Movement caught Daria's eye and her breath caught. It was an Opal and a very unfortunate one. The girl felt her heart melt for him and whispered, "Come on its ok little one!" She wanted the Opal. He was gorgeous and Daria felt that he would need a little courage and self confidence. Daria herself had some to share and was willing to give it. She bit her lip. Again she was showing emotions that she wouldn't normally show. "Shard it. Who cares anyway?" The whispered gently to the Opal, "Come on little one. Anyone who thinks your not good looking is wrong. Everyone looks good in their own way. Some physically, some mentally. I for one wouldn't mind looking at you every day and seeing a lovely creature." She smiled at and hoped that he would at least take his head out of the Sands.

I must have done something wrong to make her do this... It's my fault.. don't be mad at her, brothermine.
Xae looked at her dragoness. "I think... I should feed her. She's hungry. Can you help me, R'as...?" she asked, her voice thin and worried. She was leaning into R'as, feeling comfort from him... Feeling.... a growing warmth for him, but she was still so focused on her dragoness. She loved her so very much. She leaned back into R'as, feeling his head against the back of hers. She felt warm with him here. A sort of safety, but she was focused as well on taking care of her dragoness. Her Moth.
((Sorry... short. >.<))

Virath crooned to his sister, and gently nuzzled her neck again, all feelings of anger forgotten for the time being. His sister needed his help, and he would do anything he could for her. He wasn’t sure what he should say to her, or if anything he could say would even help the situation in the slightest. He shook his head, and looked over at the healer’s impatiently. They should hurry up and help Moth before she hurts any worse. That wouldn’t make him or His very happy, and he wasn’t sure they wanted to mess with His when he was angry.
R’as nodded his head, and grabbed what was left out of the bucket he had been feeding Virath out of. Here, use this. He gently took one of her hands, and brought it down to where the meat was. He would help her, the best he could, but at this point, he wasn’t sure what he could do. Virath and I are still here, and we will stay as long as you want us to Xae. His voice was sweet and gentle as he spoke to her. He held her tightly against him, and tried to make her feel safe in his arms. So much had happened to them already, and neither of them needed any more pain.

Iirla couldn't help but notice her brother with Xaemia. It made her smile and... made her wish that she had her own person she really loved right there with her. She looked back at the sands, but not for D'rian, though she saw him... but for... Vl'kan. Yes... the Istan Garnet Rider... She turned her attention back to R'as and Xaemia and smiled worriedly again, not letting on that any other thought than the young white had crossed her mind.
Not that they likely would have noticed. But Iirla would have to talk to R'as later about this... He was her brother and he was involved in the intricacies of her own life... she wanted to be involved with his. Anyways...
Xaemia Gently offered the meat to her little dragon, though her stomach turned at the feeling of it and was rewarded as the small white took it in her mouth and chewed slowly... And then another piece. "Thank you, R'as" she said, trying to remember the change in his name, though it was so tempting to just call him Rayas again and again as she would forget. but.. she didn't. "Don't leave us..." she said softly. She loved the feeling of him holding her right now. She was starting to feel more relaxed as he held her tightly against him. She felt safe with R'as.
"Oh! Yufa! I think you're help could be a great asset here." Iirla turned to the young healer. Any help at all would help at the moment.

R’as nodded his head slowly when she thanked him, though; he felt there was no need for it. I know it feels weird, but you will get used to it eventually. His voice was light and playful once again. He didn’t know if his attempt to cheer her up would work or not, but at least he was trying. He turned his head and looked up at his sister, and wondered what was going through her mind. He had a feeling that she wanted to talk to him about something, but he couldn’t think of what that something might be.
Xaemia, I’ll be right back. I have to talk to Iirla for a second. Virath is still here with you. I won’t be gone long I promise. R’as stood slowly, and was glad his ebony moved so that he could wrap his black tail around Xaemia. He turned to his sister and walked a little ways away; hoping she would understand that he wanted to talk to her, and get it over with before it drove him insane trying to figure out what she wanted to talk about in the first place. He had a tendency to think about things too hard and it made him a little nuts.

