Iirla sat in the dining hall on her own. She had yet t get food today. She was waiting for D'rian of all people. Sure she had only just recently started to trust him... but... Bit by bit, she was finding herself trusting him more... and even starting to like him. After all, trusting someone and liking someone were two very different things. He wasn't so bad. Not at all.
Izanycorth snorted from where she sat in the Weyrbowl. Of course he's not! My brother chose him after all! Didn't he? Iirla smiled slightly. That was very true. And Kelath was quite the bronze. He felt the need to take care of everyone. He was much less self-serving than any other dragon she ahd yet to meet. And definitely much more stable than her Izanycorth.
Izanycorth seemed to sigh. Mine... I don't want this. Can we please... just give it up and go exploring? I'm not good enough. I know I have to... but... But... I just can't. I'm not strong. I'm not a gold like everyone else. Iirla smiled slightly. That was the Iz that she had first Impressed to... It was the Garnets that brought out her dark devious side... She only ever admitted her real feelings to Iirla... She lashed out in frustration and lack of self-confidence otherwise... She could feel her dragon's self-concious feelings and nature and she felt her heart swell. Oh darling... don't ever believe any of that. You are perfect and you will be a great gold. You just need to grow up a bit more. And you need to let go... be yourself. Be the fun loving exploring gold that I know... instead of the devious one or the one that pretends she feels no self-conciousness at all...
I cannot, LaMine... I must act like a queen because... I am a queen. She didn't seem to understand what her rider meant by the devious her or anything of that sort. Iirla sighed. Oh Izanycorth....
She looked up as her stomach rumbled and wondered when D'rian would get here. Would you like me to ask Kelath where he and his are and when they are coming?
No darling... it's okay.

D'rian cursed loudly as he stumbled into the wall as he hopped on one foot attempting to pull his other boot on. He was SO LATE!!! He hoped Iirla and Iz wouldn't have been waiting too long, and if they had, that they wouldn't be too mad at him. He'd been pleasantly suprised when Kelath had told him Iirla wanted him to join her for lunch and knew that Kelath planned to spend that time with Izanycorth if she would allow it. Kelath sighed and wrapped his neck around His, holding him steady so the black boot was easier to pull on.
"Thanks Kelath, Have Izanycorth tell Iirla I'll be right there okay?"
Kelath watched His bemusedly as he disappeared down the hall toward the dining hall at a quick trot. He'd told D'rian a bit earlier just when Izanycorth mentioned it, but His had been in the middle of blade training so he wasn't exactly presentable. D'rian had been quite the spectacle once his mind had gone from the pleasure at being invited to lunch, to the realization of how he looked. Sweaty, and dirtstreaked with his hair plastered to his face and neck. He'd run like hell for the bathing chambers in the caverns and then ran back up to their chambers in nothing but a towel.
Kelath snorted remembering the shock of the weyrbrats he'd passed on his way back to the room. He'd had a hard time controlling his laughter at that one, and D'rian had become grumpy with him. His had grown fond of Iirla, and with the link they shared, he obviously knew the devotion He had for Izanycorth. It could make things more complicated sometimes, not knowing who's feelings were who's.
IzanycorthQueenandSisterMine, He's almost there. I apologize, I should have warned you how concerned he is about his appearance when in the presence of your Iirla...
He started toward the weyrbowl and arrived just a moment or two before D'rian skidded into the dining hall. He offered Iirla a sheepish smile when he found her sitting on her own.
"Sorry to keep you waiting Iirla..."

