I really must acquire several bottles of Benden before the Gather disperses, and I feel the Harper’s calling me to dance. It has been too long; and Thread is far too close. Many of those we meet here will not live to see this Pass end She leaned back comfortably onto the palms of her hands; short legs kicking out a two-beat melody in the air—ever careful not to jar the counter upon which she sat. Naira’s eyes raked the Gatherfolk with and avid curiosity. A new Gather, a new Weyr, and new interractions to be had—not to mention testing the feet of those who might join her for dancing. Or drinking. Her thoughts strayed again to the Benden, but Seth flooded her mind with more mirth than usual.
He is nearly as beautiful as you, Naira
Who, love? She was curious; though only because it was quite rare indeed for the White to remark on anything of beauty that was living—he didn’t even find beauty in the Golds that so many chased, but the image that he sent to her did cause her head to turn. My, my—He is quite the shining example of masculinity isn’t he, and we match rather well—unexpected. I didn’t know anyone else fancied black leathers She didn’t bother concealing her obvious interest in the man; what reason did she have for shyness: In a matter of Turns she’d probably be up to her elbows in his dragon’s ichor. Not that she wanted an outcome such as that, but it was the life of Dragonmen. No reason to be anything less than yourself when lives would be snuffed out faster than a hop between.
He is S'val of Solarith; Wingleader. The others are little Weyrlings; even the Greenrider. I'm sure we could be doing better things than sitting here.
You’ll not ruin my fun this time with your dour mood—how do you manage to keep your hide so White when your heart is so black? Why don’t you enjoy the sun on the fireheights? I’m sure you could find a dragon with which to speak Perhaps if I were a female things would be easierSeth’s parting thoughts were a disappointing sigh that caused Naira to laugh softly into one small hand—earning a chiding warble from Jax for jostling him. For his part, the White at least had the decency to acknowledge the Bronzerider had spoken to him. You resemble a tunnelsnake tracking a wherry with its eyes; not very attractive, love Which earned her as much of a cold look as the White could muster—and then she was summarily ignored for more interesting things: Such as the small children who were playing with Cogo by the Sweetstent. ”S’val; Seth has told me that Cot was well flown by your Reign,” she spoke softly as her own greeting. Not that it was hard to tell with the sweet eyes the Green was giving the Brown—nor the absolute disinterest Jax was attempting (and failing) to maintain: Hopefully she wouldn’t have to chase the territorial Bronze off. Ara rolled her eyes at J'dol's comment. Turning back to R'xth the greenrider nodded her head. "Yeah she's going to be a Gold. Don't worry though, you'll be fine. I doubt she'll be as troublesome as Aries is." Grabbing her own Queen up, Ara ignored the complaintive hiss that erupted from her throat. "NO!" Growling the command at the flit, Ara narrowed her eyes. The response was Aries snorting and popping into between. "Tempermental female!" The girl shouted after her pet as the blast of cold air disappated. "Sorry about that you all. Hello Seth, Naira by the way. Come to give out Dot and Cot's eggs too?"
Looking at the two green, Ara smiled happily. "How are you today S'val?" The rider smiled up from her seat at the bronzerider. She hadn't met him really before, but from what she had gathered he was a good wingleader. "How are you and your bronze fairing today? Enjoying the gather?" Glancing over at Avirith who was crooning a hello to Seth, the rider looked up to try and spot Solarith anywhere. Surely the bronze wouldn't be far from His? Well....perhaps she was just thinking too much of her own dragoness. "Fancy one?" The rider leaned forward over the pots of firelizard eggs, decidedly ignoring J'dol for the time being for the other rider. The other SENIOR rider. One who wasn't a weyrling and totally off limance.
Well hello there gorgeous. I don't see you anywhere but I see Yours! Are you playing a hiding game?" Being the flirt she was, Avirith left the stand with only a curt nod and hello to Seth. Instead she became airborn and twirled in the air as she looked around for the bronze that belonged to the rider at Hers' stall.

Shenzi couldn't hide the giant smile that plastered her face as she walked through the crowd of people. She had passed many booths, even one that was run by a young weyrling, it was something about kissing. She didn't pay it much attention, she was too distracted by the talk about a clutch of firelizard eggs. It wasn't that she really wanted one, she just wanted to take a look at the eggs. Sure she had seen many before, but each time they were different. Shenzi smiled, nodded, and even said a few hello's to those that had recongnized her. She sighed, but she could tell she was getting closer to the clutch of eggs by the crowd of people gathered around a single booth. She could vaguely make out the form of a white dragon, but tha isn't what caught her eyes. She thought she saw a green dragon she recognized take to the air. She smiled, picked up the hem of her dress, and started running towards the booth. Sure enough, it was one of the few people that she actually knew that lived at Trelis. Well hello there Ara! Long time no see! She had to yell pretty loud in order to get her voice heard above the noise of the crowd. She smiled and waved, hoping that the young dragon rider would see her. She slowly made her way through the crowd, towards the booth. How are you and Avirith? She was a little winded by the time that she reached Ara, but she managed not to sound too tired. She glanced over at the eggs, and her eyes immidiately went to the The Wicked Step Mother Egg. There was something about the way the shell of the egg seemed to just pop out at her. She couldn't take her eyes off of it. She shook her head, and forced her eyes away from the egg. She turned her attention back to Ara, hoping that she wouldn't notice how embarased she was at her actions.

