Frenath looked at each one of her suitors, and watched them carefully. She had to admit, Zalanth could fly, but when she felt her rider being reached for by his own, she hissed angrily and clawed at the blue dragon. How dare his rider think he could force him on Talvi! His dragon would have to pay for that since the green dragoness wasn't ready to head back to her own weyr yet. After roaring loudly at the blue male, and clawing at him rigorously, she turned her attention to the remaining males.
Talvi felt her dragon's wrath at K'tor's actions, and tried her hardest to pull the green away from the blue. She backed away from the man. Frenath had made it obvious that he wouldn't be the winner of her flight. I am sorry. Her words were soft, and had a hint of sadness to them. She knew her dragon had over reacted more than a little, but it was now clear that the man wasn't going to be her choice. She hadn't had too much interaction with him, so she wasn't totally upset.
Frenath crooned to the two larger browns. So this is what her flight had come down two. A single decision between two larger males. She beat her wings, slowing down quite considerably since the beginning of her flight. Her energy was leaving her, and instead diving and rising, and twisting and turning, Frenath opted for a flat out flight through the clouds. Her wings were outstretched, letting her glide over the warm thermals she could feel pushing her wings.
Frenath heard, and recognized Vinerath's song. She remembered the day they had spent playing with each other at the river, and the fun the two of them had. Though, she had heard Soheath's words, and couldn't get them out of her mind. She hadn't had much interaction with the brown, and didn't know him very well. She shook her head, and forced herself not to think about it. No, she had other things to consider in this flight. She roared in confusion, not knowing who to pick.
It is true you use no tricks Soheath. It is also true you haven't done much to prove yourself a true king. Yes, her words were slightly bitter, but Frenath didn't mind the fact that the others had sang to her. That Vinerath had sang to her. This wasn't the first time the green had flown, but it was the first time that a brown had ever sang to her, and tried to impress her. She had never been caught by a brown for this reason, and this reason alone.
Frenath knew then who her king would be, and let her wings relax. She started falling from the sky and crooned to the males. Come my King! Vinerath, catch your Queen! She let herself relax then, and sighed. This was the end, she could feel the wind rushing past her, and knew the ground was quickly approaching even though she was miles upon miles above it. She had flown long, hard and fast. She had done everything she could, now it was up to her brown King to catch her.
Talvi had only barely noticed that the other men in her room had been looking at K'tor unhappily, and now that she was slowly becoming herself again, wondered how long that had been. She watched shyly as Ad'os drew closer to her, and shuddered when she heard his voice whispering her name. She wanted to lean into him, and let him hold her because of that one, seductive word. That's when she heard the bitterness in her dragon's voice to his own brown, and pulled herself further away from him.
That left only one man for Talvi to let herself be held by. She felt herself drawn away from her dragon as soon as Frenath called for Vinerath. The young woman ran to A'vin, and wrapped her arms around the man. Hold me A'vin! She was scared, she could feel her dragoness plummeting from the sky, and was worried that the man's larger brown wouldn't catch her in time, before she hit the ground beneath her. She had tears running down her cheeks now, and just wanted it all to end.
