Saka was excited, completely, entirely excited. The young weyrling was practically jumping out of her skin with it. Beside her, the three month old Arreth wasn't much better. SakaMineLove! Oh SakaMine! They're going to love this, I know this. Yep, your PuppyDragon knows this like he knows nothing else. The darkly marked blue chirped happily as did the lazuli on her shoulder. Takorah was spiralling above them, being moody yet again.
The weyrling could care less though. She skipped to where Alyara was talking with Inali. Inclining her head politely to the Weyrlingmaster and Weyrwoman, the young redhead smiled wide. "Woah there Sakalas. What's going on?" Ara looked over the excited girl, caught between worry and laughing. Surely she wasn't happy over just nothing, or was she worried? Or what...the greenrider was too busy thinking about the betweening lesson she had just given Loraketh's weyrlings. Not all of them had made it to the other side.
It was a loss she was now speaking to the Weyrwoman about. Saka brought the rider out of her thoughts though as she swung a basket onto the table. Inside was a blanket covering something. Curiousity seemed to fill the Weyrwoman first, and she pulled aside the clothe and smiled. "Where'd you find these?" The young woman looked at the redheaded blue weyrling with amused eyes. "I found them on the beach. There aren't many, but there is a Gold egg too see?!?"
Saka practically trilled as she pointed to the largest egg of the bunch, which when she counted again, added up to seven. She had found a flitter clutch on the beach while looking for shells to sell. The Gold who had clutched it was too busy getting ready probably for them to hatch, after all they were already very hard and starting to move. "I think they need homes now though." Inali nodded as she let one finger trail down the gold egg's side. "Yes, they're hard enough to hatch now."
Shayde was already humming, as were the other flits lounging around Alyara and Inali. Ghost was being quieter of course, but even the Weyrwoman's strange green was sounding the hatching song now. Aries, the gold belonging to Ara, and her bronze son Excalibur crept closer to look at the eggs as they began to rock. Inali reached out for her Queen's mind, waking her from her sleep on the Weyr Heights. Loraketh love, can you announce we have seven firelizard eggs. There is a Gold egg among them too.
The Queen warbled, happy enough to pass along the message. Attention all! I know it is early in the day for people to be around, though that may be a good thing for this....My Lady says that there is a firelizard clutch of seven. Find them yourselves, first come, first serve. The Queen crooned mischievously and then tapped the minds again. Oh, and there's a Gold egg among them. She laughed as there was an instant chatter among the dragons. Already firelizards were arriving around the Weyrwoman, Weyrlingmaster and Weyrling.
Did you have to say it like that? Inali sighed, but still smiled as she scolded her gold. What? I said what you asked me to. So I made it a bit of a game for them, it's a Gather after all. Inali laughed, knowing that Loraketh was right.
Ooc: Okay, I'm not saying anything about the eggs other than what's above. There are seven, they are somewhere in the middle of the Gather, and there is a Queen. I'll list names of the eggs, but that's it. It really is a game.
P.S. Since Akira was really wanting to do a flit clutch, and I was planning this as a surprise anyway, I'm going to pm her most of the flits to hatch out. Plus, she was nice enough to let me do the wher hatching by myself. So, yeah. Flit babies!

