Appearance
The first thing people notice about Saka usually is her fiery red hair. It's curly and everywhere and never seems to do what she wants it to. In fact, she swears it has a mind of it's own. To keep it from being a crazed, the girl will often braid bits of it with feathers and beads in an atempt to make it look 'styled'. Now if this atempt actually elicits the response she wants, it's a good thing and fine and dandy. If not...well we'll adress that in her personality.
The other thing people notice about her facial wise is that she has a spray of dark freckles over her face, and champagne colored eyes, basically a very light gray/amber. They stand out among the dissaray of red hair, and Saka's incredibly proud of these features...though at times her freckles tend to bother her. Enough about how she feels about her looks though and back to actually describing them! Her nose is a bit short and petite, turning up the tiniest bit at the tip, and her lips are curved nicely, at least in her opinion. All in all, Saka makes an okay to pretty face...at least she believes herself and has been told.
Body wise, Saka is tiny. She's 4 foot 8 of pure energy and rambunctious intentions. With a body that's still growing into itself, she still resembles a prebubescent girl in some areas, though with the passing months that changes little by little as she fills out into her body more. Amazingly for her size, she's strong as well as quick. This is mostly because of her training as a hunter. Where some short people are blessed with long legs to make their bodies seem longer at least far away, she doesn't have this luxury. Nope, she's perfectly porportioned to the rest of her body, and will always be as her brother says "shrimpy."
Little Shrimp here though holds herself with an odd confidence for a 14 turn old. Not because of arrogance or aged confidence though. Instead it's a mixutre of childish innocence and head-strong attitude. No matter the origin though, it's obvious that she isn't one to scamper about in the shadows. Saka will just be up front with others, ever present with her sometimes 'chirpy' voice, usually perching on some sort of furniture like a bird.
The one thing that Saka will only keep to herself however is her singing voice. For a girl who grew up in a trader caravan, she has a decent set of vocal chords. It's sweet and on a scale somewhere between a second soprano and alto, able to hit both those ranges. Since she's shy about this thing, and this thing only, one can generally hear her only if she's caught "performing" for her bird or some other critter or small child.
Clothes wise, Saka is a mess. She'll mis-match colors, fabrics, and anything else she can get her hands on...simply because she can. Her favorite outfit to wear for instance is a pair of tight burnt orange working pants over a patchwork tunic of blues, purple and greens. Other than this crazy collection of colors, Saka also likes to wear different scarves, feathers, beads, and other such accesories whenever she can. Again though, they hardly make sense when put together though. To most at least, she has met that odd person once in a while who actually understands her crazy apparel.
Personality
One important thing that people need to know is that Saka is as stubborn as a runnerbeast. Yes, this is a bad thing. However, the determination sometimes does pay off. It's because of these cases that Saka is unwilling to back down even when she's wrong. With age perhaps she'll learn, but for now good luck trying to change her mind once it's been set on something. Similiarly to the stubborn nature of Saka, she's also a little hot-headed fireball. She's fiesty! She won't wait long to retort back at someone's insult, or in fact anytime a person leaves themselves open for a verbal attack.
Besides the hot-headed stubborn side of Saka, there is also an incredibly playful side too. She likes to go out and have fun. Whether this is swimming in the river or hunting among the trees, Saka could care less. She just wants to be around people and not feel alone. One interesting thing, at least to some, is that Saka has a habit of taking things. It could be your hat, your scarf, your shoe it doesn't matter. She will take it and run. Saka likes being chased around and the feeling of being the center of attention...she's just a bit strange in how she gets it.
Saka is also curious. Anything new she comes across must be explored to the nth degree. If there is something she doesn't know about it, she will find it! Remember, this girl is head-strong and can be incredibly single-minded when her interest is perked. The other thing that is similar to this, is that if someone knows something Saka doesn't, she'll want to learn. Especially if it's information that is being hung over her head. This makes her insane and she's been known to throw a tantrum until she finds out.
In terms of flirting, Saka is a huge one. Except she has this odd way of doing it. She'll not catch onto innuendos, or at least pretend to not catch onto innuendos, until later on. This is just so she can say something "innocently" that goes right along with the conversation. It's her way of flirting even though it's a bit odd, and miraculously it's sometimes is just her saying something without understanding its meaning. When she's not flirting in this odd way, she's outright having fun and being her normal playful self. She's even been known to sit on laps and "accidentaly" touch someone.
As you can guess by now Saka is incredibly extroverted and even hyper at times. Perhpas it's just her being young and she'll grow out of it as she ages, but most likely she won't. She does have a more soft and quiet side though. This is especially when she's around "critters" and small children. She loves to care for them and will be gentle as possible while around them. This trait can also turn into protectiveness as well. When she's like that she'll defend the children or "critter" whether it has to be verbaly or physically.
Now, we've seen the hot-head, the flirt, the adventurer, and the protector. However, one other thing that Saka is, is a tad bit insecure. She's not unlike other young girls. She worries about her frizzy hair, and she dislikes different parts of herself. Instead of dwelling on these for too long though, Saka will move on. It doesn't mean she is without insecurities, just that they come and go in incredibly short bursts.

History
Sakalas was born into the one of the Trader Families around The Island. It was a business deal more than an actual marriage, but her parents were lucky enough to also care deeply for each other. Her mother's family specialized in hunting and breeding. However, unlike the majority that bred firelizards. They bred birds. Hunting birds that would do the same jobs. A bit strange, but what about Saka isn't? Either way, her family was well off in their lives, and continue to be.
As a child, Saka loved to get into trouble. Any sort of trouble possible was fine. As long as it got her some attention. She also wasn't the clean type. Saka liked to get dirty, and so fit right in with the family. Some of her earliest memories were going on hunting trips early morning with her siblings and parents. Knife in one hand, one of the family's birds on the other. It wasn't until she was 10 that she got her own bird. It had been a present on her birthing day, and the girl was extatic to have her own finally. Of course it took a few more turns to completely train Korah, but by now he is the perfect companion for Saka.
One thing that her family did from time to time, was visit Trelis on business trips, as well as fun trips too. Sakalas loved these adventures. It was fun going to see the beautiful dragons, and the girl marveled when she witnessed her first hatching. It wasn't a surprise when the little hunter wanted to be a candidate herself. However, she had not been searched out at the time. Besides, she was useful to her parents being the oldest child.
After coming to Loraketh's hatching the family stayed over in Apolla hold selling their goods and some more pet kinds of birds. Saka had gone of exploring as usual, Korah with her when she met a dragon......and that's where her story starts here. She has no clue she's about to be chosen for candidacy or that her dream is about to come true.

Personality/Appearance
Korah is a dark silver huntyre. He also has blue feathers as well as tan lighter silver ones though which lighten up his appearance. The male is fairly large for a Lunar and has a broad chest and long wings. Besides his main plumage, he also has lighter ticks of white on his underside and around his eyes though making him an interesting combination of dark and light. The only other thing that's obviously seen on him is a braided cord that Saka made for him. It latches around his neck like a little collar.
Korah is first and foremost a loyal companion. He will always be there for his owner, though not in the same way other pets would. He's a silent presence that is a familiar comfort. His main purpose however, in her family's eyes at least, is for hunting. He has a one-tract mind when it comes to his duties as Saka's eyes and ears above. He's a diligent worker and will only stop at something he's set his mind on when Saka tells him to. As a side note, Korah is also very protective of Saka. Any threat will be met with open talons and beak.