Well she and the eggs were getting popular today weren't they? Smiling as a harper came up, Ara widened her eyes in recognization. It wasn't just any harper, but the masterharper. "Hello Shenzi!" The rider went around the booth to give the harper a hug if she'd allow it. She had met the older woman in some of Kierah's lessons from time to time. The Weyr's harper loved to give out lessons for dancing and singing, something Ara secretly loved to do. She hadn't seen Kierah's friend though for a while so it was nice to be getting this opportunity. "We're both good. Just hanging around the Weyr as usual. Enjoying the gather? I had a feeling you'd come. Kierah's in the dancing tent by the way near the dining tent." The rider pointed in the direction of the Gold and Garnet tent. Looking back at Shenzi though the rider smiled as she caught onto the way she looked at one of Aries' eggs. "They were laid by my Gold not long ago. They should be hatching soon too. They're free you know. You can just take it if you'd like." Picking up the pot with the dark blue, purple and black egg, she held it up for Shenzi. "Here." Smiling the rider hoped she'd take it as she thought she wanted to. ---- Saka was loving the gather. She had come to every one with her family, but this was the first time she was here because of being a candidate. She still couldn't believe it to be honest. Smiling from ear to ear, the girl pushed back an unruly strand of hair. The headwoman had worked hard to get the mass of red curls together in somewhat of a worked fasion. Currently they were up in a complex bun but strands hung in her face. Oh well, she did like that the woman had left a few feather hanging with beads. Most had been taken out though, something she'd have to remedy once she was done with the event. Her clothes were as strange as ever though. She'd pulled on burnt orange tights of sort, along with a strapless dress with trailing sleeves. Of course the dress was mixes of blues, green and purples though. So in otherwords she was working with different colors and fabrics again. That was the way she liked it, a bit crazy and different. Sakalas hated to stay blending into the crowd. Takorah chirped from her shoulder, the lunar huntyre cocking his head as he looked over at a particular booth. "What is it boy?" The huntyre turned toward His, eyes swirling their usual golden, red mix. Sending a picture of what his more in focused eyes saw, Saka smiled. Firelizard eggs! Heading over the girl looked over at the different eggs that one rider was giving out, however she was currently busy. Instead the girl went over to the whiterider She looked cool too! The black and white mix was beautiful. Eyeing The Tardis egg, the girl smiled. "Can I have that one?" It seemed just as crazy and surprising as herself, something she instantly liked. (Ooc: Crovin I love you for naming them after Doctor Who stuff lol. Yes, by the way I based the last sentance off of what the Tardis as a human acted like xD all insane and random and brilliant! )

It surprised R'hard not at all that Kaith chose to stay behind the day of the gather. The brown would probably spend all day napping in his weyr, but that was okay. R'hard didn't mind attending the gather by himself, and besides, he'd already run across a couple friends of his, so it wasn't exactly like he was alone. He just finished enjoying a fresh bubbly pie from the baker's stall and was licking the last of the juice off his fingers when he noticed the Weyrlingmaster's green dragon. Where the dragon was, the rider was sure to be nearby, and soon enough, he found Alyara behind a stall. Better yet, there were fire lizard eggs!
He'd seen the clutch when it was first hatched, of course, and he had made a note to try to get one for himself, but he hadn't known when they were being given out. It seemed now was his chance. "Are you passing them out now?" R'hard asked excitedly. He had his eye on one of gold Aries' eggs, though a couple of green flitters' eggs were available as well. The card in front of the egg's pot said A King's Devotion.
----------------------
Hirion was wandering around the gather with Ferrth, though recently they had decided to take a break so the blue weyrling could rest his legs a bit. It was then that she heard about the fire lizard clutches from an overheard snippet of conversation. She turned to Ferrth with a grin. "What do you think, Ferrth? Check it out?"
The blue yawned a bit but readily climbed to his feet. Sure, let's check it out, he said. He hadn't met many fire lizards besides Banshee, and he was a bit curious to see the clutch himself.
With a whistle, Hirion climbed to her feet as Banshee appeared, and the green fire lizard settled onto her usual perch on Hirion's shoulder. It didn't take them long to find the stall, and Hirion waved to the Weyrlingmaster. "I'd like one too!" she said.
She didn't particularly care which color she ended up with, so she regarded the gold's eggs and the greens' equally as she made her decision. "How 'bout that one?" she said finally, pointing at the Ood Egg.

