Talvi pushed back a clump of stray hair, and laughed as she watched her dragon play in the water of the river. Isn't this fun Frenath? She ran into the water, happily splashing as she did so. Frenath lifted her green head out of the water and crooned to hers. Talvi Mine! Let's do this again tomorrow! The green's soft voice was extremely breathy with the excitement she felt. That made her rider laugh even harder. It was always funny to listen to the green when she became excited. Alright Nath, we'll see about it. Talvi swam over to her dragon, and scratched her on her eye ridges. Frenath gurgled happily, and crooned when she got scratched on her eye ridges. This is probably the only activity that both dragon and rider got to enjoy together. Though, there were times when Frenath got a little overly excited, and ended up causing Talvi to take on a little more watter than she would like. Talvi swam to shore as Frenath dived under water once again, and started chasing the fish, an activity that extremely amused the green.

It was not long until another dragon joined them, his brown hide which was marked with a lighter tan color that traced across it much like how marble was lined. His claws were black and his wings somewhat a more orange color.Hello. He said to the rider and dragon below him, though he could not quite see the dragoness at the moment as he landed on the shore, allowing the dark haired man to slide from his back, dusting off his hands. Hmm... What a day. It was nice to have a bit of rest. He patted his big brown with a smile. "Well, Vinerath, go ahead and I'll join you in a little bit."
He waved to Talvi and walked over, putting his hands in his pockets. "Hey Talvi," he said with a small smile. He didn't know if she would remember him. It wasn't as if they had spent great amounts of time together. Though they did know each other. He looked back at his brown who walked out into the river and glided gently out into the water, enjoying the feeling of it on his hide. It was a very good thing, a very good day indeed. He flicked some with his nose. You are going ot join me, yes?
A'vin smiled warmly. "Of course, hon," he said aloud to his dragon before looking back at Talvi. They were too very different pairs, but... everyone had there way of doing things.

Talvi was laying on the sand as Frenath swam around in the water chasing the fish. Frenath looked up and crooned, alerting her rider to the apearance of another dring and rider pair. Talvi looked up, and wave to the rider as the dragon started to land. Greetings Vinerath! She fluttered her wings as she sent her greeting to the larger brown dragon, causing water to splash around her as she did so. Talvi laughed and rolled her eyes at her dragon's antics.
Talvi sat up as A'vin waved, and walked over to her. Hi A'vin, it's nice to see you again. She hadn't seen much of the brown rider, but she did remember him from the time they had spent together. She watched as Frenath tried to get the larger dragon to play with her. Come Vinerath! Play with Frenath! She dove under the water, trying to splash the larger dragon as she did so. Talvi looked over at the larger brown, waiting to see his rection to the smaller green.

As the mid sized fishing boat rounded a curve in the river there was a startled yell from the lookout. "Dragons! dragons in the river!"
Larin smirked, thoroughly entertained at the high note the seaman had hit. Jarrik would be getting grief for that for many a seven day if he was any judge, and he was quite a good judge of getting and giving grief.
Nevertheless, he hurried to the rail, looking over at the swimming dragons. Either of them seemed to dwarf the boat, as far as he could tell. It was hard to tell if they were as long but the huge wings and tail made the boat much smaller feeling then it had been moments before.
Were either of them search dragons? How could you tell? Think at them? Well, it was worth a shot. *I want to be a candidate. I am really good at mending line and scrubbing. I could swim with a dragon, if it chose me and I could teach him to fish!* Probably. If you flew above a school of fish, you could easily catch some of the big ones if you were a dragon. Or maybe a dragon could haul a net to bag some small ones? Huh. He'd have to think on that.
Wait, weren't Blues traditionally search dragons? Oh well, it wasn't like he only had a few thoughts to spare. He was thinking all the time, it was usually more entertaining then talking to the other sailors on this tub. Didn't the pair of dragons look at home in the water though? Almost like watching firelizards.
Larin's well trained ear caught the bellowed command to reef sail and he swung up into the lines. Slowing down to pass the dragons certainly made sense to him. It also meant there would be more time to watch them swim. He'd never been this near to dragons before.

Vinerath gave a draconic laugh. The green was very good at that, it would seem. Her antics were something amusing and could make one quite happy. He ducked his head under the water for a moment and picked it back up, shaking it, splashing water around. "Hey!" A'vin wiped a rather large drop which had hit him square in the face. Vinerath just laughed at him.
He turned back to Talvi. "It is nice to see you too, Talvi. How have you and Frenath been?" He smiled warmly and hten watched as Frenath attempted to get Vinerath to play. "hmm... I wonder if he will do it. I think he's really tempted..."
Vinerath was very tempted to play with her, he had to admit. He flinched his head back as he was splashed with water, but then he rumbled with draconic laughter and splashed back at her, his wings spreading, causing the water to move in waves. Vinerath will play with Frenat, he said with what sounded like laughter in his voice.
he dove under the water and swam there for some time before surfacing again, causing more waves than there had been just a moment before.