The Glass Menagerie Green looked at her sister with a hiss and moved away from the fighting dragons. They were so untrustworthy! Even that weird opal and her brown brother were not trustworthy!
She hissed at them all, backing away towards her mother. Her mother was the only good one. The only one she could trust. She looked up at the gold and gave a croon to her, a soft, uncertain croon. sHe didn't want to move yet. SHe didn't want to go towards those... those... THINGS! And they were hiding Hers! She coudln't see him. She knew he was there but they were hiding him!
WHY are you keeping Mine from me!? Why!? she shouted at them all, hissing and growling and angry. They were keepings hers away. she looked up at her mother with a soft keen. Why won't they let me have him Mother... why...? she asked, crying piteously as she sat on the sands under Loraketh. I know he is there... but he is not... I can't find him! She took a tentative step forward to search again. She had to find hers. Hers was here...
She moved out to the rim, ignoring her siblings and cautiously approaching the candidates, hissing at them menacingly. Hers was somewhere... but none of these was right. She didn't want them to be near her. She wanted Hers. He was the only one she would trust... Now where was He?! She pressed further and further through the candidates, heading closer to the stands, hissing at candidates, snapping, hissing. NO one could touch her! They were all untrustworthy! They all were keeping Hers from her. Hers was here though.... She did all she could to part the candidates as she moved amongst them, inspecting and sniffing at them from a distance. No! No! NO!!! None of these would do!

"Oh... Alright... but you'll be back soon, right...?" she asked him meekly, though she was primarily focused on trying to feed her little Moth. But she still wanted him there. She felt Virath's tail wrap around her and she smiled slightly. "Thank you for staying Virath..." she said softly to him and fed Moth a bit more. Moth was eating slowly, but she was still working on feeding her until she was full while the healers looked at her poor little girl's wings.
Iirla followed him and stood in front of him, giving him a soft smile. "I hope you're careful with her, R'as... I can see how much you want to protect her and how much you are already starting to care about her," she said to him softly so that no one else would hear. "but.... remember to think about your dragon's, alright. She looked up at her "little" brother. Xae was tiny compared to him... but that was probably part of what made it cute.

{TAG: Daria }
Sari watched as the Opal hatched and the laughter that came up into her chest seemed to melt away her tight apprehension. With the blacklight off the sands and the garnet too, Sari felt that she could breathe a little easier. Yes there could still be some trouble but she felt that the worst might be over. What could possibly be worse than what the blacklight did, her heart had reasoned.
The Opal though, with his worried head stuck in the sand and his little oddities caused Sari's heart to go out to the little one. She felt sympathy and understanding for him. But at the same time, she heard Daria nearby begin to whisper that he was such a 'lovely creature'. With a friendly grin she whispered over, "Daria, let's face it, he's goofy-looking. It'll help his self-esteem if he knows his faults don't matter to his chosen but are not ignored either."
Okay, honesty was the best way to live one's life. But if not coupled with tact, well... Sari still had much in life to learn. She tried to help though and maybe she was. Sometimes it was hard for her to tell.
When the beautiful green, and yes she was beautiful, spurned Sari as if she was an unworthy, devious loser, Sari's heart sank. That was another one gone that she had been hoping for.

