially in her own opinion. Which, to Loraketh, is what matters most.
Personality
Loraketh, like her rider, has first and foremost a motherly touch. She’s caring and gentle with everyone around her, especially with any creature that’s young. Also, the dragon feels a need to teach others. This shows the most through her most obvious trait. The caring disposition also goes hand in hand with a fierce protectiveness though.
Whenever someone Loraketh cares for is threatened, she’ll transform into a seething ball of rage. No one except for Inali can comfort this part of her personality, and if unchecked it can be a problem. Often when meeting new people, Loraketh will wrap her tail around Inali and hold herself up to her full height. This display is as much to intimidate the newcomer, as it is to act as a security blanket.
For the most part however, the dragon is a demure and lady-like creature. Loraketh generally is soft-spoken and will pad around as shushed as she can. She will often try to hold her wings out a bit like fans; this is because she thinks it’s pretty. The dragon often refers to Inali as My Lady instead of the usual Mine that draconic creatures tend to fall back on.
Loraketh knows about her fits of protective rage, and afterwards will apologize for them. Many times, Inali has mentioned that she’s riding two dragons instead of one. There is the sweet and docile dragoness. Then, there is the furious and protective dragon that is like most Golds.
The only other trait that tends to show itself in the Gold is that true to her color she enjoys sharing knowledge. However, this at times is more in accordance to her own opinions than to actual facts. The queen knows her place in the Weyr’s hierarchy and has a similar stubbornness to her rider, when it comes to voicing her thoughts. It won’t matter if the others involved wish to know what the dragon feels or not, Loraketh will end up mentioning it anyway. In this case, the gold doesn’t know the meaning of the word, “No.”
Mind-voice (If applicable)
Everything happens for a reason My Lady, and everyone has their time when they get to show what that reason is. Simply put, this is ours.
The voice is gentle and sweet. It rings in your head like a bell, echoing even after the dragon has fallen silent. She'll often put a laugh on the ends of her sentences, or something else that lightens the tone. When the dragon is being protective though, the voice becomes ice cold and harsh. The words will become clipped as well, and a chill creeps over to the person being spoken to generally.
