Hmph. Communal baths, really? Certainly it wasn't that she was uncomfortable with it, but, certainly, it was something she didn't care about, but something about it disgusted her. The idea of a man eying a woman in the baths was irritating. Very irritating.
It was bad enough to have Anori flying about over her head. "Will you cut that out already! Go wait for me with Annaliese you silly creature." She huffed and then relaxed into the water. It was warm and nice. Even though she didn't like the men that happened to be bathing here at this particular time as well. But the water was nice... and maybe she could find.... someone to start moving up around here, though.
She took a breath and dunked under the water. She came back up with a breath, shaking her long blonde hair before turning blue eyes around her. Oh she recognized that rider over there. He was one of the Southern riders who had caused such a stir... and he was a Wingthird... The wingsecond, though seemed to be, by his behavior, very wrapped up with the new Southern Candidate Master. It was a shame too... though... the Candidate Master was a lovely woman who interested her... but. Oh well.
She smiled at him and dunked under the water again, holding her breath for a moment before coming back up again, this time with a rather giddy and laugh over all.
"It is very nice and relaxing to have such nice warm waters these days, isn't it?" she said aloud for anyone to here, though she meant for him to hear. She meant for him to enter the conversation. Now... she just ahd to hope that her daughter didn't come looking. "Anori... go watch Annaleise." She whispered forcefully to the little brown before smiling warmly and winningly at the man. he was handsome... and likely not had the best night. Maybe she coudl fix that... Men were so dependent on women. Ha! this one was just as bad as the ohters.

Faranth he needed this! J’degar breathed a sigh of relief as he sunk further into the water, attempting to relax his muscles. He really wondered how much more of this he could handle. A hand moved to rub idly at his temple. Weyrlings acting out in lessons, the weyrfolk making snide comments every time they passed, that green’s flight… and waking up next to K’lin. Ugh. What did he do to deserve all this? Ok, so maybe he should learn to keep his sexist comments to himself. Okay… he was getting better… yet the treatment they were getting only seemed to be growing worse. At least he could relax for now.
He had sunk into to a very comfortable position, quickly ignoring the few others who were in the bath, when a light splashing alerted him that a stage had occurred in the occupants. He cracked open an eye, glancing about to see if someone had left, but instead noticed a young woman had arrived. He had every intent to just ignore her and continue on with his relaxation, but he saw he smile at him from the corner of his eye. No one at Trelis EVER smiled at any of the Southerners… except perhaps that stupid woman-rider.
“Nothing better than a quiet bath to wash away the troubles of the day,” He agreed lazily, hoping she would take the hint that he was in desperate need of some real rest and relaxation.

Oh... so he wanted it quiet. "Quiet is as quiet does, I suppose... but... Even quiet is not quite worth it without someone to share the silence with." Her voice was a purr as she moved just a bit closer, quiet, but her posture and the arch of her back suggested that she wanted his eyes on her. She wanted to attract him. She wanted his attention. She ran a hand through her hair and sink down into the water near J'degar and closed her eyes, letting her hair float out around her in a bit of a screen. It was warm and nice.
She felt rather... annoyed t hat she hadn't gotten much of a reaction from him just yet.
It was about then that Anori came back, chittering and showing her images of her daughter who was now wandering... "Anori! I told you to keep an eye on her!" She stood up quickly, climbing out of the bath and pulling a towel around herself as her daughter showed up at the baths. No no no! This couldn't happen! She let a little hiss between her teeth. "Honey... You can't go everywhere with me..."
The little green flitter on her daughter's shoulder came flying in now. She turned her daughter around and frowned as the young woman who was supposed to have been keeping an eye on her. She was very apologetic for losing her and it took Assaila a lot of determination not to let her irritation and anger show at the girl. "Please take her to play with some of the other children. I'll be up soon." She still held the piece of cloth tightly around her as she smiled at her daughter and gently kissed her forehead. "Mommy will be up soon. Maybe later we'll see if we can't find someone with some puppies or kittens to get you one. I know you miss your little cat..." The girl smiled and giggled, but soon, she was headed back up to play with the other children. She hoped her little daughter hadn't seen the people here... but once she was gone... She slipped back into the water and gave a sigh. Oh... Annaliese.