Kite stood there, his heart thumping with excitement. He witnessed many things, the good and the bad. He witnessed murder in cold blood and the Impression of the culprit to someone else. He gave a big sigh of relief, he did not want to take care of that monster.
Then The Reckless Egg hatched into something he had never seen before. It was red and green! He gulped, would this be the moment of truth? After a few tense moments, the dragonet made his way down the male side of the semi-circle, and surprisingly, stopped in front of him! Then he heard a voice in his head, telling him: You there! Yes you! You didn't touch your Aerinth's egg Kite, not that many did anyway. Why didn't you? Oh, forget it! There are more important things to do like watch over my sister. Mom told me to over there. It's not much fun though...she tends to just yell at me.
He could not believe it, he had Impressed a King! K'te grinned and stroked the hatchling's nose. Queens can be like that, my little Aerinth, he told him, but I am here, and that all that matters now. Wait here, I'll go get you something to eat. Well, you better get going, because I am starving! Aerinth screeched, his eyes whirling a mix of orange and red. Alright, alright, I'm going. K'te told him. And with that, the newly Impressed K'te headed off the where the food was, secretly thanking Faranth for this whiny, but beautiful gift.
----------------------------- G'daro yawned, Hatchings were sorta boring to him, even with his new dragonrider lifestyle. Don't worry Mine, Kite will Impress sometime tonight. Banemith told his rider. Yeah, but I personally want to see him Impress now! G'daro replied. Then he saw something he had been waiting to see, Kite had Impressed! G'daro jumped to his feet, whooping and cheering. "Come on guys, we have to go congratulate him!" G'daro encouraged his firelizards and his dragon. And with that, they left the stands, eager to meet the new King.

Virath crooned to his sister’s rider when she thanked him, it felt nice to be thanked. He looked back to where His and his sister had gone. He wasn’t sure why they had left the group, but from the feelings he was receiving from his rider, he figured it was because of something important. He shuffled his wings a little bit before turning back around and paying attention to what was happening right there in front of him. After all, his rider had asked him to take care of them until he got back, so that’s what he was going to do.
R’as looked curiously down at his sister, and listened intently while she spoke to him. He nodded slowly when she spoke about protecting, and caring about Xaemia, and wondered where she was going with all of this. Don’t worry Iirla, I know Virath comes first. But I don’t see why we can’t help the two of them. Moth coms first for her, and like I said, Virath comes first for me. He knew his sister only wanted to keep them safe, and out of harm, but he had a feeling that she was being a little more protective than she should be.

