Hurry uuuup Mine!!!!! The young green paced back and forth as U'wa was finishing up his stall. The boy was nervous, it was easy to tell. He kept glancing around as if worried he was going to get in trouble for what he was doing. He had permission though, everything had been dealt with ahead of time (which was a heart-attack in itself) so Peniath had no idea why the boy was so on edge. Fari too, was chirping and warbling curiously as she watched Hers set up from her spot in the little basket. The eggs were warm and hard beneath her, no doubt close to hatching. Maybe that was why the green weyrling was so fidgetty? "T-there we go.." He gulped, moving the huntyre and her basket onto the table that was being used as his stand. "You... You'll have to let them see... you know..." He mumbled quietly to the Forest, who simply shot him a look of dislike. Her? let THEM come near her things? Her eggs? Nuh-uh! U'wa pulled a shiny pebble out of his pocket and flashed it before her eyes. Oooh! Shiny! She chirped. hopping out of the basket to hop after the pretty shiny thing. Then, as if remembering her eggs, she grabbed the shell out of Hers' hand and hopped back into the basket. U'wa smiled, glad his ploy had worked at least somewhat. "Alright.. Peniath... I think we're ready..." He shifted nervously in his seat. Peniath ruffled her wings happily, and took off, circling around the gather as she called out her message. Hellooooo Everyone!!! Mine's huntyrePet has some pretty eggs! You want them don't you? Come get them theeeeeen! Oh Oh! And Bring something shiny! like a pebble! Pleeeeeeeeeeease! She then called out the location that U'wa's stall was at, making sure everyone knew it was on the south end of the area, before circling back to land a little ways off. Didn't I do good?!
Pop Rocks Egg(Reserved for Zero) A black egg covered in small spots of various colours that almost seem to explode in place. This egg has a rough, bumpy shape.
Fuzzy Peach Egg A round, yellow and orange egg that seems to swirl with colours. Theres a strange pattern to the shell that makes it look soft and fuzzy to the touch.
Cinnamon Heart Egg A relatively plain egg with a sharp red colour. It is a rather strange shape, with an extra little lump on the side, giving it an almost heart like appearance.
Lemon Drop Egg A round, yellow egg, with a sprinkling of white along one side of it. The other side of the egg is somewhat flat. Peppermint egg A very normal egg, as far as shape goes. Three colours spiral down from the top of the egg in stripes of red, white and green.
Candy Corn Egg A simple egg that seems to be built in layers; yellow on the bottom, white on the top and a thick strip of orange all around the egg's middle. This egg is longer and thinner than the rest of its siblings.

Vl’kanMine, I still don’t understand the point in all this. Twisting his head almost quizzically, Thormyth looked curiously at the colorful patch of parchment His had stretched out on one of the tables in the kitchen. That’s right, the lovely garnet from Ista was currently sat, odly quietly for once, in the heart of the dining hall at a table His had felt was appropriate for his work. The young Lord smirked and glanced over to his crimson companion. “To be honest, my friend, to some there might be no point to what I’m doing. I, however, enjoy painting. My mother taught me and I’d hate to lose any of my skills now that we’re here in Trelis.”
He set his tools down and leaned back in his chair to observe the work he had accomplished so far. It was close to completion but one could tell it was beginning to take on a shape and a life of its own. “Can you tell what it is?” Thormyth, even with a full stomach, had been eying a wandering brown ‘lizard darting around the hall, quite possibly S’val’s troublemaking Reign. With claws flexing, it looked as though the young garnet was contemplating snatching the flit out of the air but of course turned his red streaked gaze back to His when the question was asked. I see the possibility for many things but fire stands out most at this stage. Vl’kan frowned at this and carefully went about wrapping his tools in their leather pouch before gently rolling the picture up. “It’s how I believe you will look fully grown and chewing firestone. Maybe even fighting Thread! Who knows what I might add to it but it’ll be on display for the Fall Gather, that way everyone who sees it will see how fantastic you really are.”
