Inali tossed onto her other side, the sunlight creeping up through the open window onto her face. Blinking once, she sighed and glanced at nothing in particular. She was wonderfully warm, blissfully so despite the fact that it was fall. However, it was fall on The Island, which was saying like it was Spring elsewhere. Smiling lightly to herself, she drew a fingertip across the pillow. Reaching out for her dragon's mind, the Weyrwoman wasn't surprised that there was no answer.
There was however an answer from near her bed. A cry, piercing in the morning silence. Ghost jerked awake on the pillow beside her, the green hissing slightly before quieting again. Drawing herself up, Inali walked over to the crib where her child was. Loraketh had been beside herself with worry when Inali had given birth a week ago. It had been a few weeks after Maelath's hatching, only a week after the Junior Weyrwoman had announced she believed it better if she would transfer to another Weyr.
Inali didn't blame Iskra, with her own children now, Inali understood the need to not only protect one's dragon, but her young too. Oh, and yes, it was children. Inali glanced lovingly down at the two twin girls in the crib, one was awake, the younger of the two. "Inoria love, why are you crying? Did something wake you?" The young child cried again, no doubt bothering her sister. Cradling the small baby in her arms, the Weyrwoman rocked her gently back and forth, humming slightly.
"Don't worry love, I'm here now." The girl looked up at her mother, raising a tiny hand to wrap around a lock of Inali's dark hair. I told you that you'd be looking after your own young soon. Loraketh crooned from where the Gold's cave met the Weyrwoman's chambers. Walking over, Inali smiled as the Queen sniffed at the wrapped up bundle in her arms. She's special you know...they both are.

T'rian blinked his eyes sleepily when he felt Inali move. He groaned a little when he heard one of his daughters start to cry. Which one is it dear? His voice was heavy with sleep as he spoke to Inali. He had a feeling that it was Inoria though. So far he really hadn't heard anything from the older of the two twins. He sat up, and looked over at Inali as she made her way over to her dragon. Still nothing from Talian huh? He wiped the sleep from his eyes as he spoke.
Still nothing from Talian huh? T'rian wasn't sure if either of them had ever heard the baby so much as whimper. He slid out of bed, and walked over to the crib where the remaining child was, and picked her up. He smiled down at her as he wrapped the blanket tighter around her. Careful T'rianMine. Stallorth crooned sleepily as he sent the message to his rider. It seemed like the bronze was doing that more and more now that the babies had been born. T'rian rolled his eyes and walked over to stand beside Inali.
I wonder why they keep saying the babies are so special. T'rian looked over at the two dragons as he spoke. Stallorth had been really persistent in that fact, but he wouldn't tell him why. That was starting to drive the man nuts. His kids were supposedly special, and no one would tell him what was so special about them. He sighed and shook his head when all his dragon did was croon at him. He turned his dark brown eyes on Inali then, and smiled warmly.

Inali looked over her shoulder when she heard T'rian wake up. Watching him, she nodded as he took Talian up into his arms. "No, still nothing. She's so quiet." Inali looked at her other daughter, a loving smile on her face. "What do you think they'll be like when they're older?" She asked the question without actually thinking about it. Inoria crooned a baby sound in her arms, drawing her attention back to the child. "They're so little. It's amazing thinking I was like that one day so long ago."
Loraketh warbled, amused. All little ones are like that Mine. Your children hatch small, they grow up to be big...some more than others. The Gold laughed softly in Hers head, huffing warm air over to the baby. Turning her body around, the dragoness nodded toward Stallorth's shape. I think I'll check on my own twins. The Queen's voice held a slight humor as she stretched out her wings, letting the sun glint off the metallic hide. With that, she let herself fall and leveled out, no doubt going to see her two sub-queens.
Smiling as she watched her Gold shrink into the distance, Inali brought Inoria up to her chest so she could pat the baby's back. "Have you heard anything from Ista? Ulme only told me that R'en is the new Weyrleader there. Things are...a bit unsettled after so much change. First the old Weyrleader betweening with his King, and then the Weyrlings and their mother coming here. Do you think we were wrong to offer them sanctuary?" Inali turned her head slightly to kiss Inoria's forehead, humming lightly.
On her pillow, Ghost crooned softly. Then, as always, she fell silent again. "What a strange green."