His eyes were narrow slits as she spoke and he was doing all he could not to snap at her. Though she likely didn’t mean to, she was bringing forth memories J’degar didn’t want to see. Memories of his wife sharing a bath with him, of the happy silence they would share from time to time. Who was she to tell him how to spend his free time. As she moved closer J’degar shifted slightly away.
“It all depends who that someone is.” He replied gruffly, watching her flaunt herself. At least, he assumed that’s what she was doing. He didn’t have much time to dwell on it though; a young child came into the room and seemed to distracte the woman long enough for J’degar to put some real distance in between them. His eyes softened at the girl though. Children were one thing Gar could never hate.
“Cute kid”

"Thank you. Annaliese is my pride and joy. She deserves a better life than I can give her, though..." She was being very honest as she moved to sit on the edge of the baths, pulling a towel up around her shoulders. She looked down at the water, a far away gaze coming into her eyes. Was she actually... vulnerable...? Maybe a little. One thing that always made her really think about her life... really... regret things was her daughter. Her sweet Annaliese.
She was the wife of a Lord Holder not so long ago... an abusive one at that. Endesor was not a fate she would have wished on her worst enemy. She didn't want her daughter to be scarred because of her father... or because of the way that her mother lived to support them. She wanted her away from all the bad things that she would do. The things that no one seemed to understand.
She sighed and smiled again, masking her pain and those things which she had no yet dealt with and likely would not deal with behind a mask of... flirtatious desires.

Something about her previous statements had irked him. Perhaps it was the way she said it, or perhaps the content involved, even Gar couldn't quite place his finger on it. Her talk of the little girl though, it seemed honest in a way the rest of her words hadn't and he allwoed himself a slight, barely noticeable smile.
"Can't get much better than an open Weyr like this," He replied gruffly. It wasn't supposed to sound negative in anyway. Trelis seemed to except everyone and everything, there were no prejudices, the rules were slack; for most people it would be paradise and even a child in the creche would have a better life than children raised in Holds. "She's lucky to have a mother who doesn't abandon her in the creche. That's good if you ask me."
Despite his behaviour, J'degar was actually a bit of a family man at heart. He believed children should be raised by two loving parents whenever possible, though even one was passable. He always pitied weyrbrats who grew up in the creche even though he understood riders didn't always have the free time to raise them properly. Well, he had done his best with his own living son.

"It really isn't the place... It's the life I live and... She has had to live." She sighed and sank down into the water sadly. SHARD IT! Why was she being so open with him.
It was simple. She was coming to the point where if she didn't share with someone, she would explode. She sighed and bit her lip. no... but she couldn't tell him about that. Not at all.
She had some scarring on her body, but they were hardly noticeable. She still had bruises, but she did her best to hide them. Her skin, at least, appeared entirely unmarked. She was lucky, she supposed. Her beauty had been maintained through it all. And wealth and power. Those were things she would find a way to close in on.
"Her father is dead. We fled the small hold that we were from shortly after. He was a cruel and viscous man." That was all she said before falling quiet again. Anori sent her pictures of her little girl and she smiled warmly. Her little five-turn-old Annaliese. And the girl certainly was small. She looked quite a bit like her mother, though.
Assaila just sat there, looking down at the water, her brows furrowed.

"So up and change it." Faranth why were women so incapable of handling the simplest things in life. Changing your life in a weyr was one of the easiest things to do. Shards he hated incompetence. He had the feeling that she wasn't done speaking to him; however, and soon she was spilling her entire life story to him as if he cared. Ugh, he wanted to relax, not deal with stupidity. He didn't try to stop her though; he wasn't that cruel. He would listen and maybe reply if he felt like it.
"You've fled, you escaped. Is your life still shitty or can you just not drop the past. Shards." He wasn't exactly one to talk... the loss of his wife was still affecting his every day choices, so he was being hypocritical at best, not that he cared.
"Look woman. Stuff happens. You deal with it and you move on. The girl is free now, she'll grow up surrounded by overly friendly people, and she'll make something of her life." His grimace was growing. "Besides that, the bastard is dead so why does it matter." Kids, more than any other human, were able to bounce back to harsh events. He doubted the girl would even remember the man much after a few Turns.