The garnet paused at this new bit of information, of course pleased at the idea before he dipped his head and nipped lightly at the mans shoulder. It was a sign of affection, disguised of course so he would not seem weak in front of others. Then a voice broke into his mind and drew a low growl from his throat. It was no clutch brother or sister of his, so who dared called to him so freely? He listed though and rumbled in amusement at what he was told. There are eggs hatching…huntyre’s from what I’ve been told. They sound intriguing, dangerous possibly. Come Mine, let us see bear witness to these hatching devils.
Vl’kan stretched and watched with mild amusement as Thormyth slinked from the dining hall, hissing at a passing drudge before passing out into the hallway. Well it was too late to run back to his room, so he safely tucked his leather tool case and rolled painting in a little bag and slung it over his shoulders before quickly trotting after his dragonet before he got into any trouble.
It didn’t take the pair long to reach the stall where U’wa and Penaith where set up. Vl’kan raised his hand in greeting and offered the Trelis Weyrling a friendly smile when he got closer. “G’day greenweyrling. Thormyth here informed me that you have a huntyre clutch ready to hatch? As you know we’re Istan and have only heard of huntyres since coming to Trelis. It would be nice to have the chance to raise one.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, red flecked pebble, tossing it in the air a few times as his eyes strayed to where the little huntyre was nestled in her little basket. May I remove the small wherry? It is blocking the eggs and I can only partly see the edges of a black and colorful one. Thormyth huffed, eyes swirling with curiosity as he walked around His and stalked closer to the stall and its owner. He wanted to see these huntyre devils and this feathered beast was in the way!

A couple people had passed by to glance at the clutch, but so far no one had really come to claim one. Then again, the fact no one was taking her clutch from her made the little green and brown huntyre happy. She had grown rather attached to the eggs, especially the shiny ones. U'wa jumped as a dragonet.. a rather large.. scary... red dragonet came towards his stand. A garnet.. just like his sisters, but he had heard stories of the Istan Garnet and to put it bluntly, he was terrified of him. Oh oh! LookMine! What a pretty Garnet! He's so much cuter than my clutchbrother isn't he?! Peniath commented out loud, no doubt reaching the mind of both Thormyth and his rider. U'wa shot the green a nervous look but, after a gulp of air, replied to the man. "G-G'day.. Sirs..." He stuttered, addressing both rider and dragonet, "Y-you can have a-any egg. They should... um.. hatch soon... Really good p-pets..." He wanted to answer any questions Vl'kan had, but was really too nervous. He stood up, intending to get Fari out of the basket, but the Forest had become rather occupied by the pretty red stone the man was playing with. She chirped, cocking her head to the side as her gaze followed the pebble. Chirping again, she hopped out of the basket, scuttling across the table in an attempt to see the pretty stone up close, leaving the eggs unattended and ready for the taking. [[OOC: Lark has the info on your baby Zero, so she'll have to hatch it out when she gets back on ]]

It was fortunate that someone had finally come around. After all, this egg was hatching! The black shell shook fervently as the hatchling inside attempted to get out. A squeak came from it, then a chirp. It wanted out! She wanted out! The huntyre inside crooned as a bit of black shell gave way. There was a RedOne outside. The huntyre let a golden, blue eye swirl near the opening before turning her sharp beak to the split again. She wanted out, she wanted ooooouuuut! The female sang, a high soprano that was quite well in tune for someone so newly hatched. Finally, after what seemed just about forever, she pushed out one fuzzy wing stub. The downy thing was wet with egg goo, but she didn't care. She wanted out, and she wanted out now. Tipping her head back, she pushed it out of the shell as well. Of course, she had to look around first though before doing anything! Chirping, she looked at the GreenThing. Nope! That was not what she had wanted before. Chirping again, the huntyre turned her head this time to the RedOne. Oh yes, that's what she was looking for. She crooned, happily jumping near the Garnet without fear. Didn't he see how wonderful and fearsome a warrior he was? She did! She was his, and he was Hers. Looking up at the BigThing, she gave a shriek. HERS! The chick stumbled as she ran forward, wobbling more like it, and fell onto the ground. The huntrye chick let out a pitiful croon then, whining unhappily. Hers! Hers needed to help her. Please, couldn't he help her with how wonderful and big he was? Then she could help him, she'd do anything thing for Hers. She looked at Thormyth with rainbow eyes and cawed, then she looked at her clutchmother who was hopping to the RedShiny. HER REDSHINY! The chick hissed a loud shriek and flapped her useless wings. The stubby things couldn't help her yet, they didn't have proper feathers till later! Her talons weren't even much better being still soft from the egg goo. Both rider and garnet looked up when Peniath commented on Thormyth’s apparent looks over the other Trelis garnet. His attention was immediately captured by the soaring green and he rumbled lowly in approval. Good. This one would stay on his good side for the time being at least. Hello sweet Green Peniath and you are correct…I outdue all of my garnet brothers in appearance and stature. His voice was almost sickly sweet as he spoke to the airborne Peniath, easily allowing his thoughts to be heard by all present.