T'rian smiled down at the silent baby in his arms, and nodded when Inali spoke. I have no idea, but I have a feeling their gonna be a handful! He chuckled slightly, and carefully rocked Talian. She smiled up at her father, but she didn't want to be rocked, she wanted food. T'rian saw the small smile, but something seemed off. If only she would make noise. He sighed and shook his head, he needed to find out why his daughter wouldn't even squeak.
Stallorth watched as Loraketh left, and pondered whether to go with her or not. Then his stomach decided to speak up. He grumbled as he stood up, and lept from the ledge, heading straight for the feeding pen. T'rian shook his head at his dragon when the large bronze left. Well, I get the feeling we won't be getting any answers from them any time soon. He was still frustrated with the fact that none of the dragon's would tell him why they think his children were so extra special.
Talian pursed her face, and pictured herself eating. She needed to find a way to tell her parents that she was hungry, but how? That's when the little baby felt it. She smiled and flailed her arms when she sent the picture to whatever it was she had felt. That thing actually being her mother's firelizard. T'rian raised his eyebrows and chuckled at his daughter's actions. She might be quiet, but she sure does squirm a lot! He looked at Inali as he spoke, wonder if she would understand Talian's actions.

Inali was about to answer her weyrmate when she saw a movement out of the corner of her eye. Inoria giggled and gurgled in her arms, laughing at something, and pointing to it. Ghost, shaking her head and hissing, was stumbling over Inali's pillow. Why were there pictures in her head when Hers hadn't sent them!?! Ungrateful, horrible, loud, obnoxious! Chittering, the normally tame and gentle green hissed again and lashed out her tail. Hers! Why was it not Hers?!? She screamed at Inali's mind, making the goldrider flinch before the green finally stopped. Sending a picture to the rider, Ghost hissed again. The baby was starving!
Inali at first shook her head, not understanding. "You just ate though Ghost. Why is she acting so strange?" That's when the green finally was able to connect everything in Hers' mind. "Oh. Strange that she's able to tell...she probably just was feeling her hunger. Funny, but I was pregnant with them when I impressed her. I know Leotie and Kierah both are impressed to the same green, maybe we are too?" She shook her head, dismissing it as just a simple impression oddity and nothing else. Going to place Inoria back in the crib, Inali smiled when the younger twin yawned and giggled again. "What's so funny you?"
Cooing, the baby girl reached up for her mother's hair before Inali went away to where T'rian was. "Here, let me have her and deal with it. You take care of some of that paperwork there." Nodding her head to the desk with a mound of transfers and other such deskwork, Inali smirked. At least it gave her not a reason to tackle it yet. "Alright love. Talian, let's get you fed."

T'rian chuckled at his daughter, who was still squirming excitedly in his arms. He was having a little trouble holding on to her, but had managed to wrangle her into a position that kept her from falling out of his arms. He turned and looked at Inali's normally silent firelizard when she started to hiss. Alright, that's not normal. He sounded slightly concerned, and wondered what had upset the green firelizard. He raised an eye brow as he watched Ghost stumbling over the pillow.
T'rian turned towards Inali, confusion and concern written all over his face. There was obviously something wrong, but there was no way of him knowing unless his weyrmate told him. He raised an eye brow when Inali spoke of food. I don't get it. He was totally, and utterly lost now. It was as if something had transpired right in front of his face, and he had missed it. He watched as Inali put Inoria back in her crib, and then came to take Talian from him.
T'rian handed over the older twin, and still had no idea about what had just happened. He gulped when he looked at the pile of paperwork, and hung his head. Yes dear. He would much rather be taking care of the twins than doing paperwork, but he guessed it would have to get done eventually. So he might as well get it done and over with so that it was out of the way. He sighed as he walked over to the desk and sat down. He pulled the first bit of paperwork to him, and set himself to work.
Talian on the other had was just squirming, and smiling as wide as could be. She really did think that this was funny. If she could laugh, she would be screaming with laughter right now. She didn't understand why her parents seemed so confused, but it was funny to see them try to figure out what was going on. She smiled up at her mother as she picked her up from her father's arms. She was finally going to be fed. She sent a picture to the firelizard once again, only this time, it was quiet, and her way of thanking the creature.
