Jillalene sat curled up against Eulurth's side , sleeping against the warm hide of her partner. It had been a long night. Akiko had been in a mood for days and had been raising hell and stealing her jewelry nonstop since about 2 candles that morning. Eulurth opened one eye from where he lay curled around His snorting softly at Rokai, who had flopped upside down as close to the large blue as he could get having hidden from the rampaging little green during the night. Speaking of, the little green was acting peculiar. She rummaged through her pile of jewels and sat with a petulant huff. Obviously not happy with what she had in front of her.
She stretched her wings and her little jewel eyes snapped. Sitting up ramrod straight for a moment, she launched herself into the air, flying down and into the kitchens where she landed on the fresh catch of the morning, blooding three fish before zipping out of the kitchens, none the wiser.
It was time.
She stretched her little wings and soared easily outside for a few minutes, enjoying the wind before crying to the skies.
Come Princelings of Trelis! Show me what you've got! Sing for me!

There was nothing that could stop Mjolnir when he decided anything, save perhaps Ter'lohr. The little bronze hammer of a firelizard was feisty and assertive, and that meant he got his way from everything to stealing the scraps from the kitchen to occasionally telling off a canine who got too cheeky. He'd done both today, vividly remembering the times when his owner hadn't been so restrictive. When he'd first got to the weyr, the little bronze had demanded whole strips of fish before they had even been cooked-- but that got the kitchen-staff complaining, which had Ter'lohr bar him from such actions.
Of course, Ter'lohr wasn't around now. The bronze firelizard was currently making vicious work of a small planter full of kitchen herbs, taken out to catch the sun. Whoever had taken them out had unwisely left them unattended, which means that all manner of animals- including headstrong bronze firelizards-- could take a roll in those herbs.
It was during this minor wreckage that the green's call went out, and everything else was forgotten. Suddenly, special potted earth and the things growing in it were totally forgotten: there was a green in flight. So he screeched and took to the air, great wings flapping downwards and sending little flecks of herb and dirt everywhere.
At least he'd smell like mint for this flight.
Mjolnir was no singer- really, he wasn't eloquent at all. But he was tenacious when he cared to do something, and chasing a greenie was most certainly something he cared to do. So he called to her, voice shrill on the wind as he followed her ascent, wind peeling particularly sticky grains of dirt and plant from him. He'd need a bath after this, but it would most certainly wait until after this flight. After all, he intended to win, and you couldn't win if you had your pet human bathing you.

Hari crooned happily from his comfortable perch on a tree limb, watching the antics of the Weyr's newest weyrlings between naps. Normally the brown would have been down among the less scary humans, hoping for strokes and treats, if his own human wasn't around, but today he was feeling significantly less outgoing and more lazy. Or, at least, he was until she appeared.
She came from the direction of the Weyrbowl and the kitchens, and there was still the scent of blood on the green as she called to her challengers. The fire lizard was a pretty, interesting green, clearly rising, and she was quickly getting further away from Hari. The brown's eyes whirled excitedly as he launched into the air after her, following a bronze that had beaten him there. He chirped and trilled at the green as he followed her, singing as she had challenged him to do.
Hari wasn't the only brown flitter to notice the rising of the green. Barus had snuck into the kitchens in search of food; the ration Hirion provided him was sufficient for a flit, but still left him wanting. He had just bitten into a stale abandoned pastry when the green appeared. She took and blooded three fish before flying out again.
Curious, the young brown wolfed down his own meal and then followed her outside, settling on a warm stone in the Weyrbowl. He hummed eagerly as she cried her challenge to the male flitters--and then hissed in irritation when he saw first a bronze and then a brown join in the flight. He would not be outdone. In a flash he took to the sky and joined in the chase, no matter that his short and stout wings made him a somewhat awkward flier.

Blue had been wandering around the Weyr looking for something to do, when he heard the call of a green firelizard and it sounded to him like she was ready for a flight. This larger blue leapt from the rock he had been sitting on, and quickly took to the air. He started to trill, croon, and chitter at Akiko, everything coming out sounding like a soft song with a gentle melody that spoke of adventure, excitement, and even a little danger. He ducked and dived around the green firelizard, calling her his queen, and doing his best to sing a beautiful song for her. He wanted to show her that he could be the perfect king for her, and that he would devote everything to her. He was ignoring all of the other males, attempting to prove that all he could see was Akiko’s glorious form soaring through the sky that rightfully belonged to her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rex crooned and launched himself off of Kicheth’s head when he heard the call of the green. He snorted when he saw the other males, and snorted again when he noticed the other bronze. This was going to be an interesting flight for sure. He was smaller than the other bronze, but that didn’t deter him in the least. He flew as close to the green as he dared, and started singing his own song, just as she had asked them all to do. His song was deeper in tone than that of the only blue that had dared compete against the larger males, but it was just as loud, but had more to do with the green’s glowing beauty than adventures and the like. He made sure his song never strayed far from the main topic, Akiko. He weaved and danced around beside and below her, but never in front of her. This flight was about her, and he would NEVER do anything to intentionally take that spotlight away from her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Max bounced around His’ bed for literally launching himself out the window and into the sky to join the chase for the green firelizard Akiko. His tan wings beat at the sky while his light chocolate colored hide darted around among the other males vying for the female’s attention. He sang of his loyalty, and his willingness to do everything for her if she were to pick him. His song was light, energetic, and had a very sweet melody all around. His tone was almost as sweet as honey, and he did his best to woo the magnificent green that lit up his world, which was exactly what he called her in his song as well. He did his best to keep his distance from the larger firelizards which could easily take him out of this flight, but completely ignored the smaller blue, which he felt was no threat to his chances at winning this flight. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cin’s head shot up from where he was sitting on Blanca’s head. He had heard the call of the green, but wasn’t sure if he should leave his family. His mind was made up for him when Blanca had gently lifted him off of her head, and then gently tossed him into the air. He quickly joined the chase, but didn’t join in on the singing. He crooned to her instead, telling her that there were no songs or words that could ever describe her sheer beauty, elegance, or her pure power. His peru colored wings beat against the sky as he followed her, his sienna face never leaving her glowing green body. He kept an even pace, and did his best to avoid the larger bronzes. He kept an eye on them though, and believed that they would be his hardest competition, so he would have to work extra hard if he was to have a chance at winning.
