Risa is a rather dark person, if it weren't for her bright and carefree nature. She has a deep colored skin tone with black hair and eyes so dark a brown they are almost like bottomless black pools as well. she has very narrow features, though her body holds a strength that her lithe form belies. She is all lean muscle and able to wrestle beasts as big as her for long enough to protect the herds under her charge. She's tall as well, standing at 5'10"
She is normally seen in dark leather and light colored linens, almost always work clothing. She finds it comfortable and durable, which is especially good as she wears her clothes out very easily. She is usually seen with a smile on her face, as she simply enjoys life. Everything about her stance is straightforward and almost masculine, even though she is one of the most delicate looking creatures to be found. Don't let her thin-ness fool you. The girl is all muscle, not a scrap of fat on her.
Personality
Risa is a very laid back, outgoing flirtatious person. She loves to smile and just generally have fun. She doesn't like to be stressed out, so she just generally doesn't. She's the type of person who will just calmly walk right up to another person, or group of people and join in their conversation. Which can be good or bad. She meets many new people this way, and learns a lot of interesting and random information. But from time to time, she is seen as inconvenient and kind nosy.
Risa is a very hard worker and will go and go until she simply cannot go any further. But when she relaxes she stretches out and just kinda flops where ever she wants to. If she's in the way, all you have to do is tell her and she'll move, but it is kinda hard to wake such a person from there slumber, isn't it? Even if they are in the middle of the hall.
She has a love of dancing and music in general, though she doesn't have much talent for anything other than a simple flute and a couple of folk dances. Mostly she simply sways to the music and enjoys it. She's also a lover of odd tidbits. Little bits of information that has nothing to do with anything and are just random facts. She likes to use them as topic starters, or ice breakers, with varied success.
She is also rather lethal with a staff, as she uses it to fend of feral felines when herding beasts who would otherwise be defenseless. She has a fondness for children, though she never intends to have any herself. She also has a protective streak a mile wide and if she thinks she can help protect someone or thing she'll be the first to jump to the occasion every time. This girl is an absolute daddy's girl, the main reason being she never spent much time with her mother(who is a Greenrider and therefore very busy, so no one can blame her for leaving the girl in her father's care.)
She is an open person who is hard to anger, and quick to forgive, though even she has her limits. You cross her once, she'll be alright with it the very next day. You cross her twice and you'd have to battle through an entire cave system of tunnel snakes to get to her just to beg at her feet before she ever trusted you again or gave you another chance. She's a fairly stubborn person about some things, though unless the subject is super special to her, she's pretty much goes with the flow.

History
Risa was conceived during the Rise of a Gold. Celia had been feeling particularly desperate for attention at the time and she came into contact with a handsome herder named Merrik. They did what so many did during Gold Flights and as a result, there was Risa. Celia, unsurprisingly, did not have the time or energy to deal with an infant, but at the same time could not bear the thought of destroying the growing life within her. So she carried the babe to term and dumped her into her father's arms once she was born.
Poor Merrik, while he loved children and had always wanted one of his own, had kinda been hoping for a strong backed son to carry on after him. After all, he had no idea how to raise a little girl! But he did his best, and with the assistance of a couple wet nurses and a lady friend here and there, he managed to raise a very strong willed young woman who could hold her own in the fields and with the herds. She can rider a runnerbeast with the best of them and she can battle off a feral cat or two, if she needed to.
She discovered she had a younger half brother when she was 13 Turns old, and she randomly found herself having lunch with her mother one day. She has yet to meet the young man, though she feels she may be interested in meeting him eventually.
She had never really seriously considered Standing before, but her keen eyes and her active imagination have her seeing interesting things coming up in the Weyr as of late, and she wants a part of it. So she has gone into Candidacy in hopes of Impressing one of the Hatchlings in the upcoming clutch.

Strengths
Her strength is certainly one advantage she has, though it is typically less than the men, she's a tough lady and can hold her own. Her work has allowed her to learn how to handle creatures that are larger than her, which could come in handy with a dragon much larger than she is. Another is her ability to remain calm, even in situations that would cause others to panic. While herdbeasts are running in terror, she is able to think out the situation and calm it down again quickly and effectively.

Risa is easily distracted. While she is relatively reliable, if something else catches her attention, she's gone for awhile until you are able to drag her attention back to the current situation. Her habit of leaping into situations that are potentially dangerous is another, as she is often in some form of trouble due to this. This has also led to a number of scars riddling her body, though they are all generally minor and fading with time. She also has a weakness for alcoholic beverages, both because she's not supposed to partake, and also because she just likes the warm tingly feeling she'd be happy to feel it all the time, even if it leaves her dizzy afterwards.

His beak is an onyx colored black, and stands out among his mostly light coloring. He is not shy and rather sociable, much like his Risa, though he will make way for others to interact first, before he interjects with his own input. Which generally people don't understand anyway, as he is a bird creature and he's not very skilled at speaking human, as one might expect. He is also a bit of a magpie, enjoying the coos and pettings he receives when he brings little treasures to his Risa. He himself has a little nest he has made out of all the soft, fluffy or shiny things he has found and brought home.
Dragon/Wher Preference Hmm, hmm...She could do well with a boy or a girl...Probably good with a green, as she is flirtatious herself, but the laid back/playful nature might be good with a playful blue as well. Or, heck! Any of those new colors you Zi and Lark were talking about would work to. You know what?! Give her anything, and maul her all you like. She'll be fun to play no matter what she gets! ^^
