Izanycorth held her head high as she walked amongst the stalls of the Gather. Iirla was not particularly interested, but Izanycorth, though for the moment, acting very queenly, was giving off feelings of curiosity. She was enjoying this - walking around outside amongst others, but at the same time, she felt self-conscious... like she would mess up. Like her oddly colored hide was not accepted.
She turned sharply as she felt someone touch her, hissing. The young girl drew back, nearly crying. "Izanycorth!" Iirla said sharply, going to the young girl. "It's alright..." She looked at her queen with a glare who swished her tail, looking ath er rider as if she didn't understand what it was that she had done. Others besides her should not touch her without asking first. Simple as that.
"Come on, Izanycorth," Iirla said and sighed. It isn't okay to do that kind of thing, Iz! You have to learn to be gracious. Please!
Izanycorth shook her head and snorted, feeling chided, but not wanting to let it show. That wouldn't be what a gold would do, would it? She just wanted to explore and have fun. She didn't want the responsibility that came with being a queen!
Ama appeared then. She chittered, wanting food. She was hungry now and she sent that image to hers demanding that she be cared for immediately.
Quiet, pest. She looked at Ama, who fell quiet. She gave what could only be a sigh. She didn't want the power, but... Somehow, it was enjoyable at the same time. She looked at the flitter.
Iirla scratched her head. She was starting to be a real handful, her gold, but she loved her all the same. "Come on, Iz, Ama." She headed towards a booth which had sweet rolls. She was hungry herself and a sweet roll did sound good...

Oh yes, it would seem the time had come for yet another Gather. Now usually this was a time of joy and relaxation but for one young man it was quite the opposite. His head was bent and a look of deep concentration was masking his features. Usually there would be throngs of women and young girls chattering idly away at him, trying to catch his ear along with his eye but now that he was in Trelis, his popularity had dropped drastically. He was a Rider now but did that mean he lost his former title of Istan Lord Holder? Vl’kan spared a glance to the young garnet walking a few paces before him. Did his unintended Impression to his Thormyth lose his former place back home? He scowled at the thought and shook his head. No, he much preferred to be here then back at that prison with that bastard who murdered his mother.
Thormyth must have picked up on His’ sour train of thought and fixed his red streaked gaze on the man. Don’t worry yourself Vl’kanMine. Once I have grown stronger and can fly us, we shall pay a visit to our old home. They will have wished they hadn’t crossed us and will crumble before our might. The young dragon lightly head butted the man in the side, a small sign of affection, before his skull swiveled to bare his fangs at a young trader who nearly stepped on his tail. Even though Vl’kan could feel the malice and anger in his companion’s voice the former young Lord would have reprimanded him for it but today, for right now, he rested his hand on his young Thormyths head and continued to walk through the crowd. A sly grin played with his features the whole time as those gathered quickly parted to let the infamous garnet and his Rider through.
Their stroll must have taken them past the row of stalls that held all the delicious smelling food because all at once a wave of different, wonderful smelling aromas hit the pair. Almost immediately their stomachs collectively rumbled and Vl’kan felt the pangs of hunger from, not only, his young garnet but also the young huntyre chick, Starfire, who had hatched just minutes ago. Vl’kan chuckled as Thormyth slithered his way over to the nearest booth of roasted wherry meat and stuck his snout on the counter, easily startling the young girl behind the stall. The former Istan offered his apologies to the young lady and paid for a few slabs of meat for the young dragon and the little huntyre, who settled onto Thor’s head, much to his dismay but to Vl’kans amusement, to eat her share. Vl’kan, however, was craving something sweet himself. So after buying a nice glass of fine Benden wine for himself, he slowly made his way over to a stall selling some tantalizing sweet rolls.