Talvi smiled, and giggled as she watched A'vin get splashed by his own dragon. We've been good actually, what about you and Vinerath? She looked up at the other brown rider as she spoke. It really had been a long time since the two of them had had a chance to just talk. Frenath warbled when the larger brown laughed. It was nice to make others happy. She rumbled happily when she saw the brown splash his own rider. She had been tempted to splash her own rider, but had decided not to.
Frenath beat her wings against the top of the water happily when Vinerath said he'd play with her. She crooned when she saw the frustrated look that Her's had on her face because she had accidentally splashed her in the process. Talvi wiped her face, and shook her head at her dragon. I really don't understand her sometimes. Her words weren't really meant to be heard, but she had said them out loud, so what did she expect? Frenath swam a little ways away from her larger brown friend when she felt something nagging at the back of her mind.
Talvi Mine! There is a candidate coming! Frenath's voice was breathy, as it normally was when she was excited, and she had a lot to be excited about since Vinerath said he'd play with her, and now there was a candidate. What do you mean Frenath? Talvi walked to the edge of the water, and watched as a boat came around the bend. Well, I guess someones just been searched. She hadn't planned on finding a potential candidate.
Talvi looked over at A'vin, wondering what he thought about this. Alright Nath, come here. It was part of her job to help search out candidates, and she couldn't just ignore her dragon. So when Frenath swam closer to shore, Talvi swam over to her dragon, and climbed onto the green's back. Might as well get this done and over with so they could get back to relaxing. The two of them waited a little ways off shore for the boat to come closer so that they could find the person Frenath had felt.

The ship had slowed down nicely. They were still making headway but nowhere near fast enough to be a problem for the dragons to avoid. The green one was fishing? Or just swimming underwater. Wonder how long they could hold their breath?
Larin spent a few moments imagining being towed through the water by a dragon. He'd need goggles to be able to see, but it would probably feel amazing to have the water rushing by his body. Rather like body surfing, or getting towed by the boat.
Alright, what where they doing now? The green dragon's rider was climbing on. Maybe they were going to take off? Or dive together? Was it actually possible the dragon had heard him? Life was seldom that easy, but this would be a really good time for an exception!
Looking around he saw that a few others had that same wild hope. Everyone knew there were eggs in the sands. It could easily be someone else. Oh shards. Larin's stomach started to churn a bit with nerves. They really seemed to be looking this way/

He grinned and laughed, reaching over and offering her what was still dry of his own shirt he had been carrying. "Well... I don't think we all really understand our dragons all the time..." He shrugged slightly as he watched the two playing in the river. "They do seem to enjoy themselves, though."
Vinerath swam after Frenath until she stopped, announcing the presence of a Candidate.
"Do what you need to," he said to Talvi with a smile. "We'll be here when you get back. Vinerath looked at Frenath and gave her a gentle croon. Do come back Frenath.
A'vin smiled, watching Talvi swim to her dragon. She was rather Impressive. It wasn't the first itme he had thought so about the Green Rider. Vinerath swam lazily there, watching her and Talvi go. Frenath is as well. She is a free spirit. They both are.
A'vin chuckled at his dragon. Sometimes it was nice to have a mindmate and sometimes it could be a bit annoying. He wasn't sure which it was this time.
It is nice, of course. Vinerath said with a draconic chuckle.

Talvi smiled back at A'vin as she held on to her dragon, who was currently swimming closer to the boat. Of course I will return Vinerath! We have not finished playing yet! It was obvious to tell that Frenath wanted to quickly find this candidate, and get back to playing with the larger brown dragon. Talvi patted the green's hide lovingly, but had to admit that she could be a pain in the butt at times. Though, she wouldn't trade Frenath for the world.
Talvi sighed as she waited for her dragon to find the candidate. There were plenty of people on the ship. Frenath looked over all the humans that she could see, and crooned when she finally found the one she had sensed. Him Mine! Frenath lowered her large head so that she was eye-to-eye with Larin. Talvi looked the man over, and wondered why her dragon had picked him as a candidate. She just couldn't see him as a candidate.
Well, I've learned better than to argue. Talvi sighed and shook her head. What's your name? All she wanted to do, was get back to shore that way she could continue her conversation with A'vin, and so that Frenath could continue to play with Vinerath. She watched him carefully, there had to be a reason Frenath had picked him, out of all of the people on this ship. She shook her head, and gave up trying. She had learned long ago not to argue with who her dragon chose, since most of them were riders now.

OOC: LOL! He is quite an entertaining candidate and weyrling! Thank you for searching him.
Well now. There was a dragon's nose in his face. And since it was a green nose, this was supposed t be one of the SMALL dragons. The sailors around him had drawn back in alarm but he had refused to move. Who knew, maybe they picked for bravery? Even if that were not the case, the last thing he needed was to look like a coward.
"Aren't you a pretty one?" Larin said, gently placing a hand on her nose. She had warm smooth skin, not dry or oily. "I'm really hoping this attention means you've searched me because I'm truly tired of spending my life with smelly old sailors."
What did her breath smell like? He'd thought it would smell like a canine's breath, but it was a cleaner smell. Huh. Perhaps the Weyr would smell much better then a ship's hold? That would be a nice change too.
