R'hard, I'm bored, Kaith said in a tone dangerously close to whining. The brown was curled up in his weyr, as he had been for most of the day. Only now, an hour or two before dinnertime, did he pipe up to complain.
R'hard rolled his eyes, as he often did where Kaith was concerned, though normally he wasn't actually as annoyed as he was right now. He turned to glare at the weyrling, now a turn old. "Every time we have to go out to do something, you complain that you never get to stay in. Now that we actually have a day off, you're suddenly bored?" One would think that by now R'hard would have actually understood the dragon he was bonded to. Ha.
But I've already napped enough for today, I'm not hungry, and the sky's too cloudy for a proper sunbath. What else is there to do?
R'hard sighed. Oh well, might as well take the opportunity to get the brown some exercise while he was more or less willing. "How 'bout we take a walk around the Weyrbowl or something? See if there's anyone else about," R'hard suggested, knowing full well at this time of day the Weyrbowl would certainly be far from empty. Kaith could use some social interaction.
Kaith made a grunting sound which R'hard took as assent and climbed to his feet. After a brief stretch, during which Hari and Sahar decided to show themselves and wrapped themselves around R'hard's neck, they took off for the Weyrbowl.
The sky was overcast, but at least it wasn't actively raining, and it was late enough in the season that even this late in the day it was still quite warm outside. Unsurprisingly, the 'bowl was bustling with activity as weyrling and rider meandered without any particular destination, R'hard glancing around to see if there was anyone he knew.