Cassim raised his green-brown head as the Big Queen's voice reach His. He could tell from her feelings that His, Yufa, didn't feel any need to go try to find the eggs. She was more than happy with the little Epidote she had impressed in the spring. Cassim, on the other hand, was in no way please. For three months now he had had to tread carefully whenever the Mean Red was around. His eyes whirled unhappily towards Braymoth, who was currently snapping at some poor insects that flew close to him. No... Cassim was tired of being constantly snapped at, and ordered around by the dragon. It was exhausting! He sent waves of love and wanting to His, urging her in his own quiet way to seek out the eggs. She rested a hand on the little flit head.
"Hush now Cassim, I would not even know where to look. See," She nodded up towards the Weyrheights, "Queen Loraketh is way up there." The flit huffed, which was a pretty interesting feat, given he was currently occupied with humming. Braymoth chose that time to draw nearer, shoving his face, maw open, near the epidote and scaring him up into the sky.
Yes little snack, fly off and find them. Hurry now, before I eat you instead! The garnet chuckled deep in his throat, a horrid, ugly sound, and took off after the flit. Yufa ran after them, apologizing quickly to the poor young boy who was bowled over by the garnet, though luckily uninjured. Running after them, she was suprised to see Cassim's sense of direction was pretty good, assuming it was the Weyrwoman who had the eggs. Braymoth didn't hesitate before going over to them, reaching his mouth with the intention of grabbing one up.
"No! Braymoth get away from there!" She piped up, grabbing hold of his neck in an attempt to pull him away. The garnet hissed back, intending to scratch her for her insolence, but noticed his clutchbrother nearby. Hmph, he sighed, he had better things to do with his time; like harassing blues. Yufa bowed deeply to the three women, ashamed of the garnet's behaviour, "I am so sorry, My Ladies. Please forgive us for the intrusion." She rose, red-faced and glanced at the eggs, wondering if the addition of another flit would in fact be helpful... poor Cassim did so much for her and she felt terrible for him having to always deal with Braymoth.. but after the stunt the red dragon pulled, she really couldn't ask for one could she. Maybe if she just watched instead... She glanced away, unsure of what to do. That Maple Leaf Egg was awfully cute though...
Braymoth, meanwhile, had made his over to where Arreth was, posing in such a way as to tower over the blue. Ahh.. my dear, dear brother... Yours should have brought one of the eggs to Mine. It would have saved us so much trouble... You will do as I want next time, won't you, Little Blue.

G'daro awoke to clouds on the horizon. He put on his clothes and tied on his cloth. Good morning, my Banemith. he said to his sleeping brown. Banemith yawned. Good morning, G'daroMine. he answered. Fizgig awoke and jumped onto G'daro's shoulder, rubbing his head and neck against G'daro's neck. He scratched Fizgig's chin and the trio headed off to whatever lay ahead.
G'daro, Banemith, and Fizgig had just heard of a thing called a "Gather" and G'daro decided to go see what all commotion was about. When they arrived, they were stunned. There were lots of people and stalls selling their wares. They walked around, gazing at some of the items for sale. Soon they came across a sort-of familiar face. It was a garnet and his rider.
G'daro flattened a cow-lick and approached the girl. Banemith perked up and silently called out: Brother! He approached his garnet brother and gave him a nod of his head towards his rider. This is G'daroMine. Go on, Mine, say hello. But he was busy talking to the garnet's rider, about things he could not understand.
So, Banemith turned his attention to what his brother was focused on: a clutch of firelizard eggs. Curious, he took the Autumn Winds Egg and placed it onto G'daro's boots. G'daro looked down and chuckled. Well, well. What do we have here? he said to Banemith. He picked up the egg and studied it. He nodded, said goodbye to the garnet and his rider and the trio walked to explore to other parts of the Gather.

