Fari was restless, U’wa mused to himself, looking up from the letter he was writing. The huntyre in question hadn’t really sat still at all today, and he could feel mild discomfort emenating from the bird, slowly growing in strength every time she shifted on her perch or flew to land somewhere else. She cheeped at him as she felt worried, but calming thoughts from the shy boy, but otherwise ignored him in favour of moving again. Not sure what else to do, he took to coninuing his letter. It was to his sister as usual, though writing letters between weyrlings seemed strange. Normally they could just meet, or even speak through their dragons if possible, but with Yufa bonded to that garnet, he didn’t want to cause his sister any more trouble.
Peniath entered the room then, the little green had taken to spending more and more time outside on her own, or with her fellow dragons now that she was quite proficient in the air. Today was no different, she had gone out bright and early for hunting, returned for a quick oil to remove itches, and then she was off again, claiming to be ‘on a secret mission’. Well, whatever kept her happy. Welcome home Peniath, He had the habit of welcoming her every time she returned to the barracks room, to which she always seemed happy to reply to. What are you carrying? He asked, noticing the small basket hanging from her mouth, the one he usually used to carry his writing tools and food when he went out into the bowl to write. My secret mission! I wanted to do it all on my own! I did good didn’t I? Before he could question what she meant, Fari bombarded the young green’s head, chirping and trilling in happiness. As Peniath placed the basket haphazardly on the bed, he realized it was filled with sand. He was impressed the green had managed to fill and carry the basket on her own; she never ceased to amaze him.
Fari fluttered then, back and forth between the sand-filled basket, and the basket she slept in, transferring the soft things she liked into the sandbox. Pleased with the arrangement, she settled into the basket and began the process of pulling out her feathers to make a good nest. U’wa sighed. So it was that time, was it? He supposed a decent amount of time had passed since her Flight. He wanted to help her, but a sharp, commanding chirp forced him back into his chair, where he continued to work on his letter, glancing worriedly from time to time. By the time he finished, Fari had almost finished her work as well, and though she was protective, she was willing to move away long enough for U’wa and Peniath to fawn over the eggs. He was surprised to see six eggs in the clutch and sent feelings of pride to Fari, who ruffled her feathers happily in response.
The Six Eggs:
1. Pop Rocks Egg
A black egg covered in small spots of various colours that almost seem to explode in place. This egg has a rough, bumpy shape.
2. Fuzzy Peach Egg
A round, yellow and orange egg that seems to swirl with colours. Theres a strange pattern to the shell that makes it look soft and fuzzy to the touch.
3. Candy Corn Egg
A simple egg that seems to be built in layers; yellow on the bottom, white on the top and a thick strip of orange all around the egg's middle. This egg is longer and thinner than the rest of its siblings.
4. Cinnamon Heart Egg
A relatively plain egg with a sharp red colour. It is a rather strange shape, with an extra little lump on the side, giving it an almost heart like appearance.
5. Lemon Drop Egg
A round, yellow egg, with a sprinkling of white along one side of it. The other side of the egg is somewhat flat.
6. Peppermint egg
A very normal egg, as far as shape goes. Three colours spiral down from the top of the egg in stripes of red, white and green.
