6 Reasons to Join Mindirran Weyr:
1) This is a brand new weyr, so you can help define the direction it takes from the beginning.
2) Monthly Hatchings, either dragon, wher, or firelizard.
3) Two new dragon colors!
4) Clutching greens!
5) Female candidates may Impress the new dragon colors, brown and blue, as well as gold and green.
6) Many high-ranking positions in the weyr open for the taking!
Backstory:During the Interval between the 6th and 7th Passes, fertile fishing grounds were found off the coast of the Southern continent when a fishing vessel was blown off course. Before long, many of the holdless and those tired of tithing to Lord Holders moved to the Southern Continent to try and make their fortunes. Before long, more reputable people began moving as well, and Atalia Hold was officially established.
Several Turns later, it was noted that the mountains in the distance might be suitable for a weyr by Weyrleaders visiting for a Gather, and an investigative team was sent to survey the landscape to the south. They found many natural caves in mountains near a lake, and named it Mindirran Weyr, but construction to make the rough landscape a proper weyr was forced to be postponed. Nearly fifty Turns later, construction finally began, with Threadfall approaching again and a large population now on the Southern Continent to protect, but since the location is mountains and not a crater, construction took much longer than hoped. The Mindirran Hold was established to provide workers a place to live, and the land around it has proved fertile for crops and runnerbeasts.
A scant five Turns before Threadfall, the junior queen at Fort Weyr, Anaranth, who was near to rising for the first time, is sent to the Southern Continent with a small regalia of bronzes, browns, blues and greens, in hopes that they can muster a fighting force before Threadfall begins. Mindirran currently has only two very small wings and is in desperate need of dragonriders!
We hope you'll join us!