(ooc: be a little careful about just taking things and what not phantom, it is a kind of power-playing, even if the egg's yours...anywho...BABY!) The egg had no sooner been picked up then it started to crack. Banemith had unknowingly plucked none other than the Gold Egg from the basket. Inali laughed as the weyrling simply went on his way, probably not even recognizing the fact. She would be hungry for sure, but someone would help him out. The important thing was dealing with the crowd that was coming their way. Already the Weyrwoman could see it coming. Enough about that one though, there needed to be more about the Gold Egg! The little Queen inside huffed, it wasn't like she looooved attention, but a little bit wasn't bad either now was it? The egg seemed to croon as it cracked along the shining gold surface. Air! She could feel air! The Queen seemed to laugh at this new sensation, but wait...it was...weird. She finally got to poking her snout through. It was a pale white gold, lined with veins of a yellow gold. It was almost as if she were fine silk with embroidered vines all around her face, legs, neck, wings and tail. Turning spinning eyes on the world, the Queen puzzled at this strange thing. It was so...weird! She shivered, she liked her egg better. Chirping, she attempted to crawl back inside only to reveal the rest of her body from the egg shards that still clung to it. Snorting, she flicked the goop off. Fine then. Craning her neck around, she looked at the nearby stalls. Something smelled good, she was hungry. Her mouth opened, and she was ready to trill, but something stopped her. There was a growling of a canine nearby. The sound grated against her ears, making her squawk. That's what was bothering her! Hissing, she snuggled against Hers more. Wouldn't he protect her? The barking, it hurt her, and those red bit of clothe blowing in the air....she tasted ichor when she saw them. Why? The overload of senses had her keening unhappily. Settling herself though, the Queen shook her wings out and nuzzled her head against the weyrling's arm. Hers was here though. Hers was her safety net. Hers would protect her. Besides, she was a Queen, she shouldn't be frightened by anything. Not that she was frightened...she was unsettled. Yes, unsettled was a much better way of explaining it. Autumn Winds Egg Personality: Gentle, Prideful, Curious, Gets upset easily Appearance: She's a light, white-gold color with veins of yellow-gold all around her face, neck, legs, tail and wings. She's a medium sized Gold, but will stay smaller for a while longer than most would. She has overly large wings as well, and dainty head and feet. She's very feminine and cat-like in how she reacts and moves. Note: She has a mental disorder called synesthesia. It means that she'll mix together certain senses like sight and taste, and hearing and touch. link is a Wiki on it in case you're curious. Hope you like her as much as I do.

I love that you’re just as excited as I am Mine! How often do we get to go to a gather? Who do you think we’ll meet there? What do you think they’ll be selling? All Raksha could do was laugh at her white’s enthusiasm. She was excited though, he was right. There were so many things she could draw there, and so many things she had the option of purchasing with the few marks she’d saved up. Hopefully she’d find something to her liking. She had a feeling though that Kyrenth was going to spot something shiny, and then she’d wind up buying it for him for entertainment’s purposes. She smiled to herself warmly, patting the white’s neck as he came in for a neat landing. The dragon back winged, not stirring up much dust. Being smaller than the other dragons had its benefits, one of which was his being able to land almost anywhere.
”Good job!” Raksha complimented him, leaning forward to hug onto the neck she was seated upon. She loved to give him hugs just about as much as he loved to receive them. Kyrenth rumbled amusedly, raising one front paw, and then the other. He almost looked to be prancing, or kneading the ground. Raksha sat up and swung down from her spot. She didn’t need any assistance down. She took a few steps back until she was in front of the white, facing him. She knew that he wanted to come with her amongst the throng of people, but he wouldn’t be able to. She wouldn’t stray too far; she couldn’t bear to leave him alone with nothing to do. Maybe he could find some flitt’s to play with. Almost as if on cue, Rask burst from /between./ The brown chirruped a few times, rubbing himself against the side of Kyrenth’s face. The two got along so well. Kyrenth was a flitt magnet, she always came back to find him playing with a hoard of them. A smile lit her face, and she reached out to rest a hand on the white’s snout. She couldn’t wait to see what the various booths had to offer, or what new people she could meet to drag around the gather with her. Her reluctance to leave her dragon was obvious, mostly because she hadn’t moved. She didn't have the heart to tell him that he had to stay behind.
RakshaMine, you are looking at me as if I am going to disappear forever. I shall be here waiting for you, go and have fun! I demand it. He didn’t sound at all disappointed. He sat himself down to emphasize the point that he’d wait.
”I’ll bring you back something,” she assured him, adjusting the bag at her side that contained her sketchbook and writing utensils. Rask curled up atop Kyrenth’s head, deciding to rest until His returned. With a pleasant wave, Raksha was off.
”So many things to see,” she announced to no one in particular, moving around and in-between people that blocked her way. She wasn’t sure what she wanted to look at first! She supposed she’d just keep on walking and see where she winded up.
There were a few people towards the centre of the gather as she passed on through that seemed to be leaning over to look at something. Her curiosity was peeked. She crept on over, finding herself in front of the Honeysuckle Egg. Her gaze scanned over all of the other eggs that were laid out. The shells were so pretty! There was such an assortment of colors. Rask’s shell had been more of a solid color. It had still been pretty in her opinion. Were these eggs available for anyone to take? Her gaze settled on the egg she’d unconsciously knelt before. ”Excuse me?” she said to the girl that was standing awfully close to the clutch. She decided to assume, for the time being, that they were hers. Wait, that was the Weyrwoman. ”Is it all right if I...?” she trailed off, pointing to the Honeysuckle egg. ”I’ve never really thought about having a second flitt, mostly because Kyrenth and Rask get along so well, but I think Rask would really benefit from another flitt being around. If not, I completely understand Weyrwoman.” She blinked her eyes hopefully, but she would understand if the eggs were reserved for someone else. Maybe they’d let her hang around and draw the newborn flitt’s as they hatched! There was another girl standing by the goldrider, and she wondered if she'd asked the wrong person.
She wasn't nervous over being in the presence of the Weyrwoman. Raksha was far too social to ever stop herself over something as silly as a persons rank. If the Weyrwoman said she could, then she'd have to summon Rask to check their new friend out!