Vl’kan scowled and tapped the garnet on the snout in reprimand. “Be nice,” he hissed. Before he could say much more however the egg that Thormyth had previously spoken about began to rattle and shake once its clutch mother hopped away down the length of the table. Both males quieted as they eagerly watched the egg hatch but not without Thor quickly snapping the tip of his tail against the back of His’ legs just to get the last word in, so to speak.
So they watched as one fuzzy red stub poked through the dark shell followed by a pair of dark talons and equally dark beak. Oh but she was a beauty once she finally managed to break fully from her prison and show them all her beautiful colors. Vl’kan smiled gently at the little chick as she cheeped and started to sing. What came next though nearly left him on the ground in stitches.
The young huntyre, seemingly to ignore Vl’kan completely, laid her big blue swirling eyes on Thormyth and all but threw herself at the feisty young dragon. Instantly Thor lowered his head to the ground and sniffed the eggwet and fuzzy creature before recoiling with a snort in disgust. Still though the young huntyre waddled after her new best friend chirping and trilling the entire time. With one claw raised he used it to slide the hatchling away from him and closer to His. “Sorry my friend,” Vl’kan began with a laugh. “But I think she likes you.”
Growling at the fuzzy creature, Thormyth shot a glare at His. This is no huntyre, what a foolish name. It’s fuzzy and soft…Perhaps it is defective. I shall eat it then. Eyes wide Vl’kan hurriedly snatched the little chick from the ground just as Thormyth’s jaws were getting ready to close around her. “Bad dragon. Pets are another thing you can add to your list of things you are not allowed to eat.” Her soft baby down ticked the palm of his head and the man chuckled softly at the feeling as he gently rubbed her under her chin after giving her the red shiny to help soothe her about almost getting eaten, which she didn’t seem to pleased about. “I think…ah, Starfire is a fitting name. What do you think Thor?” The garnet said nothing but gave yet another huff of annoyance at the situation as he eyed the squishy creature in His’ hands. He was still hungry after all.

Petal nervously approached the Huntyre stand. The young girl had never been to a Gather like this before, at least not as a Weyrling. She left Estorth back at the Weyr, but she wanted to get a companion for her Green. Firelizards and puppies seemed so normal and Petal didn't want one of them despite seeing how pretty they were. The girl took a breath and said, "May I have that egg please?" She pointed to The Cinnamon Heart Egg and waited. The egg's shell was very attractive. With a little help she had gotten some Huntyre food. Now the girl waited for a response.
She did not see anything for a price and if there was one truly hoped that she had enough marks for a Huntyre egg. The Cinnamon Heart Egg was the one she wanted a lot, but if she didn't have enough marks then Petal knew that she may not get the egg before she could get enough. With a shaky breath she drew in what little confidence she had. It was still a new concept to her, being a Weyrling. Estorth had surprised her alot as Petal had not expected to Impress. She fell in love with the Green right away, but every day she expected to wake up in the Candidate Barracks and not in the Weyrling Barracks so waking up to seeing Estorth gave her a start.