Iirla had little idea of all that was going on after she had invited D'rian to have lunch with her. It was no lie that Izanycorth had a soft spot for her bronze brother... or for the Istan garnet. Both of which had affects on Iirla's own feelings for their riders respectfully. She just hoped that things turned out well in the end.
Iirla smiled at some of those passing who asked if she would like to join them, but told them she was waiting for someone. If he said he was going to be here, he definitely be here. It was just a matter of when he got here. She felt slightly irritated, but she tried not to let it get to her. There had to be a good reason. He was almost never late. But he always looked a little flushed when he arrived.
Izanycorth rumbled in amusement. Well. She will not be too upset. She will probably just be relieved he comes. But don't let either of them know I told you that. Iirla Mine would not be happy with me. She rumbled again in amusement.
Izanycorth... what has you so amused? Iz didn't reply to her rider's question, but rather ignored her.
Izanycorth crooned at the sight of her brother. I am always glad to see you, KelathBrotherMine. She stretched her neck towards him and nuzzled him gently, rather tenderly.
D'rian smiled warmly at her and she stood up. "It's alright D'rian. I'm just so glad you could come have lunch with me." She came a bit closer to him, feeling a pull to hug him or touch his cheek. But... she wasn't sure if that had to do with Iz or herself, but it didn't matter. She wanted him to make the first move in this case.

D'rian stepped close to her and took her hand raising it gently to his lips. She'd been easier around him lately. If she hadn't he never would have gone with that, but she had, and so he did.
"As if I would ever pass up an invitation to have a meal with the most lovely woman in the weyr." He smiled tugging her hand gently as he started toward the kitchens for something to eat. "Come on, you must be hungry."
Kelath chuckled softly and nuzzled Izanycorth adoringly.
"It will be our secret sistermine. As always, you shine with the radiance of the sun and bring warmth to my otherwise frozen world. It certainly seems they are both rather fond of each other don't you agree?"
(( sorry it's so crappy. next one will be better i promise! T.T))

She smiled slightly. He always treated her like royalty. It was... flattering. Very flattering. And his words were also very flattering. "Thank you..." she said rather softly, a bit unsure, but she smiled anyways, feeling the slightest heat come to her face.
She was about to say... she was not that hungry... but that was untrue and it was proven as such as her stomach rumbled and she put a hand over it quickly, her other still in D'rian's as he guided her towards food. "Um... I guess... there is no need for me to say anything...." she felt her cheeks flush with heat as she was embarrassed.
She didn't hesitate to follow him as he pulled her toward the food gently. He was being gentle. He was proving himself to her more and more every day.
Izanycorth crooned and moved around him, rubbing her tail along his side gently, coming around to his other side and nuzzling him again.
KelathDarlingBrotherMine. It will be a great secret between us indeed. She crooned, feeling a deep... something... at his words. I am sad to hear your world is frozen... but I am glad to be a sun in it. It does indeed seem that way. She definitely ahd a very soft spot for her brother.
((It's still short....))

He smiled looking at her as they walked. "Iirla. That's just your body helping you remember common sense. I know you were just a hairs bredth away from telling me you weren't hungry." He let his hand rest lightly at the small of her back as they passed through the entryway to the kitchens.
These small bits of contact with her. The light touches were all innocent intentions of course, but he couldn't help but notice the slight spikes in his pulse that coincided with each one. Kelath's feelings for izanycorth were there in the back of his mind, but they had very little to do with what he felt for the girl herself. The warmth, easiness, and happiness he felt was all her doing. They were his own feelings.
His musings left a silence between them and he explained himself to fill it.
"I don't quite understand why, but most women think it's modest and attractive to be demure and never need anything. Personally I think that's rediculous. You're much lovelier and appealing if you're open and honest about what you need... And what you want."
His voice grew softer at the end of his explanation, almost as if he were hinting at something but he didn't speak again. Thinking silence was safer than taking his own advice at that moment. All he really wanted at that moment was to see if he could make her charming blush stick around and make her smile.
Kelath rumbled contentedly as he watched her circle him. He really did like his Izanycorth. He was calmer and easier going when he was with her.
IzanycorthDearSisterMine, as long as I have you with me there's no need for me to ever be sad. How are you and yours holding up with all that's been going on lately?