The Witchdoctor Opal gingerly lifted his head from the sand again at the sound of a voice. had someone seen through his clever hiding place?? Oh no! It was because he was so awkward looking, wasn't it? He eyed the speaking girl warily, his form shaking a little as she spoke. People thought he wasn't good looking? It was the stripes on his wing wasn't it? That green one looked awfully infected, didn't it?! Oh no oh no oh no he was going to d-d-DIE?!?!? The opal balked, a strange scared-whine came from his throat as tried to run away, tripping over his own feet in the process of getting away. Noooo! He cried. Was his ankle twisted now? What if it was broken!? He gingerly put pressure on his legs and, when no pain came, chirped in glee. He was alright! He wasn't going to die today! But.. what if that fall into the sands had contaminated him with some infectuous disease! Oh someone CALL THE HEALER! The opal moaned about his imaginary injuries and buried his head back in the sands for a few moments more before a realization hit him. What if something happened when a healer wasn't around? He unburied his head again timidly and looked at the gathered candidates. Oh they were a right mess, what with the blood and torn clothing. Oh no! WOuld they be able to infect him with some blood disease!? Maybe someone from the crowd would be better... oh but they all let the white robed ones get injured, so surely they wouldn't do... He needed someone to be his bed-side doctor. The girls all looked quite lovely... and that one, Daria, she had tried to comfort him in his time of need. Maybe she would work? Ooooh but what would he say to her! He was no good with women! M-m-maybe a boy then? Yes a boy would understand him. A boy wouldn't pity him like the girls might. He buried his head again and tried to figure out where the pull was coming from. Ah there! Or at least he hoped it was that boy... was something wrong with his abilities? Oh no were his headknobs broken?! A quick bat of his head with a claw told him that no, his headknobs were just fine. That must be the boy there then! He seemed so kind... surely he would help nurse all the Witchdoctor Opal's wounds. T-T-T-T'ris! He called, I-I'm so worried! I think I may have hurt myself! D-Do you know about injuries? They're so dangerous and your Widelmath doesn't want to die today... or ever really... Can you see if I'm okay from there? O-Or it would be really great if you came over here... Oh no! Is that a new stripe?! He buried his head in the sand once more.
Opal Widelmath Impressed To: Tiris Pronunciation: Wih-dell-math Rank: Opal Size: 23 Feet Color Codes:Base: E9E6D1Marking 1: 7E6E98Marking 2: 91AF8BMarking 3: 59637CAppearance:Widelmath is a bit of an oddity. While on the smaller side of the size scale for opals, he often appears larger than he brethren. It could be, perhaps, because his legs and neck are so abnormally long. In fact, all his libs are long, even his wings and tail. His body, however, is a very normal size, making it look completely out of proportion with the rest of him. His muscle mass is smaller than average, and he will have to work hard to keep up with the other dragons in the sky, but on the ground this guy will excell. Long legs make him quick and almost graceful on the ground... at least when he's not being an absolute clutz! Like most opals, his hide has a variety of colours, though they tends towards the cooler colours. A hide of off-white makes up majority of his colouring. His front right and back left legs are a soft, mossy green, while the other legs are a deep grey-blue. the two colours appear again on his tail, and face. His belly, and the hand section of his wings are a soft purple, which also appears in a stripe on his muzzle. All three colours appear on a band on the primary wing finger of each wing. Personality:Widelmath always thinks something is wrong with him. Its actually a fear. Is that leg longer than this one? Is that a new spot on his hide? Does his tail look funny to you? Maybe he's sick! Despite his fear of being unwell, he's actually an incredibly smart dragon, especially when it comes to injuries. It seems he has a natural born talent for telling what's wrong with others and can be a great asset when it comes to dealing with injured dragons. He's a bit nervous, especially around females that he likes, and he has no idea how to flirt. When it comes to trying new things, Widelmath will likely never be the first one to jump in and try (it might be dangerous you know!) and he tends to ere on the cautious side. Mind-Voice:Eep! I-I-Is that a new stripe? Am I going to d-die?!Widelmath's voice is, in the best of times, a bit shaky. It's almost as if he's constantly afraid of something, and it shows in the way he speaks. It can be a rather frantic sound at times, and its no surprise to hear it get louder and louder as he gets more upset. Even his rider will likely want to tune him out now and again, just to escape the sheer volume. Why:There's nothing wrong with me... is there? Just because I'm a little nervous... okay a lot nervous... doesn't mean I can't do great things... I just need a little help. I feel like you want to protect others... well I'm an 'others' aren't I? Maybe one day I'll be able to help you too.

Tiris had felt such relief when the blacklight dragon impressed to someone other than himself. He felt bad for the poor guy that got stuck with her though, that seemed like a very problematic dragon. He shook his head, and not much longer after that, another dragon impressed, and then another. It seemed like the hatching had gone into fast-forward now that that evil female was off the sands. He shook his head and blinked his eyes rapidly. He felt as though he had missed a lot, and wondered if there was someone that would tell him what all he had missed.
The next thing Tiris knew there was something talking to him inside of his head. It felt like the young man’s head was spinning.
Tiris slowly walked further onto the sands, he was afraid that he would get in trouble with the golden mother, and she would eat him. The thought of being inside a dragon’s stomach was not a pleasant thing to imagine. He shook his head, and walked a little faster towards the little opal. Um…hey, you can take your head out of the sand, there’s nothing wrong with you…I…I promise. He felt extremely awkward as he spoke to the little male. Widelmath slowly unburied his head from the hot sand, and looked up at his rider with a soft croon.
T-T-T’ris you’re p-p-positive there is nothing w-w-wrong? Widelmath’s voice wavered, and he felt like burying his head once again, but he was prevented from doing that because T’ris had wrapped his arms around the opal’s neck. I’m positive Wid, now come, let’s get you some food. T’ris smiled and stood up slowly to make sure he didn’t scare his own dragon, after all, how would that look in everyone else’s eyes if a rider scared his own dragon into burying his head in the sand?