"O-Oh! H-hello Miss..." U'wa stumbled over his words as a second person approached. This one, if he remembered correctly, had impressed at the last hatching, in fact, was she his sister's ex-roommate? U'wa couldn't remember clearly, but Peniath sure could, recalling the memory from her rider's head easily. He picked up the egg she had pointed to and was about to hand it over when it started to shake right in his grasp. Panicking and not sure what to do, he simply put the egg down on the table and stepped back, terrified that he had somehow hurt it. Nearby, Fari squaked, realizing she hadn;'t gotten any bribes for that one! How cruel! Then the wobbling of the oddly shaped egg intensified. It wanted out! A fine crack appeared on the shell, followed by another, and another, until the egg split right down the middle, looking all the world like a broken heart. A gooey ball of fluff shook and stepped out of the remnants as best he could; for he was definately male, couldn't you see that? He shook again, trying to remove the feeling of goo off his stumpy little wings. Looking back over his shoulder, he noticed just how much gunk was left on him. Eeeeeeewwww! His body language seemed to scream. He needed to find someone to clean him off STAT before.. before someone else saw him in such a disgraceful state! Oh how could he live with himself if he wasn't always perfect!? Turning angry eyes onto the people at the booth, he spotted a young woman. She was rather tidy looking, he thought, she would clean him up just right wouldn't she, and be at his beck and call like she was supposed to. His eyes whirled rainbow as he stared at her, willing her to come pick him up. Seriously. Any time now. She didn't expect him to do everything himself now, did she? Eliitra looked at Swift. Hmm... Maybe another Huntyre would be welcomed.
NW! You'll have NTM! Oooo... Look at that hot garnet right there! WCGT, but NGH.
Ellitra sighed, shaking her head. "Nevinth... I can't understand you at all when you talk like that. Can you grow up, please?" When was her dragoness ever going to be normal? It was her brother Thormyth. She had thought he was hot before. When he had tried to lure her over on their Hatching day. Yeah. No. She did not like that dragon very much... but then... Vl'kan didn't really deserve what he got because of his dragon. "Come on Nevinth."
Eliitra walked up to the stall while Nevinth crooned at Thormyth. Well, what do we have here. Looks like a seriously hot garnet to me, she said, her head held high. He was so HOT!
Eliitra watched her bonded from the corner of her eye, but went up to the stall. "Hi," she said then looked over the eggs. This egg hadn't hatched yet... "You think I could take the little one from this egg?" She was pointing to the Peppermint Egg.

Oh and so suave too! Peniath purred to Thormyth, circling down to land near the stands and crooing with pleasure as Her's pet's eggs hatched out two funny little bird blobs. A third was soon to follow too. One of the eggs, a colourful, had started rocking and U'wa was worried that is would hatch with no one to bond to. However, his mind was soothed as Eliitra, one of the Istans, approached the stall and just happened to pick that one! U'wa nodded quickly, happy that she had come just in time, and plucked the egg out of the nest so that it would have lots of room to hatch. The egg wigled and wobbled, and slowly, slowly, a crack appeared, followed by a little beak. There it was almost... almost... stuck?! A tiny, annoyed squawk escaped the shell, followed by more frantic shaking, but nothing it did seemed to make a difference. Fari, rather worried about her egg, hopped over to it and landed a good peck on the shell, chirping victorious when it finally split, revealing the little hatchling within. Actually, little was an understatement. This little guy was tiny, even for a lunar, and he was.not.happy! He rounded on his mother, puffing up as best as a naked little hatchling could. How dare she help him! He could have done it! He was just resting that was all! Stupid mother embarassing him like that. He squeaked and squawked at her angrily, to which Fari tolerated only a moment before screeching back. The Peppermint Lunar jumped back in fright, tripping over his own feet and falling right into Eliitra. Oh! Oh she was here to protect him! Right? Right? Eyes sparkling with the colours of the rainbow, he nuzzled into his Eliitra before shooting a glare back at his mother. Evil, horrible scaring female... he cheeped, sounding all the world like he was mumbling angrily. Eliitra smiled and gently petted the fluffy ball of feathers. Swift looked down at what he supposed was his little brother. Hmm... Two Huntyres. Did anyone else in the Weyr have two huntyres? Eliitra wondered quietly as she tried to comfort the little one. He was going to be small. Very small indeed. But, Swift would definitely be helping her to work with him. What with how he already had his training and growing up. Though... This one didn't seem like he would like it so much. Like the help. What should she name him... "Pryd. (Pride) All because you seem to be too prideful to accept help from anyone but me." Nevinth huffed. Hers had gotten another bird! Ugh! ------------------- Daedra had thought about going after the flitter eggs, but for her, she would always appreciate Huntyres. Sure, she had wanted a flitter for some time, but... Well... She really couldn't get over her love of Huntyres. Perhaps K'lin would consider getting one if Massai clutched in the future... And maybe she would get a flitter at some point too. She smiled very softly at the thought of her weyrmate. She felt lucky to have him. Massai, as per usual, was sitting on her shoulder and stopped, giving a soft kaw at hte site of eggs. She wanted to have her own chicks some day... But, unlike what her bird was thinking, Daedra was thinking it would be nice to have another one. Perhaps a male... Another Forest could be a bit of a hadful, but she supposed that it wouldn't be too bad. She veered off, walking to the stall. "Greetings, U'wa," she said, recognizing him, though it was unlikely he would recognize her. "Which egg looks like it'll hatch next...?" she wondered allowed, looking at them seriously. "How about... that one?" she asked, pointing to the Lemon Drop Egg.