The Maple Leaf Egg started to rock very slowly, then eventually gained momentum until spider web cracks appeared, and the egg exploded open. The brown flit started to grumble unhappily about the situation he found himself in. This just would NOT do! He needed to be cleaned. He was all sticky and very unhappy. He turned his brown head, and looked for someone to clean, and feed him. He trilled happily when he finally laid eyes on the one who would fix his situation. The very large brown firelizard tried to walk towards Yufa, grumbling and growling the entire time. His overly large wings kept getting in the way, and kept making him trip. He finally had enough of this. He sat down, and refused to move until His cleaned and fed him. Nope, nothing was going to get him to move an inch until Yufa made everything right. Not even his clutch sisters or brothers. He crooned softly to the girl, trying to get her to hurry up! Maple Leaf Hatchling Size: 30in. When Fully Grown Appearance: This brown flit is as large as a brown can get. That's not the best part, the best part is that his wings are two sizes to big for him, and will stay that way through out his life. Personality: The Maple Leaf brown is a very, very picky firelizard. If things aren't just right, he throws a temper-tantrum until their fixed. He acts all big and bad, but in all reality he's a scaredy-cat at heart. Just about anything can scare this large male. Even the tiniest noise can make him jump, and try to hide. He is also very impatient, and doesn't like to be made to wait for anything, or anyone. That's the other thing that can send this firelizard into a tizzy.

G'daro, Banemith and Fizgig were looking at some woven baskets, when G'daro felt a stirring in the egg Banemith picked out. He watched as a light, white-gold firelizard emerged from the egg. The firelizard nuzzled her head against her arm, frighted from all the new senses flooding her mind so quickly. G'daro gently petted in the spot between her horns as Fizgig cooed softly, almost comforting the new gold. It seems the she has chosen you, G'daroMine. Banemith said. I guess she has. G'daro replied. He thought about a name for the new queen, then came up with the best name of all. "Does Bellatrix sound good to you?" G'daro asked the queen. The gold looked up into his eyes, her eyes whirling in a rainbow of color. He smiled. "Bellatrix it is!" he announced and the four headed off in search of new adventures.