Before he had a chance to reach his destination, however, a young child darted out in front of him and successfully tripped him up. Choking on a mouthful of wine, Vl’kan stumbled a few good feet to his right and nearly lost his balance before bumping into another weyrling who seemed to be on her way to the sweet roll stall as well. A string of low profanities left him as he hastily pulled himself away from the girl, unconsciously brushing the wing of her young gold as he stepped back, hoping he hadn’t spilt any wine on her or her dragonet. “Sorry; a loose weyrbrat tripped me up. Are you alright?” Naturally Vl’kan would offer the girl his apologies, forcing himself to be polite although it was clear he was slightly annoyed at the child who had caused him to nearly fall into her. Thormyth, however, saw everything and with a hunk of roasted wherry still clamped in his jaws, instantly stalked to His’ side and hissed at the other pair, as if it were their fault for what had befallen His. Starfire cheeped and wobbled uncertainly atop the garnets head as he hopped to Vl’kans side, annoyed herself at her meal being interrupted and wiggled her fuzzy red wings at the girl, and Vl’kan, in a chiding manner.

Izanycorth raised herself up as high as she could, her wings spreading, tail lashing. How dare you Garnet! Hiss at a QUEEN and her rider! And you! Her jaws clamped shut sharply with a rather audible click. Did they not think she was a queen! She was gold! Albeit, oddly colored, but still! The young gold was instantly angry and irritated and jealous of the other females who seemed to garner more attention. She was different, she knew it, but that didn't mean that this GARNET could treat her like any other female! Hmph. He was nothing like Braymoth. And certainly nothing like Kelath.
She was puffed up and irritated and angry. "Izanycorth.... Please... Calm yourself. It was an accident and an overreaction." She turned to Vl'kan before dusting herself off. "Hello. I am Iirla of Gold Izanycorth." She nodded her head to Vl'kan in greeting. "You're the lord holder from Ista who Impressed to Garnet Thormyth." She had heard of him. She had been spending time taking care of Izanycorth and raising her... as well as trying to learn of and get to know everyone she could in the Weyr.
Izanycorth didn't seem to be overly concerned with that. Hmm... he was somewhat handsome. Izanycorth gave another low hiss. She did not like Thormyth. He had hissed at her and at hers! Her eyes where whirling with red irritation.

Oh, I dare indeed. Thormyth looked on with mild interest as the young queen attempted to look bigger and more intimidating then him. Ah but perhaps this was a challenge, a worthy adversary, perhaps? His eyes whirled blue with delight at this line of thought. The fuzzy red huntyre chick cheeped in alarm as the gold dragonet rose up and flared her wings which caused her to tumble off Thor’s head in alarm and down on his back to land between his wings and his neck. She cried piteously from this spot and huddled against her BigRed. He would protect her, wouldn’t he? Thormyth snorted at the feelings he was feeling from the fuzzy young creature, ignoring her for now, and instead returned his crimson streaked gaze to the young gold before him.
Ah so she knew of him, but that was to be expected. After all, he was the great Garnet from Ista! Not one of those pathetic hatchlings from Trelis. He had been hatched to an Obsidian mother and wouldn’t even let her or his few siblings speak to him in such a manner. Naturally this intrigued him where normally the offender would have been met with a reprimanding swipe from his claws. Perhaps this was one female who wouldn’t simply fawn over his pristine appearance but present him a challenge in the way of conversation as well. I am well aware of who you are, Queen Izanycorth. I was there on your hatching day, I saw how those gathered laughed when your hide did not live up to their expectations of what a Queen should look like. The young Garnet ruffled his wings, almost as if disgusted at the prior memory, and twined his tail firmly around Vl’kan’s legs. They dared laugh at me on my hatching day as well but I assure you it was the last thing they ever did. If those brothers of yours who call themselves bronze and garnet had any sense they would have silenced those hecklers at once.