"I am tyring to change it by Faranth's sake! But you know why it matters?! I KILLED HIM! It's my fault he is dead! I sharding took his life for my own self defense! My daughter deserves a mother who ISN'T a SHARDINGE MURDERER!" With that she stood and grabbed her towel, wrapping herself up tightly. "We escaped... And now... We'll see what happens I guess. I still need to pay for the crime. But... Life is what it is. Fight against it or let it rule you." She sighed and continued walking, heading back to her precious daughter. Annaliese would get another flitter or maybe a kitten or pup.
She brushed her hair back over her shoulder. She was a sharding murderer. In more way than one. She half expected her to have her detained right then and there. She half expected him to yank her off her feet and threaten to drag her back to that hold for her punishment. "He was the Lord Holder. If that makes any difference. Probably not."
She sighed and turned away again. She half hoped he decided to deliver her for her punishment. She had a killed a man... but she had killed another man as well... It couldn't continue... it just couldn't.

Ah, so there was the root of the problem. Now her ranting made at least a little bit of sense. Faranth why wouldn't she just. Get. OVER IT!?
"Oh what's that? Is that your mushy, weak little heart eating away at you?" He snarled, no pity in his eyes. "I dare you find someone in the Weyr who hasn't done something they shouldn't have done. People live. People die. If it bugs you that much go turn yourself into the Weyrleaders, otherwise shut your yap and just take care of the girl." He had done things that he would never want to speak about. Sure, he hadn't killed anyone (as far as he was aware) but he had damn well poisoned Inali, the woman who had kept in Trelis instead of shipping him off like she should have. Was that wrong of him? Yes, did it matter now? Not at all.
"The past is the past. Whining and moaning about it like a Lady Holder isn't going to change what you've done. But at least consider the brat. You want to raise her don't you? Go ranting about how you kill people for a living and she'll be shipped of to the creche permanently." He dunked his head under water as she walked away. "Not like I care either way."

"It it's that easy! Why don't you tell me how to get over it since you seem so wise and incredible! But of course! Why should I care what you have to say, right?! I don't go around moaning about it! If I did, do you think that I, who was born and raised to be a Lady Holder, would still be walking the streets or still have her child!" She wheeled on him, half intending to stalk over to him and slap him, but she didn't. Instead she kept walking. "Well... Bieng honest didn't do anything for you... Would you prefer the lies... Or just the quiet of being alone. Since you seem oh so lonely. You aren't innocent. That I can see. And you have a great weight on you... a loss you don't talk about. I know men well. It's easy to read them." She smirked and took a few more steps towards the exit.
Oh and he was handsome. That was the next thought in her head. But he probably wouldn't hesitate to hit a woman either. It would bother her. It always would. But she wanted him riled up. she wanted to get under her stand... But something she was not trying to do... was get hurt.

"Tut tut, you wanted advice and I gave it to you." he replied with a snarl, though he didn't move from his spot, "It's not my fault you're ungrateful, My Lady" The title was said with a sneer, as if he doubted her claim. Not that it mattered, the fact she had killed a Lord Holder and run away meant she had given up that claim regardless. Now she was likely some lower caverns woman who just needed to get over herself.
"No, I'm not innocent. No more than you are." he replied with a sigh, massaging a temple with one hand. "But guess what, dimglow, I'm over it." Yes, he was annoyed now. He didn't want to have to think about his late wife, but this woman who didn't know a thing about him was talking about it as if she knew everything. Well, that was a tad unnerving as well.
"What do you want me to do woman, yell at you? Hit you? Take the place of your dead husband and tell you you've been a bad bad girl and deserved to be punished?" He shot at her, the annoyance quite clear on his face, "Such a shame I don't take orders from cavern wenches, isn't it."