"Oh my" Yufa exclaimed as the egg she had been glancing at cracked apart, revealing a beautifully coloured brown spilled out. She muffled a chuckle of amusement at the little flit... his wings seemed to be way too large for him, but that was likely just an illusion from the large amount of egg goop covering his large body. She blinked down at him as he spread himself out and began moving around. He really was large wasn't he? If it weren't for his colour he could have been mistaken for a bronze easily. She jumped as the little creature fixed his eyes on her. Did this mean what she thought it meant? She felt Cassim launch off her shoulder, but paid no mind for the moment, instead keeping her eyes on the brown. When he crooned at her, she couldn't stop herself from reaching into her handbag for a handkercheif and gently reached over in an attempt to clean some of the yucky goo off him.
"There there.... we'll have you all clean shortly." She spoke softly, not wanting the cutie to leave her, since she didn't have any food to give him. Then a small pop was heard as Cassim reappered from between, a small fish dangling from his claws. The Maple Leaf Brown jumped, letting loose a little squeak as the appearance of the Epidote startled him. "Oh no.. little one calm down... hush.. hush..." She spoke even softer, holding out the little morsel for him to eat as Cassim disappeared for another one. Although, she thought, Little one was definately not the right term for him. He swallowed the food quickly, his eyes shining rainbow as she reached out to continue cleaning him. She picked him up, earning a little squawk of protest, but havign him closer made cleaning easier.
"There now... isn't that much better?" She asked as the final glop of goop was wiped off. He would still need a bath.. but all in all he was pretty clean. Another reappearance of Cassim made the brown jump again, this time trying to hide in her dress, but the arrival of food did help to rectify that a bit. Smiling softly, Yufa stroked his back as he swallowed. Now all he needed was a name... Glancing over him, she realized his colour reminded her of something... Oh! "Javor?" She asked, recalling one of the Hold cats that had taken a fancy to her as a child. Yes.. that would do. "Thank you, My Ladies," She said calmy, curstying lightly before stepping away. She felt Braymoth make a comment about how "tasty the new morsel looked", but brushed him aside for now.
[[Thanks for such a cutie my lovesssss!]]

The Honeysuckle Egg rocked slowly, as though it was testing it's limits. It suddenly stopped when a very large, spider web crack appeared around the top of the egg. Then, all of a sudden the egg just fell apart, reveling a small, honey colored bronze male. He shook himself out, chattering to himself the entire time as he tried to get the pieces of egg, and egg goop off of his hide and his wings. This was no way for a King to enter the world. He needed His, His would fix this! The small bronze crooned plaintively at Raksha. Yes, she would do, she would clean him! Then, he just fell silent, as his small stomach started to rumble very loudly. He chirped, and then rolled over onto his side, to stare in confusion at his stomach. This wasn't right! He shouldn't be making these noises! He was a King for crying out loud! He hopped up, and tried to flap his wings, which were currently full of egg goop. When that didn't work, he snorted and looked sadly at His. Honeysuckle Hatchling Size: 32in. When Fully Grown Appearance: He's on the small side of the bronze spectrum, but that doesn't bother him one bit. His tail is also a lot shorter than normal. Nothing happened to him to cause this, it's perfectly normal looking, just really short. Personality: He can be a very sweet, and charming firelizard. Don't let this fool you though. He is an EXTREME flirt, and let's no female get away. Well, until he finds another pretty female anyways. He likes to push, and push, until he finds the limits of people's patience. As soon as he learns how far he can push without getting in trouble, he can be a very devious male. He likes to get what he wants, and he uses his knowledge of how far to push people to get it. He's also a very big suck up, and does everything he can to keep His happy with him.

Aela headed to the Firelizard stall. Three of the seven had found their bonded and Aela missed out on the Gold Firelizard, but that was not the one she had set out for anyway. When she reached the stall her eyes landed on the Chaning Grass Egg, after a bit of searching. The egg seemed a bit pretty. The girl loved how the Firelizards colors seemed odd. The egg that her eyes had found was pretty. All the girl could do was wait to see what was inside and if she could have the egg.
Aela felt the excitement of Talath within her head. The Sub-Queen was busy elsewhere admiring everything. Aela was glad she had brought the Obsidian. It would be a good experience for the young Dragon. Aela adored Talath and did what she could to keep the Sub-Queen happy. This Gather was one of the few she had gone to since she and Talath became lifemates. A shiver excitement was shared between Rider and Dragon. The Gather was an interesting one and Aela could just see Talath oooing and awing over anything that was pretty.

