January's Announcement!

Alright, hello everyone I have a lot to say here so be patient with me and hang in there. First off, I want to congratulate everyone on a new year and hope everyone the best in the months to come. The next thing I wanted to say was we are almost seven months old *cheers*. Sorry, I'm a little giddy that we're getting closer and closer to being a full year. >.> Anyway, back to business. Things have gotten a bit slower in the week I've been gone, but I'm back and I'm here to change that. There are a few places we have open site-wise that are for people to post in. There are the lessons for the weyrlings and wherlings, as well as a hatching feast currently to respond to. As far as lessons go, get your babies posted in them especially if they are from Loraketh's first clutch. Those are graduating very soon and the greens are able to fly if they have enough lesson posts.

You need 2/3's posted to graduate, and not just an I'm here post, but actually posting a few times to further the lessons. Akira and I will restart the flight lesson for Maelath's weyrlings and the Istan ones since there were few people who were posting to it, and later in that thread we will do a jump to the betweening lesson. Wherlings have a lesson or two that are being run by Zirin. We will have a small, four egg wher hatching coming up with two Kings, a Queen and a Sub-Queen that are available. However, you must have advertised in the ad contest to be eligible. I repeat, I'm changing things, there will be four babies, there will be many candidates. All you have to do is post an ad and then say you posted one with the link. Easy!

Edit: Any wher candidates left over from the ad contest that do not impress to the four babies will be getting a one-on-one thread where they are given an egg that hatches and impresses to them. So in other words, if you advertise at all, you WILL be getting some sort of wheret if you so wish.

The next thing is a fun thing. I very much want to do a Grammy's style awards of the YEAR. So, at the bottom of this post you will see a bunch of different nominations you can pm to a staff member. The staff will then tally them all up in the staff board. Then, we will choose the three top choices for each category and the site will do a poll to see who wins. GET THEM IN ASAP!

What is happening next on Trelis is we're getting a nice easy time to relax a bit, but it won't be without its own fun times. Basically, staff is crossing out the current goldrider idea we had to make room for something that would have happened months from now. We just have to talk about it more. It won't be happening for a couple of months at least since it needs planning, but there will be stuff coming your way. Basically, I'm going to turn over the site to Summer and we're going to have some last minute lessons with the Lightning Strikes to prepare them for graduation. They will then graduate at the Gather and show off their skills in The Games in order to be placed with other riders in the Wings.

We'll have clutches and litters of all kind for sale and give outs as well here, and I think we may see the return of the Kissing Booth even. Okay, lame jokes aside, look out for what's to come. We still have the Beat the Staff going on since neither side has finished all their activities, but it's pretty even so far. Keep getting stuff in and updating your characters. Post to the Questionnaire as well since that helps to give us an idea of where to go and what to do and how to improve. You get marks for these things so ,Yay marks.

Staff has taken a long time thinking this over, but for such a new site we have come to the conclusion that Trelis has a few too many color choices and it has become a potential turn off for guests. Because of this, I have come up with a poll. The top five colors will be the new colors seen in the hatchings to come in ALL THREE bonded types. Meaning dragons, whers, and fire lizards. This does not mean that we will be deleting the non chosen colors, in fact their information will be moved to a new thread and the characters can still be played. They will be seen as flukes since no more will be hatched. However! Later on, months from now, and I do mean MONTHS, if we have a stronger member group and character baseline, staff will slowly start to reintroduce the other colors again.

So please choose wisely. There must be at least one of the three Sub-Queens chosen. The others four choises are up to you, but know that the rank may be changed depending on the range we end up with.

Most friendly: moi! Nagy just joking. I can't decide on who should get this I just love you all so much!

Favorite human of the year: this one has to be j'dol. That one always gets a giggle outta me

Dragon of the year: uh hm. Nevinth! I adore trying to find out what the heck she's saying!

Favorite wher of the year: kesk. Flying baddies. That is all.

Favorite human couple: samara and g'lwein. Who doesn't love two loving homicidal maniacs with concealed weapons who turn into complete teddy bears around each other ?

Favorite bonded couple: has to be stallorth and Loraketh. You can't help but admire stallorth's determination to be a father to her new clutch

Scariest: that little black light. She's the scariest thing we've seen so far. Even out of the garnet pools

Most likely to succeed in life: Iirla. She can charm a guy out of his last wits and being a gold rider who would dare to touch her?

Class clown: another that must go to j'dol. That man makes me giggle.

Pet of the year: now if I was going to vote the way I want to and say my little akiko that wouldn't be fair would it? So I'll settle for trivol. That little blue is as self absorbed as any ametrine's I've seen!!

Most unpredictable character: Iirla. Honestly woman make up your mind!

Most flirtatious character : j'dol. Does this even bare explaining?

Most talkative : uhmmm Eliitra from what I've seen so far of her. She just sorta comes right out and says what she means!

Plot of the year: this has to go to the brown riders plot. This has given us some of my favorite characters to date

Funniest moment: this has to be a tie between Keegan's impression and eulurth trying to eat akiko. Again.

Alright everyone, so far it seems like our five colors are going to be Topaz, Obsidian, Garnet, Ebony and Amethyst. As said before the other colors can still be played, they just won't be hatched or advertised for a while. Now, the Annual of the Year awards do not have to be in until the 28th of this month, but still work on them. Also, if you are interested in getting a wher, especially a high ranking one, please advertise at least once in the contest. That to will end the 28th. Good luck everyone, and don't forget that the Staff vs. Member contest is still going too!