“Nice to meet you Iirla and Izanycorth and I’ll offer my apologies for the interruption once again. Thor’s just a little overeager at times.” Vl’kan finished what was left of his spilt wine and reached over and set the glass on the edge of a nearby stall. Turning back to the girl, his eyes widened slightly as she spoke of knowing who he was. Perhaps our reputation precedes us. Naturally, Thormyth hummed, fidgeting slightly as the movements of the fuzzy huntrye chick began to tickle a small spot at the base of his neck. “The name’s Vl’kan, in case you were wondering, but umm…” Ah, and here’s where he faltered. How were pleasantries supposed to go when she was a Queen Rider and he a Sub-King, or King really, if Thormyth were telling the story. Vl’kan averted his eyes and took a deep breath as though it would help erase the uneasy feelings that were spreading. Was he being held to the expectations of a Lord or a Rider? You are both Vl’kanMine, don’t forget it.
The former young Lord felt the reassurance from his feisty companion so he turned back to Iirla and smiled lightly. Well, here goes nothing. He made a quick motion over his shoulder to the direction of the vendor and his sweet rolls. “That’s where I was heading before our little encounter so if you want to join me I was planning on buying a few and could use some help eating them, if you were interested that is. You know, as me saying sorry again for nearly knocking you and your young gold over…” Thormyth snorted at the hesitation he felt within His and roughly, though it was his own odd sign of affection, snapped his tail against the back of the man’s legs. Vl’kan hissed lowly as the stinging sensation shot up the back of his legs and shot a sideways glare at the his bonded but he wasn’t deterred, instead he remained patient and quiet as he anxiously awaited an answer to his, more than likely, unexpected offer.

This was one of those rare times where Izanycorth would relish the ability to order around the other dragons. Oh yes. This... unsightly defiant creature! But... Then a new line of thought crossed her mind. Perhaps he would be one who was not expecting so much from her. Your fuzzy thing is amusing. And slightly annoying. That was all she said, her wings still spread. Her eyes whirled with a slight read even through her amusement. She was still angry and irritable.
At the mention of her hatching day and those who laughed at her, her eyes flared bright red again, her wings raising slightly, tail lashing. "Izanycorth..." Iirla looked at her chidingly, but the gold entirely ignored her.
The gold seemed to think about this. They laughed on your hatching day, Thormyth? She found that hard to believe, but then again... She still stood, her stance, to say the least, irritated, angry, and ready to defend at any second. Tell me... is that what you would have done if you were my brothers...? She almost sounded skeptical as she looked at him, considering.
Ama chose that moment to pipe up and, without a second's though, Izanycorth silenced her, giving a slight huff. Ridiculous bug. She did not like her's little... pet. But, that was one thing she enjoyed, being able to control the bug that pestered the both of them. Or, at least to her, seemed to pester the both of them.
Iirla blinked and gave a slight smile. "That's where I was headed as well, Vl'kan, and I'd be happy to join you." She put a hand on Izanycorth's side, gently patting her. She was growing quickly... She was going to be big. Very big... but... small for a gold. She smiled slightly. "It's forgiven, Vl'kan." She looked at them both, Thormyth and Vl'kan. They were very different than the other pairs she had met. Different than Braymoth and Yufa, most certainly.

Starfire chirped and eyed the BigGold carefully from the safety of her BigRed. Now that she was tucked safely behind his neck she didn’t seem so scary now. Humph! Thormyth rolled his shoulders in an attempt to dislodge the red fuzz and quickly craned his head around to snap at the disruptive creature. Vl’kan, at seeing this act for the second time that day, quickly moved to scoop up the young huntyre and held her gently in the crook of his arm as she loudly chided Thor once more. “I told you we don’t eat our’s or others pets…” The garnet huffed but spared one last glance at the red fuzzy before his attention waned to the new arrival of an oddly colored flit.
They did and ichor spilled that day. His eyes flashed for a moment at the memory, partial bliss and hatred at the thought, after all it was why he was the way he was. Why I would have tore the laughter from their throats and possibly more so but Mine would have no doubt stopped me, though it would have been a struggle at best. Thormyth replied easily enough, though he did offer a snap in the flits direction when it spoke without first being spoken too.