The Changing Grass Egg was finally ready to grace the world with it's appearance. A very loud hissing could be heard from within the egg as it rocked back and forth ferverantly. It was as if the hatchling inside the egg, wasn't quite strong enough to make it break open. Soon, a very unhappy roar was eminating from within the small, egg. That was followed by very loud scratching noises. Which would mean that the creature in side the egg was trying to claw it's way out. The egg was now rocking back and forth so hard, that it actually managed to roll itself onto it's side. Then it preceded to roll towards the edge of the table. It was rolling so quickly, that it fell of before anyone would have even noticed the small egg was missing. It broke open upon hitting the ground, revealing a tiny green firelizard. What stood out about the green, was that one of her eyes was bleeding, and had a small piece of egg shell stuck in it. She crooned sadly, and shook her head. She was trying to make the pain go away, but was unsucsessful. She started to back away quickly, again trying to escape the pain. That's when she ran into Aela's foot. She sat down on it. She hissed at whatever it was she was sitting on, and tried to swipe at it with her still egg soft claws. When that was unscussessful, she roared up at it. Even though she couldn't see out of one of her eyes, didn't mean she wasn't going to protect herself. Changing Grass Hatchling Size: 14in. When Fully Grown Appearance: To be totally honest, there really isn't anything really special about this firelizard. She's completely built to proportion. Everything is where it's supposed to be, and it's all to the perfect length. Ok, that's not completely true. She's blind in one eye, and that eye is a milky white in color. Personality: She's a very spunky firelizard. Just because she can't see out of one of her eyes, doesn't hinder this little female one bit. She's about as evil, and commanding as a gold, but she can be a very, very sweet, and loving firelizard as well. She has a habit of throwing fits, and breaking things until she gets her way. After she gets what she wants, she's very grateful, though, there will be times that's hard to come by.

Aela knelt when she saw the Green Firelizard's predicament. "Oh know. Your eye." Tears sprang up and she let them fall unaided. Talath! The girl didn't know how to help a Firelizard as her training had been for people. Aela felt Talath's soothing thoughts flow through her as the Obsidian instructed Aela on what to do.
Do not take it out until I get there. You know what happens when you remove something without properly knowing what is going on. What you need to do first is put pressure around the eye. The Obsidian was calm as she instructed Hers through the process of helping the little Green out.
Aela ripped off a piece of her tunic and pressed it gently on the eye, around the egg shell piece. The Green Hatchling hissed at the pain. Aela then saw the Obsidian land swiftly, but gently near her. From the Obsidian's back came Crest. The Blue Firelizard crooned softly to the Green in hopes of keeping her calm. With the help of Talath, Aela gently pulled the egg shell shard out and quickly pressed the cloth against the eye.
You need to find a way to clean out the eye without getting it into her system. Talath hissed at the closest person walking past and asked for their water. The person saw the situation and quickly gave his water to Aela. Aela had Crest hold the cloth in place while she ripped off another piece and put a little water on it. Then she had Crest remove the cloth and Aela cleaned the blood away. Once it was done she had Talath look it over.
She'll live. She will be blind in one eye, but she'll live.
Thank you Talath, Crest. Without the two of you I wouldn't have known what to do. Aela smiled at her Dragon and Blue Firelizard. With that Aela had managed to find some healing salve and put some on the Green Firelizard's eye. Once that was finished she put another clean cloth on the eye and tapped it on so it would stay. "You need a good name since you were so brave for sitting there while I worked my Healing on you." Brave. Hmmmmm.... That had a lot of good aspects to it. "I know. How about I name you Valient? You were brave for doing that and I commend you for it."
The Green crooned in pain and happiness. The girl she had run into had been devestated about her eye being the way it was. Now all Aela had to do was make sure the eye didn't get infected. Aela had a lot of things to do, not to mention her lessons, her chores, and her socialization. Now she had to take care of Valient's eye to make sure infection didn't set in.
