PB:Saoirse Ronan in Hanna
Name: Therru *Tear-oo*
Age: 15 turns
Season of Birth: Winter
Gender: Female
Orientation: Bisexual
Craft: Hunter/Trader/Simple Weaves/Simple Healing...jack of all trades kind of.
Rank: Dragon Candidate
.: Appearance :.
Hair color: White
Eye color: Blue
Build: Petite, Willowy.
Description:
At about 5ft 3inches, Therru is tiny for a Pernese girl, even of 16 turns. She's not only tiny in height, she's also small in proportions. Her body is petite, with thin shoulders and limbs that are willowy in structure. She seems almost fragile because of this, especially when you take into account the pale skin that seems paper white, and the equally white hair however, it turns to a darker cream in places too. Therru, like many Northerners, has been mutated by radiation, and hers is Albinism. It's is slight, not enough to cause too much red and pink pigmentation to show, however it is still visible. Her eyes are like liquid turquoise as well, and are the most obvious feature about her. They are the kind of eyes that are older than they should be on a girl so young though. They're wise eyes, ones that also speak of the pain she has endured her entire life.
Clothing wise, you will never see Therru in anything but a hunter's garb. That means durable pants, thick boots, tunic-like tops, and vests or jackets. When it's winter, especially whenever she's in a place that snows, she often will wear layers not just to keep warm, but to hide better in the woods as well. This is one quirk Therru has, that everyone eventually will see. Even though she is so fair, she is capable of becoming unseen unless the watching eye is well trained on movement. It comes in handy not only while hunting animals, but humans as well.
In terms of voice, Therru's is light, and will break sometimes. It is not because it’s still changing though. No, it's more likely it is because she is so unused to using it. She only ever talked to her father, and after her died, she had to sell wares to passing traders, and used it then. Therefore, in consequence, she is quiet, and demure sounding. Quiet is often better for a hunter anyhow.
.: Personality :.
Likes: Outdoors, hunting, being alone, training, learning new things
Dislikes: Missing, being contained, treated like she's stupid, looked down on, being manipulated
Fears: Needing someone even Niro, suffocating
Goals: living another day free
Quirks Incredibly child-like socially, very mature in every other way, tends to triple lock things
Description
The one thing about Therru that will never change, is that she doesn't trust people. She never has since she was a little girl, and no one is about to change that. That's just how things are, she'd rather kill them first than leave the possibility that they do the same to her open. Even though she follows the Goldrider and her beast, she doesn't completely trust them either. She's secretive about her exact reasons why she helps them. In fact, she will only let slip tidbits about her motives. *In rping her too, they won't be straight forward.*
However, she frequently proves to be self-efficient and useful. She doesn't need anyone to help her, she does a better job solo any way, and she hates working with others. Human that is. Therru can wield many different types of weapons; from daggers to random household utensils. Her favorite is a bow though. To Therru, there is something satisfying and comforting about the familiar whoosh of the arrow and pull of the string.
When in society, Therru proves to be very matter-of-fact too. This isn't because she lacks in words and coyness though. Instead, she just doesn't understand how not to be. She will not exactly state the obvious, most of the time, but she will not pause to say what's on her mind. Therru doesn't mean any harm by it either, though what she says can be hurtful at times. She's child-like in that she's innocent of knowing how things work and how things should be. Therru often can be compared to a child learning about the world for the first time because, she, in a way is.
Anything new, words or toy, is something to be played with and manipulated until she understands every aspect of it. She has to know more too. She can't help herself really. Therru is also intelligent. She knows how to read simple text, and write the things she can read. She also figures put puzzles with amazing accuracy, and can remember a long list of orders. She will say the most random things too. Therru's mind often wanders to other things on strange connections to whatever she is experiencing, as a result she often lets her thoughts slip.
The last thing, and this is painfully obvious about Therru, is that she hates to be controlled or confined. Sitting still and waiting for prey isn't bad, she just has to see that there is open room around her. Even if pillows or inanimate objects surround her, she could be surrounded by a pack of puppies even as a live example, and she would still be fine. When it's people though, she can't handle it. She gets upset and anxiety quickly takes over. This is mostly internal though, and can be seen in her eyes and hands.
.: History :.
Relatives: None alive
History:
Born to a young guard at High Reaches Hold and his wife, Therru was an only child. Her mutation was not uncommon and had been seen before the radiation poisoning even, but it was a mutation nonetheless. Often times young children laughed at her when she wanted to play, calling her names before running away. Her mother was sickly, and often could not be with Therru, so that left her father to be her only friend. When she was 4 turns old, her mother finally passed away.
Therru's father never told her until she was older, but her mother had been denied treatment because the healers had thought her a lost cause and too unimportant anyway to really help. There were nobles who needed medicine more apparently, or some such thing. He took her into the woods not long after her mother had been buried, and they built a small wooden shack out of the nearby timber.
She grew up out there, learning to fend for herself and to read the signs of nature. Therru was quick at learning too. By the time she was 10 turns old, Therru had learned a little of every trade until she was about an apprentice level in each, and some she could have easily walked the tables tore without even getting a day of formal training. Her father was proud of her, and on her 11th turnday, he took her to a nearby village where traders lived during the harsh winter months.
Therru's father told her to pick any egg she wanted from a recently clutched Gold. She chose a medium sized egg, and they went on their way. A sevenday later, it hatched into a small bronze, almost a brown's length on size save for his extra long tail. She named him Niro, after a boy Therru's father used to tell get stories about. It was the same day that Niro hatched, that she lost her father.
The snow was starting to melt by then, and her father had gone out to catch food for their dinner. The ice on the nearby lake was thinning though, and Therru followed her father out worried. She saw him walk out, and saw him turn to wave to her. She heard the ice crack, and then his body go under. Therru ran for him, the ice breaking under her weight too. The last thing she remembered was being cold.
When she woke up, she was beside a warm fire and music was playing softly. The traders that had given them Niro's egg had gone out that night to get firewood. They had seen her father and her go under the ice, but had only been able to find her and get her out. Therru cried that day, the last time she can remember. The girl left the trader caravan then, even though they offered to take her in.
She went back to the cabin, and for four turns she was by herself. Then, she went to High Reaches Weyr for a gather they would soon have. A gold hatched that day, and impressed to a girl. Somehow, Therru ended up getting involved with them, starting a friendship...or perhaps more of an alliance. Therru wouldn't ever say just why she was helping the goldrider out, but she was. Turns past, and then a strange thing happened.
The Weyrwoman at Trelis Weyr called in a favor, and the young Goldrider arranged for herself to be the one to go down and help. Naturally, Therru was brought as well....but who knew she'd end up arriving at a hatching.
