It was before the sun had even risen. But Iirla was up in the dark for a very specific reason. She had cleaned up and was wearing a nice dress already. Why would she bother, though...? She was trying to show off a bit for Vl'kan. Something that she had never done just for D'rian or for S'bel. Not only that... but... She had a tray of food for two and two mugs of hot klah on a tray. She walked quietly up the stairs and gently pushed Vl'kan's door open. "Vl'kan?" she said softly, hoping not to wake him if he wasn't already awake. She slowly opened the door and placed the tray on the desk. Well... If he wasn't awake... She covered the food and the klah to keep it warm and turned to leave. "Thormyth... Iz isn't awake yet, but she would love it if you would go hunting with her later and show her just how magnificent you are," she said softly to hte big garnet, using his ego to get him at least interested in the idea.
She left a note in front of the tray and then turned to leave the room, looking at him briefly with a soft smile. Well.. she would have to come see him again later. When he was awake.
Ama chittered and she was afraid that she would wake him... And Trivol and Praesent didn't help. Oh Shards. She attempted to slip through the door, calling her flitts with her, though the door had not yet closed completely.

The moment she nudged his door open his personal alarm system went off. Starfire, being her usual protective little self, shrieked and flapped her wings from her perch above Vl’kan’s bed. Startled out of his dreams with a shout, the man shot out of bed and tumbled to the floor, tangled in his furs. “Geez you crazy bird, what the hel-oh, h-hey Iirla…” His ranting and raving ceased the moment he caught sight of the young goldrider and her trio of flits trying to squeeze out his door. He looked at her sleepily, still on the floor, and blinked as he tried to figure out just what was going on. Did I miss something.
Home invasion… Thormyth grumbled before his jaws parted in a wide yawn as he moved to step out on to his ledge. So the young gold needed help hunting? Guess we’ll just show her how it’s done.
Vl’kan shook his head and untangled himself from his furs and slowly got to his feet. He nearly always slept half dressed so naturally he paid the thought no mind as he walked across the room towards her in nothing but his boxers. “You’re up early,” he commented before yawning and ruffling his hair. After just getting to sleep only a few candle marks ago he really hadn’t expected to see her again so soon but he wasn’t complaining.

"OH!" I'm sorry... I didn't want to wake you... I just wanted to bring you well... the tray there before you and Thormyth started training today." She smiled warmly at him, and held back the laugh that bubbled up in her at his predicament. "Hi Vl'kan." She smiled at him. She wanted to show him how important he was to her... Which had been part of why she wanted to do something special for him right now.
She grinned and laughed slightly at him. "Oh... I'm so sorry for waking you again," she looked at him smiling. Oh... Vl'kan. She hardly noticed how he was dressed. "Maybe we should both get more sleep.
Izanycorth gave a snort. I want the great Istan Garnet to show me just how spectacular he is and go hunting with me. Besides that... I think I could learn something from him. There was a dangerous purr in her words. "Oh Iz..." The Gold was at her ledge, just waiting on the garnet. "You best both be careful. No getting into trouble... please...?" she asked tiredly.
"What was I saying again....?" she said, turning to Vl'kan, feelign worried at her lifemate going off hunting with Thormyth. What if he got mad. What if he decided to hurt her. She hoped her worry didn't show. Oh dear Faranth... Her worry was nearly suffocating at the moment, but she was still doing her very best not to let it show.

He stifled a yawn as she began to apologize. “It’s…it’s fine. Don’t worry about it.” Another yawn, this one he couldn’t hold in. “I’m awake.” Vl’kan smiled lazily at her before the aroma of the tray reached his nose and captured his attention. His stomach grumbled and he grinned sheepishly. “Thank you but you didn’t need to do all this.”
She mentioned sleep and he cast and longing, sideways look back at his bed. Oh sleep. How easily it would be for him to pass out as soon as his head hit the pillow. Wait a moment, he knew how he could fix this. Picking the tray off the desk, Vl’kan shuffled back to the bed and crawled under his furs after settling the try at the foot of the bed. If he couldn’t go back to sleep he was at least going to be lazy and comfortable for as long as he could drag it out. Adjusting the furs so they wouldn’t fall off his shoulders, Vl’kan patted the space next to him, for her to come join him, before scooping up a mug of klah and a popping a piece of fruit in his mouth.
Rubbing some more of the sleep from his face, he seemed to take notice for the first time the dress she had on and caught himself staring for an extra long moment or two before quickly distracting himself with another piece of fruit. Why was she all dressed up? Was something happening today? Had he missed a memo?? Oh but he couldn’t just ask outright and risk looking like a fool. No this had to be worded carefully, casually… “So, ah… big plans today?” He asked as light heartedly as he could, not yet taking notice of the spark of worry in her eyes.
Stepping out into the predawn light, Thormyth stretched his wings and uttered another short yawn. Ready to go young queen? Sparing a quick glance over to her ledge, he quickly launched himself into the cool air rose to hover at top of the weyr bowl, waiting for her to join him before continuing on to the feeding grounds.

