After the Last Fall, the Weyrs ushered in an era of peace. In response to not needing the dragons and whers as much as in previous turns, their numbers declined. Eventually, there were only a few handfuls of the colors left. Holds stopped tithing as much as before as well, and in consequence disagreements ensued. However, the relative peace stayed. At least until the Red Star was knocked back into orbit by a meteorite.
Many of the holdfolk died in the turns that followed because there weren't enough dragons to protect everyone. In response to this, the five remaining Weyrs of Benden, Ista, Fort, Southern and High Reaches came together and formulated a plan. They'd each send ten dragons back in time, fifty turns before the New Fall started. This would later become known as The Great Fall Back. Two Queens, Urinth and Zetrith were sent with the dragons in the hopes that they'd be able to raise more numbers. Four whers from each Weyr were also sent.
Now back in time, the fifty-two dragons and twenty whers had to search out a place to live. The group had brought plenty of weyrfolk as well to start out, but the question was where would they all go? The answer came in the form of a search wing finding a fairly large island between the North and South Continents. Forming a Weyr in the mountains that arched across the landmass, the two Gold Riders named it Trelis Weyr.
Soon, Sollace Hold was also created and populated with the people that were brought over. Though the going was rough at first, the Weyr and Hold soon had its first clutch on the sands. A good sized one of about 23 eggs, with a gold egg as well. This wasn't the only good news though, not only had more firelizard clutches been found on the warm shores, but a new species of avian was also discovered. Bird-like and incredibly beautiful, the firelizard sized creatures were named Huntyres, and they too could bond with their owners.
Within the passing decades, more and more dragons and whers were hatched, and more children were born to the Hold and Weyr. When it got to the same date that the New Fall would start, a portion of the dragons and whers set out forward again in time, and appeared in front of the congregation of five Weyrs. Here was the numbers they needed and more! Trelis Weyr saved Pern that day, and as a result, the Weyr stayed open officially as its own place.
So many people flocked to the island in the coming turns, that soon another Hold had to be made. This was named Apolla Hold. Things were well, though people still were injured or even died because of the thread fall, the Weyrs and Holds survived. Now, not only had the pass ended, but a new one is creeping ever closer. With two fully grown Golds, and an older juvenile, everyone looked to them for support. The worst possible thing happened on one Winter day though. Gold Mivinth betweened with the passing of her rider Sahelli, Trelis' Weyrwoman.
The next Queen to rise though wasn't the other full grown Gold, but the younger Loraketh. Now, 19 turn old Inali and her 3 turn old dragon are in charge of Trelis Weyr, and everyone holds their breath while the Senior Queen's first clutch hardens on the sands. Though there is no gold apparent, speculation and rumors are flying because the golden mother is extremely protective of two very large eggs.