"That's a really pretty name," U'wa said softly, pleased that another of Fari's eggs had successfully hatched and impressed. So enthralled he was with the newest pairing that at first he didn't notice the arrival of a rider, causing him to jump with a squeak when she spoke. He looked her over, blushing furiously as he discovered he was unable to recall her name. "Uh-uh... H-Hi..." He wanted to ask her name but felt stupid for it. Oh how Father would have [unished him for not knowing! He shivered lightly in his seat at the memories. However, it seemed she had moved n quickly, thankfully, and had picked one of the eggs. A still one in fact. U'wa plucked it out of the basket and, like with the eggs before it, placed it on the table for her to either take or leave to let it hatch. He gulped as the egg remained still. Oh no.. had he given out a dud egg?! Fari hopped over to it and cheeped, as if she was encouraging the little one within. The yellow and white egg twitched slightly. Oh no! Had it's time come?! It wasn't ready for this! Oh no it was not! How could they expect it to be! but.. but wait... thats just it... they expected it. The Lemon Drop hatchling had a reputation to uphold! The egg shook fervently for a few moment before a chunk popped off the side. Oh... the world was scary... look at all those eyes peering down... waiting for it to come out and be what it was supposed to be. It couldn't do it! The hatching seemed to ram itself against the other edge of the egg, causing it to topple backwords, effectively causing the rest of the shell to break away, leaving a soggy hatchling unprotected on the table. YIKES! He cheeped before trying to wobble back under the largest piece. How undignified! He wasn't supposed to be like this! He was supposed to be manly and powerful and strong! And he was! Really... if you looked past his quivering form. U'wa couldn't help the chuckle that escaped his lips as he watched the little hatchling hide, but he wasn't expecting the baby to launch itself away from the egg at the strange sound. Help help! He cried, wobbling into Daedra and looking up at her piteously. Then, as if remembering that he was a Rainbow, he struck a pose. He was a man dammit! A proud, respectable, EEP- WHAT WAS THAT?! Massai looked down at the little rainbow one and cheeped softly and watched as the little Rainbow flinched again. She gave a harrumph. He was weak compared to her. Pretty... but weak. Daedra poked Massai chidingly who flapped her wings and looked at Daedra somewhat annoyed, but stopped what she was doing and watched hers pick up the little rainbow and gently stroke his wet body. "Do you have a towel or rag back there, U'wa...? Oh. I'm Daedra by the way, rider of Mrith. Well met." She looked back at her little rainbow boy, humming softly, her somewhat more tender and motherly side showing through. He ducked down under her hand as if it would protect him before trying to once more look like a strong rainbow. "What to name you, little one." He ducked at the sound of her voice again, which made her laugh softly. He peeked his head back out and looked at her, chirping. "How about... Aerio (Air-ree-o)... I don't know why that comes to mind, honestly... but I think it works for you." She smiled and gently rubbed his soft and wet body. He needed to be dried off, most definitely. She also needed to make sure to keep him warm.
"Well, Massai, Mrith... We have a new member to our family. We better take good care of him!" She smiled. "Thank you, U'wa."