See Mine? Did I not say that were you to look nice that you would receive approving looks from your fellow Riders. If dragons could be smug at this moment Solarith would be their poster child. Unknown to his Rider, the bronze had glided down from the Heights and was currently soaring lazily over head after pinpointing S’vals location in the Gather crowd. The corner of his mouth twitched in a mild, almost embarrassed, smirk at his companions words but he kept his dark gaze focused solely on his fellow Riders and the small chat they were having. He was distracted from making a witty remark to the bronze as Reign slapped him in the back of the head with his excitedly whipping tail.
Eyeing the eggs once more as Ara removed her protective queen, S’val scratched the excited flit once again in an attempt to calm him, but the goo-goo eyes Cot was giving him made that almost impossible. “Yes I’m well aware of how you performed you overgrown hatchling.” Laughing as Reign puffed his little chest out, attempting to make himself look bigger and draw all eyes towards him as though he had sired the majority of the eggs and not the random few. “Lets just hope his offspring haven’t inherited any of his troublemaking tendencies. The kitchens will never be safe again.” Grinning at the darkly clad White Rider, who he only just took notice of how similar their apparel seemed. There were differences of course though, he was flecked and trimmed with a bronze mimicking his life mate while she seemed intent to keep hers a wonderfully, soulless onyx black. Oh it caught his eye of course.
Turning back to Ara as she leaned closer to him, S’val flashed her another winning smile. “We’re as well as can be and how about you and Avirith? Your Weyrlings giving you a hard time at all?” As he spoke he gestured to the shirtless lad beside him and shifted somewhat closer to the stall, and both women, as he received a nudge to step out of the way from some onlookers coming to fawn over the eggs. A mischievous glint danced in his eyes as she mentioned him fancying one, quite easily finding a hidden double meaning in the phrase. Giving the eggs another once over S’val picked up the Pandorica egg. Reign chirped his approval at His’ decision, though he was still trying to persuade him to obtain at least one more.
Hiding games are for Hatchlings, I’m simply far too big to walk beside Mine. The dark bronze had landed in an open stretch of grass about fifty yards from where the egg stall had been set up and, ultimately, where His was currently mingling. Tilting his scared maw skyward, Solarith scanned the heavens before managing to pick out her twirling green frame against the light blue of the midday sky.

Shenzi smiled and hugged the other woman back. That's good, I always enjoy a good gather. She smiled, and giggled as she said the last part. She was a Harper who specialized in singing, dancing, and playing the flute, so why wouldn't she? She kind of figured that the resident Harper would be off dancing somewhere, and wasn't really surprised when Ara told her where she was. Hopefully she's having fun. She giggled as she spoke. From what Shenzi knew of the woman, she was always having fun when she was dancing.
Shenzi nodded her head as she listened to what Ara told her about the eggs. Well congratulations! She looked around for the gold flit, but when she couldn't find her, she shrugged her shoulders, figuring that the queen flit had gotten upset at the fact that her eggs were being given away, and flew off. Are you sure Ara? She was a little flabbergasted when the other woman handed her the egg that she had been ogling. I promise to give whatever this egg holds a good home with me. Shenzi crossed her heart with a finger, showing the other woman that she was serious.
Shenzi wasn't sure what would hatch from the egg, but whatever it was, she was sure she would give it everything it needed, and would most likely spoil the thing. She wrapped the egg and it's put in one sleeve of her dress, and held it tightly to her breast.Though, she wasn't holding it so tight that it would break, just tight enough to keep it where it was, and keep it safe from any harm. Anyways, how is that green of yours? I don't think I've seen her around here. She tilted her head to the side a little, her hair falling over her shoulder, effectively hiding the egg in her arm, as she waited for the other woman's reply.

Looking over as more of her weyrlings came by, Ara couldn't help but smile. Their dragons were frowing so nicely and a bit of pride fluttered in her chest. She nodded her head to whatever was being said by Shenzi and S'val, trying to keep the conversations straight. When the bronze rider mentioned if she was having trouble or not, the rider glanced at J'dol and laughed. "Nothing I can't handle. Or Avirith for that matter." A sly glance upward at her twirling green brought a grin to her face. He misbehaves for you and causes you gried then yes I will intervene. Though I still think some flirting is good for you.
At the bronze's comment Avirith nodded her head and dove down to him. True enough that you are not a hatchling. That doesn't mean one can't have fun though. Flicking a wing out the green crooned mischeviously. Ara shook her head and focused again on her "customers". "Of course take whichever you like...I think there may even be extras the poor things." Petting one near her she pointed then over to where Avirith's green form was curled nearby Solarith's dark bronze one. "She's over there flirting as usual Shenzi."

