Appearance:
At 6’2 Demetri is a rather tall man, standing above many peers, but he is by no means the tallest around. His silky, jet-black hair is always kept short and neat and makes his dark blue eyes stand out. Because of the time he spends in the sun, Demetri has a deep, rich tan that he believes accents his muscles, not that the accent is needed at all. This guy is buff, every muscle finely defined and almost bulging out of his skin.
He is a rather simple man, preferring his work clothes and boots to lighter, fancier clothes, but to him it all adds to the strongman appearance. Despite his tall, muscular shape, Demetri is shockingly graceful on his feet and is rarely seen with anything other than complete calm and grace in his movements.
Personality
Demetri is a very gentle, and caring person, though he does have a bit of a wild side, and likes to have fun in just about any way he can. He is VERY flirtatious, though, he knows when to quit. He's pretty good at following orders, but there are times when he just doesn't want to do anything at all. It isn't that he is bi-polar or anything, he just has his lazy moments. He is an extremely hard worker, and very diligent.
Demetri has a slight temper, though he is very good at keeping it in check. There are times when he just explodes, though, every time this happens he becomes extremely contrite, and will do just about anything to be forgiven, even if that means he has to beg for forgiveness. He is a very trustworthy guy, and will take secrets to his grave. He is a lot like a dog when it comes to his loyalty. Though, he doesn't really give that away freely, he makes people earn his loyalty.
Demetri knows how to take charge when it is needed of him, and he will do so with great dignity. Even though he is normally very care-free guy, he can be very commanding. He normally only acts like this in times of either great stress, or danger, and that is only when there are other's that need him to be that pillar of strength that they can hold on to. He is also a very good listener, and his friends often come to him to tell him about their problems, and ask for advice.

History:
Demetri was actually born at Trelis Weyr. His mother was a drudge, and he never knew who his father was. His mother would never talk about him, and would get really mad if Demetri ever asked any questions. Being raised in the weyr Demetri was used to being around the dragons and their riders.
He would often times run errands for the riders within the Weyr, or he saw them when he worked in the kitchen. His mother made sure that no matter what Demetri did, he always did his best, and always used his manners, especially when he was working around the riders, and other important people. Though, since he was just a kid during this time, he wasn't really allowed to do much. So he usually just stayed around his mother, and helped her with whatever task she was doing. As Demetri got older, he was allowed to do more around the Weyr, but his mother kept a short leash on who Demetri became friends with.
As a result of the way Demetri's mother treated him, he left her and applied for candidacy as soon as he turned sixteen. He was accepted into candidacy, just for the simple fact that there weren't many candidates. Demetri has always thought that the Weyr only let him enter into candidacy for the simple fact that they didn't want to have to send out the riders to go Searching for other candidates. So the more they found within the Weyr, the better. Demetri has been working, and doing chores as a candidate for a little over a year now. So far he is definitely liking his life as a candidate.
The Impression of the gold finally spurred the topaz to inspect the candidates herself. There was no way she was going to be outdone by that...brat. First, she needed a rider, though, and food. Preferably in that order. She craned her neck around to get a look at all of them, but she naturally gravitated toward the male candidates, sensing that her rider was among them.
For all her hanging back and wandering before, she didn't take long to pick out her rider once she actually started looking in earnest, and almost as though she could hear the thoughts running through his head, the topaz turned her attention to Demetri, and she crooned, eyes whirling with amusement. Ah, silly D'triMine. As if your Chahaturth would ignore you. And we'll make sure nobody ignores either of us from now on. First, though, I need food, and you need to get this stuff off of my hide.

Iona, just like most queens, commands respect from other flits, and will not tolerate disobedience. She is a very fierce, and possessive flit, and will not hesitate to attack anything, or anyone, she considers a threat to, not only herself, but anything she deems worthy of her protection. Iona doesn't share very well, and has a tendency to hide anything she thinks is worth her time. She can be very motherly, especially when it comes to very young humans, and flits. She can be extremely gentle, and caring, even to the point of being overly protective. Yet, she normally has good intentions in mind, even if it doesn't seem like it.
Appearance:
Iona has a bright gold body, and a deeper, darker gold underside. Iona's wings look like a creamy butter in color, and are slightly translucent. She is lean, strong, and, if you ask her, was built perfectly. All of her parts fit together seamlessly, and work perfectly. She has a long, elegant tail that can be quite the lethal weapon. Iona looks good no matter what she's doing.

Appearance:
Chahaturth is more or less average size with somewhat dainty proportions for a topaz, though still a bit on the bulky side over all. A pale topaz with swirly orange markings on her body and wings. Neck and belly are a pale yellow. She holds her wings close to her body, but even that makes her look more feminine.

Outgoing, likes making friends, wants to be the center of attention, confident, devoted, a defender of others, protective, possessive.

The sweet clarity of nectar, and the brilliant ding of a silver bell, Chahaturth's mind-voice is an awakening sensation. Before you hear it, you are in the dark and the fog, but once it enters your mind, all of that falls away in the breath of the sun and glory of the day. Chahaturth has the ability to chase away all woes and evils in the heart and mind, and delights in doing so. There's something sweet about Chahaturth's mind-voice, but not sickeningly sweet. It's a clear sweet, one like fresh water after all you've had is salt, and it's refreshing like the sun and a light breeze after the cold of winter.