A smile lit up his features as she accepted his offer and he rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand before motion to Thor to follow along. They reached the stall in no time at all and Vl’kan quickly stepped up to the man behind the counter and had a quick few words with him. In no time at all the former Lord turned back around with a nice stack of freshly baked, and still warm, sweet rolls. Walking back to Iirla’s side, Vl’kan already had popped a piece of the sweet dough into his mouth and was happily chewing away as he offered the treat out for her to take.
He could do this, he could act like a regular guy while out in public. Munching on another piece he was momentarily distracted by what looked like his older cousin, F’lon, successfully parting some older man from his marks. Shaking his head at the sight he fixed his green eyes back on the girl standing beside him. “Have you been to many of Trelis’ Gathers? This is my first here and it’s interesting how each Weyr tends to do things differently.” There, a conversation starter. That should do it! Oh wait…is that even what regular people even talked about?! ...Shards... He kicked himself mentally at the thought but bit his tongue and instead popped another piece of a roll into his mouth to distract himself. Oh well, it was too late to erase what he said now.

The gold looked at him seriously. She wasn't sure if she hated him... or if she liked him. She gave a slight snort. It seems odd that they would have laughed at you, Thormyth. She shook her head. Seems they are foolish. Her wings stretched briefly and settled again. She seemed to consider this and her eyes whirled a nearly delighted color. That Green and that Topaz sister of hers should have met his claws and teeth. I cannot say that I wouldn't have appreciated it, her tone of voice was aggressive... with a nearly jealous undertone. Her tail lashed behidn her briefly. He was either a good adversary... or a good ally. They would have to see.
She focused her attention on the flitter again who remained silent now.
Iirla walked most of the way with him, though stopped before he got there, smiling. I have not seen you so... interested or so kind to another of his gender before. Why? The young queen was blunt with hers. It was not that she was ignorant, per-say. However... It seemed slightly odd to her that she would not show such favor towards her bronze brother's rider, but to this garnet's she would. Hmph. A rider who had knocked into hers and a garnet who had hissed at her no less! Her irritation flared briefly, tail giving a quick flick.
She smiled and took a piece, popping it into her mouth and savoring the taste. She blushed and smiled somewhat sheepishly. Her brown eyes followed where he looked and she frowned... She didn't htink she saw anything, really... Other than another Weyrling... being rather suspicious...
She smiled slightly. "Well... I've been to a couple. I suppose, though, that this one was better than the last. AT the last... Trelis was attacked... I'm sure you have heard about it... but... I hadn't been to one in a while before that... I was sick..." She shrugged slightly. It had been a common truth for her for some time. "But! I will say that attending the Gather with a gold, especially a rather... temperamental one... Well... has been a bit interesting."
Izanycorth turned to hers, and gave a soft croon before lashing her tail and looking away again. She was not temperamental!
Iirla shook her head and laughed, a rather light sound that seemed as though it could be carried away on a breeze.

Thormyth tilted his head slightly as her continued to slap her tail against the ground. The garnet resisted the urge to curl back his lip and flash his fangs her way when one lash of her tail caused a spray of dirt to fall across his claws. The male tossed his head back and snorted lightly, he could let it slide this one time at least. As I said their laughter did not last long. However if you so request, simply name your foe and I shall be more then willing to teach them some manners. Why wouldn’t he offer his services? Reeking havoc and causing pain were two of his favorite pastimes after all.
Vl’kan eyed his bonded carefully, cocking an eyebrow at the body language the garnet was putting off since he was unable to hear their conversation. I hope you’re behaving, Thor. Indeed, Vl’kanMine. We are simply discussing the best way to dispatch an ungrateful lesser being. Besides, she peaks my interest and has yet to annoy me like my sisters or brother. Vl’kan nodded briefly at the private words shared between them and shifted the young huntyre chick in his arm so he could pat the crimson head hovering by his side.
