So I was thinking the other day about how much Loraketh's weyrlings have grown so far and an idea hit me. I know they're still a little young to be placed in their own separate wings with the rest of the Riders but what's the harm in doing a sort of 'recruitment' phase, or planning one at least?
Each weyrling would get the chance to show off their acrobatic abilities coinciding with whatever Wing they'd like to join, whether that be High, Medium, or Low. The top performers would get their first pick and the opportunity to submit their request to the appropriate Wingleader. Everyone else would be properly sorted in the appropriate Wings based on the opinions of the Wingleaders.
Now I know our queens and sub-queens would go to the Queens Wing, unless of course the sub's decide they want to chew and then they could 'try out' along with the others.
I'd be happy to conduct the try outs with S'val. Also S'bel, A'zeal and T'rian would need to be in attendance as well due to their status in the Weyr. The Weyrling Masters would also be invited seeing as it's their wards who will be running around.
But like I said it's just an idea. Whether you guys like it or hate it feel free to leave some feedback!

I like it Zero! I'd definately have T'rian there, and I would have N'ck and Kicheth do their best!

Well, since the Istan Obsidian came to Trelis, IC we know that the subs can chew. As for being sorted into wings, that's a great idea. It probably would happen next month though since at the end of this one they'll be betweening for the first time. They won't start chewing till the end of next month, but between their first betweening and chewing, should be a great initial idea. It could even be a try out to change up positions normally in the wings. Kind of like a free-for-all for whoever wants to try out for leaders or seconds or thirds, or to switch wings. I know we could definitely use some of that since we have high positions to fill still too. Great idea. It should be interesting since that'll probably be right after the storm hits too.

Awesome! I'm glad everyone's on board for this.
So I was thinking since we have four wings, not to include the queens wing, then the top four performers, regardless of color, could 'win' the top spots of wing third and, possibly even, wing second. Or if the wingleaders feel that the individual did not perform up to par for the particular position, then the individual could still hold a spot as wing rider, working hard and all that to earn the promotion.
I know were still a month away from playing this out, but I like gathering ideas together first so I can plan out the event accordingly.