Iirla blushed even deeper as he said exactly what her intention had been. "I... Alright. You got me." She grinned. "But... I don't want you to feel bad for being late...." She resisted the urge to poke him in the side.
Iirla couldn't help but feel the slightest increase in her pulse as his hand lightly touched the small of her back. She felt her head racing, her thoughts incoherent for a moment. She didn't even notice the pause. She felt... comfortable with him. It was typical and normal.
"Most women just rather not admit that they need anything... They rather the man figure it out... Often the same as what they want. They rather a man figure it out and try to coax it out of them..." She grinned and blushed again. "Though... I see your point."
Her smile was warm as they approached the kitchen. She took in the smells and let out a small sigh. It smelled so good. Her stomach rumbled again and she couldn't help it if her stomach started to rumble again. Her face turned a deep red color again.
Izanycorth sat, her shoulder against his and crooned.
KelathDearBrother... she crooned and nuzzled him, not having any words to say necessarily. We are doing... alright. It is hard. Mine is so worried and stressed... and I am so.... tired and angry of late. It is so hard..... She was quiet again as she settled herself down on the ground beside him.

Kelath's pleasure was a tangible thing, it seemed to D'rian. His bonded dragon was transmitting such feelings of contented warmth that he had to make sure they were actually coming from his dragon and not shigure lying upside down in front of the hearth after a meal again.
Kelath stretched tucking his head protectively over Izanycorth's, like a human would do. pressing close against her and humming soothingly. "As a queen it is harder for you than it would be for others, MyOwnLove. Such things are expected of you... " he heasitated before continuing, trying to find the best way to help her. "Your spirit is not that of the traditional queen. People expect tradition, but it is not the place of others to choose who you are Lovemine. You are a queen, beyond the reproach of anyone. Be yourself and all will love you for it. You only make yourself suffer by trying to adhere to the standards others have set. And any time you need to rest. Call me. I shall protect and make sure no one disturbs you."
D'rian's mental grin was enough to make the bronze send him an angry shove. keep your amusement for yourself and butt out 'rianmine
Drian's smile was on his face as he shook his head. "Sorry Iirla, sometimes sharing a mind is a bit distracting. Very well. Since I know it's your wish that i not feel bad for being late, I won't. But I didn't exactly want to show up the way I was when kelath told me. Blade training ya know?" His chuckle was light before it turned a bit darker, richer. "If I knew you trusted me implicitly, I'd love to try coaxing you to tell me what you want... " His smile turned devilish and "But I wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable, and besides, It DOES smell good doesn't it?"
He pressed her gently forward, using the excuse to touch her again. What he wouldn't do to coax her until she told him exactly what she wanted. each and every thing she wanted. Once again he gave a mental order to Kelath to hurry and grow up. He was exceedingly greatful for his dragon, but some things it was hard for even HIM to give up.
"Ladies first."

DearestMine... She crooned softly and lay her head down across Kelath's own paws, tucking her body tightly against his. I have no words to thank you with... But... I i know you are right and I believe it is something... I need to try to keep in mind. The young queen was quiet then, not sure what else to say at this point You and yours support mine and I so well. You give us so much comfort when things are hard.... and so much support. You love me for who I am... More than the others ever do or will.
She lifted her head up again and gently licked his cheek in the form of a draconic kiss. He was a very good Bronze. A great bronze. He would be the best. She had confidence in him.
Iirla grinned. "I understand that." Then, with a more a deep blush and a teasing expression, "Oh, but even like that, I don't think you would have looked bad, D'rian." She did poke him then, just gently in the side, smiling at him, her smile almost devilish.
Her smile turned sly at those words. "Oh... why don't you? I don't think I'd feel too uncomfortable with that. AFter all.. I do trust you. Though... I'm sure you could figure it out without too much difficulty after a time." She gave him a flirtatious look. It was fun... though... this wasn't something she reallyl had done or thought much of recently. But.... Well... This was D'rian and she had to admit. She was starting to really trust him. With her life, even. And... well... maybe it would be more than that some day...? Who knew, right?
"It does." She smiled and stepped in, grabbing a tray. "What do you say to heading up to going somewhere quieter to eat after we get our food...?" Her comment was probably a bit unexpected to say the least, but... she really did wnat some time away from everyone. She wanted to really spend time with someone she actually wanted to be around for awhile.