“Attacked? Really?” Vl’kan inquired as his green eyes flicked back to focus on Iirla. “Yes, I heard of that. I was still in Ista when it happened but it was still a surprise to hear dragons attacking another.” Thormyth crooned and seemed to pose proudly at these words. Though he held no interest in his clutch mother or sire, it was still nice to hear that he is the heir of a violent king. Vl’kan shook his head at the feelings emanating form his companion and instead popped another bit of roll into his mouth, seemingly quite happy that his conversation starter had worked and she hadn’t simply looked at him like a dimglow. “Maybe it’s something she’ll grow out of you think?” The young Lord idly rubbed at the back of his neck as he looked between the young gold and his own garnet. At least Iirla had hope of gaining a well mannered lifemate. Vl’kan didn’t have enough fingers to keep track of how many times his Thor has mentioned world domination and becoming a ‘god’ when he was fully grown. Oh well, at least he had someone who stand by him till the end and take the arm of whoever dared try to lay a harming hand on him.
“I think she just needs some friends is all,” he paused, glancing her way as her light laugh filled the air. “She’s a beautiful young Queen.” Nodding his head, as if confirming this, Vl’kan smiled lightly before lightly patting the red huntyre chick nested in the crook f his arm. His smile faltered slightly, however and he looked between Iirla and her Queen almost nervously. Was he even allowed to say that about her dragonet? They had only just begun etiquette classes the other day and was still unsure how to act around a higher rider. His eyes widened and he swallowed visibly. Could he even be having such a informal conversation like this?! He sighed inwardly and glanced down at his boots, he was beginning to feel like he was back in Ista and everyone was judging him on how he behaved in the public eye.

She almost seemed to smile draconically. Proof of your prowess as a warrior. She shook her head and curled her tail, calming herself. She seemed to consider this. I will remember that and I will definitely let you know. But, of course... I'm sure that it would not be hard to guess at least two of those who come to mind... She looked at him. He was so different from Braymoth. He was the only other Garnet she had met. Braymoth seemed to flirt with females adn make allies everywhere... but this Garnet, Thormyth, did not. She was fairly certain she liked him better. Hmm... She looked at the flitter who sat on Hers shoulder. She gave a slight hiss. Leave it. The flitter shrunk back from where she was stretchign towards the sweet rolls that the man nearby held. She hissed and her jaws clicked together. Annoying bug. Mine got the little sub-queen before my birth. She is such an irritant. Though, she is good for oiling my hide and helping Mine with that task... She seemed to consider this.
Iirla frowned at Izanycorth. Izanycorth...? What are you discussing? The gold just looked at hers. Matters of dealing with trouble makers... She frowned slightly. Alright, Iz... The gold turned her attention back to the Garnet. Some of your sisters are quite... annoying... she commented with a soft snort. The amethysts she had met of his clutch had been... yes. Annoying. And they thought they were so beautiful. More beautiful than her. She hated that! They were not more beautiful, more important or as great as a gold! And she WAS gold! Even if they didn't believe it. And they were so... so... Most of them were so stupid. It became annoying. Though... she supposed if she didn't have to try to make eveyrone believe she wsa gold, she could enjoy them. Enjoy playing with them.
"Yes... It was rather shocking. Several were injured... But none were killed in the attack." She seemed to reliving the memory. That was the same day of Ama's birth. Not that the flitter would really remember or care. " She smiled slightly at the flitter who had only moments ago been tryign to steal sweet rolls. "Here you go Ama," she tore offa small piece of sweet roll and gave it to her. She did deserve at least a piece afterall. "It was a Bronze from Ista is what I have heard... Not to bring offense to you..." She didn't know everything after all nor, at this point, did she have teh desire to know every detail... "I certainly hope so..." She looked at Izanycorth somewhat dubiously. "We haven't ahd many lessons with Inali and Loraketh yet... what with everything that has been going on... So I don't know if that would help or not... but I'm hoping it will whenver we get to start them.
