Name: Ar’rex
Age: 29 turns *Winter*
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Craft and Rank: Born and bred dragon rider!
Appearance:
He’s a slightly tall man, reaching about 5’10” at his full height. Due to the countless years spent with his draconic companion his body has developed a slightly muscular look to it. Yet not overly so because due to his height he can still appear a bit lean and untrained sometimes. A crop of thick black hair sits almost haphazardly on his head, as if it doesn’t know which direction it should lay so it picks all of them at once. Beneath that is a set of piercing blue eyes that always seem to have a spark about them. As if he’s just had a good laugh and his eyes are still betraying him. Along with his eyes displaying this hint of mirth his mouth is usually seen twisted into a sideways little grin, which usually always gets him in some sort of trouble.
Red is his absolute favorite color so he tries to fit it into his daily attire whenever possible. He’s even got a custom set of riding boots with a blood red tint. On his right wrist he sports a dark red leather cuff that has the name of his dragon branded into it. Other then that simple accessory he’s rather plainly dressed, choosing to go for the more casual look then the dressed up, star of the show, even though he is rather fantastic.
Personality:
Nothing about this man screams average. In fact he’s far from it. A little bit of a jokester, mixed with a dash of stubbornness and bravery has come together to form the man known as Ar’rex. Due to his light take on life and how he chooses to handle things it’s safe to say it’s gotten him into a far amount of trouble with his leaders on more then one occasion. Oh but what’s life without a little bit of mischief and fun?
His day doesn’t start until he’s had a least two cups of klah and even then he’s sweet talking the kitchen staff into fixing him a hot mug that’ll last him through the morning. Somewhat quick-witted, he’s not afraid to overstep his bounds and see how far he can get. Angry reactions just fuel his sarcasm and he thrives off it, which is probably why he continues to do what he does. There’s no sign of stopping anytime soon for him either.
On the flip side of that however a little spark of hidden potential shows. Nothing matters more to him than the bond he shares with his beloved dragon. To him it’s the best bond in the world and nothing could possibly compare. That’s why he takes things very seriously when it comes to overlooking the candidates and newly bonded weyrlings. It’s the one aspect in life where jokes are not allowed and everything, everything should be taken very seriously.

Family:
?? -- Mother -- Unknown Green Rider -- Age ??
A’vrik of Bronze Vermyoth -- Father -- 50
A’rin of Blue Neroth -- Brother -- 30
History:
One of two sons born to a green rider and his Father, Ar’rex and his brother spent their youth as Southern’s resident youth troublemakers. The future brown rider never knew his mother but the story goes that the woman had been in a mildly serious relationship with the boys father. The first encounter led to the arrival of Ar’rex’s older brother A’rin. The second, naturally, led to the conception of Ar’rex. However, it was a few hours after Ar’rex was born that the woman died of complications and blood loss.
In the grand scheme of things, finding this out about his mother really didn’t bother him all that much. Why should it? He had never met the woman, the only connection they shared was blood and even that wasn’t as thick as most would think. So Ar’rex and his brother were raised along with the rest of the weyrbrats but unlike most their father chose to play an active role in their lives growing up.
Ar’rex absolutely loved his fathers dragon growing up and would tackle the large bronze at ever chance he got. Even enjoying the times he was allowed to help his father oil the large dragons hide, though he could really only reach half way up the bronzes legs and part of his tail. Oh well, it was the thought that counts right?
It was his love for his fathers dragon that spurred him to dive headlong into the ranks of candidacy. He broke his back toiling in the sands and lessons for nearly two turns until he was 16 and his moment finally came. The two brothers each stood before a small clutch of only 17 eggs, both nervous yet determined to leave with a new partner. A’rin’s wish came true first as the first egg to hatch held a dark blue that was destined to be forever his. Narrowing his gaze, Ar’rex turned back to the remaining 16 and waited.
Wait he did, for it took nearly two candle marks for the entire clutch to hatch. So by the time that last egg wiggled and cracked, Ar’rex was sweating bullets. The long limbed brown tumbled across the sands and keened pitifully, clearly displeased at how his limbs were responding. The hatchling hopped and skittered towards the remaining boys, whining as he dragged his wings across the sands. Ar’rex cocked his head and gazed at the lanky brown curiously. Sure his legs might have been too long for him and so were his wings but he was still a fine looking dragon!
No sooner had those thoughts crossed his mind did the eggwet beast look his way and hop/skittered a little closer to the boy and flashed him those big rainbow eyes. Ar’rex dragged his hand across his face and stared down at the young brown with a look of disbelief. “It makes sense that I would get the resident odd ball. Ah well, lets show ‘em what were made of Sithorath.” From that moment the pair were attached at the hip. Each defending the other when jibes were thrown their way. Ar’rex especially took to defending his companion when insults about his appearance when compared to other browns was brought up.
It’s safe to say that during their weyrling years the pair were usually being scolded for one thing or another but they paid the others no mind. After graduation the two were let loose upon the world and were accepted into their first wing. That’s where they remained for the next 12 turns, just waiting for their next big adventure to unfold.
Dragon Name: Sithorath
Age: 14 Turns
Size: 37.3 ft
Coloring: Brown and hex codes (*whines* I despise looking up hex codes.. *begs* can I find them later?)
Appearance:
Unlike most browns who are bulky and box like, Sithorath is a little on the thin side. Due to this his limbs are a little longer and lankier then usual so it makes him appear even more awkward then most when he’s walking on the ground. So he chooses to go skyward whenever possible. If you look close enough you’ll notice that one wing is actually just a little bit shorter then the other. Not by much mind you, just a little off and it really doesn’t effect his flying abilities all that much but even still if someone were to point it out he would turn very defensive and even slightly snappy. It is a touchy subject.
His hide is scattered mix of dark and light brown, along with a reddish brown hue and in the right light even looking more red then brown in some places. With his age it’s common to have a few scars here and there but his most prominent defect would be the fact that he’s completely blind in his right eye. It’s a stark contrast to his features, having a bright white/grey eye standing out against his dark hide and clashing with its normal counterpart. A mishap that occurred during a mating flight with a particularly feisty green.
Personality:
He’s a bit of everything all rolled into one. Just like His really, which is probably the reason he chose the man. He has his little mood swings and can pout and sulk often when he doesn’t get his way but most of the time he’s a fairly relaxed brown. In fact, he really finds it amusing how others can really work themselves up over nothing. What’s the point? It gets you no where. It’s best just to take life as it is…one giant cosmic joke.
Now this boy may look like he doesn’t eat but don’t let appearances fool you. This guy LOVES his food. If it were up to him he’d spend all day out hunting. For some reason though, no matter how much he sticks in his stomach it just never sticks into his ribs. Call it a speedy draconic metabolism. He doesn’t mind it though. In fact, Sithorath thinks its better this way. After all, who wouldn’t want to chow down whenever they wanted and not look like those other chunky browns? Yeah…he’s a little vain.