Always, Thormyth, she said to him, another darker purr in her voice as she launched herself into the air and soon was beside him following him to the feeding grounds.
Iirla smiled and came to sit next to him, still feeling her worry there... but... Iz would be alright... she just didn't want there to be any trouble of any kind. She smiled and took her own mug of klah and sipped at it rather delicately... normally not something she would think of... Except if she was worried.
She looked at him in confusion for a moment and then realized.... wait... He had just noticed she was all dressed up and smiled, though her eyes were still dark with worry. "Oh... No... No big plans." She was still trying to hide that worry there. "Not that I know of anyways... But... I don't think it's wrong to dress up from time to time..."
She stopped for a moment and gave a mischievous smile. "Especially for someone special, then looked down and away, blushing furiously as she brushed her hair, which was pulled up into a bun, just a few pieces allowed to flow free. Her neck was mostly exposed. The dress was not particularly low or particularly high, but the white fabric was soft and edged with gold. The sleeves were short and billowed a bit around her shoulders.
She wanted to do things that were special for him. After all. She took another sip of klah and smiled slightly. "I brought this for Starfire as well..." she pulled out a shiny rock and held it out to the little huntyre so she could take it.

Thormyth grunted as she drew along side him before he twisted in the air and the two headed towards the feedings grounds. They arrived soon enough though. The runners were mostly still asleep and under the cover of darkness they arrived virtually undetected. Without nothing but a seeming purr of a growl, the crimson dragon tucked his wings into his body and angled himself dived straight into the middle of the half dozing herd. The beasts scattered but not before Thor successfully pinned one beneath his claws. Nothing to it, my young Queen. Flex your claws, paralyze the beasts with fear.
Vl’kan suppressed another yawn before draining half his mug of klah. The good news was that he was starting to wake up, the bad news being, well…he was up. Shrugging those thoughts aside he glanced her way and for a moment there though he caught a glimmer of, was that…worry, in her eyes? “Hey, is everything alright? You look a little…I dunno.” He shrugged and took another drink from his mug while his eyes searched her face. “You just don’t look as happy as when you came in earlier…”
At the mention of her name and the glint of a reflective object, Starfire had ceased her preening and trilled as she hopped from her perch, to Vl’kan’s head, to the bed. Oh it was hers, it was HER SHINY! She quickly hopped over and snatched the new shiny object before scurrying out of reach to examine the new offering. Vl’kan sighed and shook his head at his huntyres antics. “You don’t have to keep bringing her things, really. Spoiled little thing…she definitely doesn’t need it..”

The gold watched each move of the garnet's wings appreciatively, but she wouldn't say anything about it. Oh no.... That just simply would not do. she wasn't going to go falling over him like so many other females did. She rather fight with him.... She had confidence she could hold her own. She loved the danger of him... even how bloodthirsty he could be. I am even more Impressed than before, Thormyth. With that she fell from the sky towards the herdbeasts below, flexing her claws as she had seen Thormyth due and pouncing on the beast, crushing it beneath her weight, purring happily, her tail swishing. She loved it. She bit into the flesh with a low rumbling growl. It was satisfying as she tore at the flesh of the beast with... well... something delicate and careful, though... with vigor and enjoyment, purring over her kill. She loved it. The blood and the flesh as she tore at it.
She looked at him suddenly and gave him a soft smile. "I... am just a little worried... Her... um... ruthless streak is showing again..." She laughed slightly and turned towards him, leaning against his shoulder. "But.... I think it'll be okay..." she said softly, her lips inches from his cheek, her breath would tickle his neck. She gently stroked her hand along his arm.
"I don't mind spoiling her... she is very very cute." She giggled slightly, pulling her legs up and leaning fully against him. "I'm sorry for waking you so soon after we went to sleep... You need more rest than this..." She had put her klah down before moving, but now she straightened a little and reached for it, taking a sip before placing it back down and leaning against him again and quickly kissing him on the cheek.
Izanycorth rumbled again and looked around. There were no other dragons to disturb them at this hour... It was nice.