Ama, who normally was rather portective and would have been in his face, seemed to accept Vl'kan... because he had food that he was sharing with Hers and that Hers was now in turn sharign with her. That made him okay... At least for now.
"For a gold... sometimes a real friend can be a little difficult to find... Or so I have found." Iirla shook her head slightly. "Thank you.. she definitely is..."
Thank you Thormyth's. Not everyone seems to think so. The young gold spoke directly to the Garnet rider. He seemed to recognize her as a gold at least and treat her as one.
Iirla blinked and gently reached out to Vl'kan touching his shoulder very lightly. "There isn't any need for you to be worried about this. We're just talking... besides! Respect and rank shouldn't mean you can't make friends with someone. Or at least I hope not because, otherwise, I'm likely breaking a lot of rules," she laughed again, smiling. She dind't think there was any reason to worry. EH was being more respectful and formal than a lot of other males had been.... including those who had Impressed in the same clutch as her gold.

Thormyth rumbled in delight at the young golds words. Ah, so she would be allowing him to dispatch some unworthy foes? Hmm… His wings rustled briefly. It wasn’t as if he needed her permission to strike down anyone but…perhaps the aide, if that’s what you could call it, could provide useful in time. The males head tilted in the direction of the flitter and he eyed the little beast carefully. At least Yours’ pet has a useful purpose. Thor snorted and sniffed at the crook of His arm, where the red huntyre chick was nestled. Mine has obtained something called a Huntyre. Useless thing for it is red and fuzzy and I see it being unable to hunt anything.
Starfire cheeped, peering over the crook of Vl’kans arm down at her beloved BigRed and was delighted to see him looking at her. Oh she was overjoyed! The fuzzy chick chattered down to her friend and wiggled in Vl’kans arm, desperate to escape the TallOne’s grasp. Couldn’t he see that she loved the BigRed!? Surely every time Thormyth attempted to eat her was just his odd sign of affection….right?
Vl’kan shifted the young chick to his other arm, much to her dismay, but was able to silence her protests with a piece of the remaining rolls. Yes, my sisters can be somewhat..overbearing. They take some, if not a lot, of getting used to. Vl’kan started slightly as Izanycorth spoke directly to him. Clearly his previous comment was approved and the young Rider smiled lightly at the words. “Then they do not know beauty when they see it.” Nodding his head politely at the young gold, Vl’kan had begun to chew on another hunk of roll and was beginning to contemplate whether or not to give in and refill his plate when her hand suddenly came to rest on his shoulder.
The act was sudden and unforeseen and as a result he choked somewhat on the half eaten roll in his mouth. “I-I know, it’s just…” The young Lord paused for a moment, nervously running a hand through his hair as he tried to figure out how to explain this. “As much as I despise my father, the mannerisms he ingrained into me are a little hard to forget…” She laughed again and for a brief moment his eyes lit up at the very sound. She was right, of course, but old habits were hard to break. One day he would learn, if he was lucky, then maybe he wouldn’t appear to be so socially awkward.

Izanycorth looked at the chick. If yours teaches it to hunt, it is said that they are very good at hunting and easily trained... Or so I have heard. She lifted her wings and shoulders in what could only be described as a draconic shrug. She stood and paced around the small group once and then sat, wrapping her tail around her paws again. Staying in one place was starting to get boring.
Izanycorth crooned appreciatively, making Iirla smile and laugh again. "She definitely likes you now, Vl'kan." Iz gave a soft humph. Hers should not be telling people such things. But it was true.
"She is very cute. And very attached to Thormyth..." Though Thormyth didn't seem to be equally attached to her. "She is certainly different from most huntyres I have seen." She gently reached up and scratched Ama's eyeridges as the flit, for once quiet, laid across her shoulders. "She certainly is cute..."
Iirla smiled gently. "I am sorry for that, Vl'kan..." She gently squeezed his shoulder, her slender fingers were just a light touch. "Those things are always hard to forget..." She smiled and looked at Thor and Iz. "For a rough start.... they get along alright, wouldn't you say?" She looked at the two before taking a bite of the sweet roll she had in her hand... And that was when a voice she rather not have heard at that point in time.
"Well what have we here... Looks to me like a Queen rider flirting with an Istan Weyrling... a handsome one at that." She walked over and sized them up... and not far behind was Sularth as well as Rammos and Viia, her two felines.
"Hello Aantara. Are you enjoying the Gather?" Iirla asked civilly, eyeing the older woman sceptically... Then watching as Sularth walked over towards Thormyth and Izanycorth.

Starfire perked up, ruffling her baby fluff as best as she could, which only succeeded in making her look like a perfectly round ball of fuzz with eyes. Oh but the little chick did not mind, she had been called beautiful and too right! Wiggling her little wings, the young huntyre chirped and peered up at Iirla. Oh she liked this TallOne most definitely, maybe just as much as the TallOne currently keeping a hold on her. She peeked her head over Vl’kans arm one last time to peer down at her beloved BigRed and chittered and trilled to him, almost as if she were informing him of the big news. After all, it wasn’t very often one of the tall beings complimented her, although a shiny offering would be the icing on the cake.
Vl’kan grinned down at his little Starfire as she began tweeting and wiggling her wings, clearly pleased with the compliment. “Thanks. We don’t have creatures like these up in Ista so, naturally, Thormyth and I were both curious to look into them and just happened to stumble across a weyrling willing to part with a few eggs. I don’t think Thor is too pleased with the decision now though.” It pesters me to no end. The garnet huffed, even daring to growl lowly at the creature in question. The man shook his head and sighed softly. What was he going to do with those two?
Then she was lightly squeezing his shoulder in what must have been a reassuring gesture and he smiled lightly at the small act of kindness. A brief nod and his gaze also turned to the two dragonets and he eyed them curiously. “Yeah, almost too well if you ask me…” What are you plotting? Thormyth tilted his head and fixed his crimson streaked gaze on His, keeping silent for the moment though giving off feelings and flickers of images that caused the Istan man a twinge of unease. He was about to inquire as to whether her bonded had informed her of the twos conversation when another voice broke through the bustle of the Gather crowd and seemed to be directed at them.
The young Lord straightened and glanced around till he laid eyes on the newcomer. Just like that, whatever small barriers that had been broken down in the previous two way conversation with Iirla shot straight back up with the arrival of this new woman. He was stiff and seemingly awkward on how to react around the newcomer. Thormyth snorted at the pair’s arrival and spoke to His. Don’t falter now, Vl’kanMine. That is only Aantara, the chosen of green Sularth. You are a Lord, Mine. Do not lose yourself under the gaze of these females.
The slightly nervous seeming man offered a simple, yet polite, incline of his head in greeting to the girl. It was like he was right back at stage one all over again. “G’day, miss..” Vl’kan spoke lightly in greeting as he looked between the two women currently standing at opposite sides of him. Clearly they must have known each other. Why else would one simply walk in on the twos previously easy going conversation? And…was he feeling a little bit of tension between the two women? Shifting his weight from one foot to the other, he dragged his boot lightly across the ground, as if only just realizing how long they’ve been standing in one place from the light ache he was beginning to feel in the bottom of his feet.
There seemed to be an awkward moment of silence between the three before he cleared his throat and held out the hand that held the remaining sweet roll, much too little Starfires protest. Vl’kan shrugged, ignoring the huntyres cries for now. After all, it only felt right that he should offer Aantara to share in the desert. “I’m Vl’kan and this is Thormyth.” When in doubt, introductions were always an easy place to start.
The so mentioned Garnet, tossed his head back as he was mentioned. His claws sifted the ground below as he turned to face the newcomer and Hers, quickly noticing the two beasts who were slinking along in the background as well.