Ha! She thought she could handle him? She only wished she could! However, to Jaks, he was thinking of the more perverted meaning than Ara had likely been thinking. Regardless, he had winked at her when she glanced back at him. He refrained from voicing his thoughts, though only because, as he had meant before, he didn’t want to get her into trouble because he was flirting with her. He eyed the other people who had gathered around the eggs, wishing they would leave so he could go back to taunting the poor woman. Well, at the rate it was going, he would likely have to wait until the dances and feast had begun if he wanted to continue the game. Miiine, I’m getting bored sitting here! We should go find something else to do. He chuckled to himself as he listened to the annoyed tone in her mind voice. He could tell without even asking that she was feeling outdone by Avirith, since she was easily getting more attention than she was. She greeted the other dragons who were at or near the stand, but she really was fond of the idea of going off and doing something more fun.
Well, he wouldn’t keep his lady waiting much longer. Reaching down now that Aries wasn’t in the way, he picked up the egg he had been looking at, more gently than one might have expected from him. He lifted the I Just Can’t Wait to be King egg up for a better look. A sudden small blast of cold air above him heralded the arrival of Bit, who landed on his shoulder, chattering about her adventures before turning her attention to the egg her human held. Well, was he replacing her! Or maybe that was going to be a new friend! She cheeped happily at his decision.
“Well, Teach, it appears Bit likes this one.” He grinned, “Mind if I take it off your lovely hands?” If she said no, he would simply leave it behind and go back to his stall. Faranth knew he had been on break long enough, so he needed to get back soon anyways.
Soheath lounged lazily in the grass not far from the busy gather; his brown wings lazily drooped by his side as he fell in and out of sleep. His waking moments were spent watching the various dragons and dragonesses putting on their playful show for the gather-goers. He listened in as well to the chatter on the heights, commenting when he felt it necessary, but generally staying as only a silent listener to the stories that drifted about. One comment, in particular, caught his interest. Ad’osMine, I have heard tell that Avirith’s and Seth’s are giving away the little ones’ eggs at a stall. Have you any interest?
Ad’os himself was strolling leisurely through the various stalls, finishing off the last bite of a bubbly pie as he looked at the various wares for sale. Finding something that caught his eye, Ad’os handed over the required marks and thanked the weaver, letting the man know he would be by to pick up his new bed sheets once he had finished perusing the remaining stalls, Faranth knew he needed to finally begin fixing up his own weyr with personal belongings. Are you wanting another flit around Soh? Ad’os asked as Trouble, who had been relaxing on his shoulder after playing with the other flits all morning, rubbed her head against his cheek. He subconsciously wiped the cheek once she had finished showing love; though weyrlinghood had helped lesson his obsession with cleanliness, it was still hard to break old habits. The brown dragon was slow in his response, mulling over the idea in his head. I do not object, He said finally, his voice as monotonous as always, Trouble amuses me with her antics, however a friend would stop her from seeking amusement from me. Scratching the little green’s head, Addy made his way over to the booth, grinning wildly as he saw Ara and a number of other individuals; some he knew, some he didn’t.
“Hello folks, hi Ara,” Ad’os greeted everyone there politely before glancing down at the pots. “I heard you had some eggs looking for homes.” He glanced over the eggs, looking for one that caught his eye, but it was an image from Trouble that lead him to one egg in particular. He held up the Kiss the Girl egg and looked it over. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to deal with another green – the size of the egg led him to believe it would be one of the little females – but a green would almost guarantee that Trouble had someone that would be energetic enough to keep her amused and out of… well... trouble, or at least that’s what the brownrider hoped.

Iirla looked at booths as she passed them, disinterested for the most part. She really didn't have interest or need of any particular things right now. Not at all. She would jsut keep going until she had found something of interest. Which... It didn't take too long to come across it. A booth where there were flitter eggs! This could be her chance to finally get a flitter of her own! She didn't rush right up though, no, instead she watched those coming and going for a moment and then walked over to the booth. "Excuse me?" she said, her voice gentle, as always, but not exactly quiet. She didn't wish to interrupt anything that was going on. She looked at each of those their in turn before her eyes went back to Ara and she gave the little Gold with her a slight bow of respect. She was the mother of the clutch and even a flitter mother deserved the respect of being acknowledged. Besides that, she was a magnificent little creature. "Would it be possible for me to have this egg?" she asked, pointing to the Beauty and the Beast egg. It was beautiful. It had immediately caught her eye out of all the others that were sitting there. What a mesmerizing shell. The purples were beautiful. Something told her that whatever was in this egg was something special. Something very special indeed. She was rather sure that it would be okay, but she still felt that it was only polite to ask. She looked back up at Ara for the moment, waiting for her response, though she was truly hoping that it would be a yes. If she had to pay for the egg, she just hoped she had enough to buy it. She really wanted an egg... But, of all the eggs, this was the one that she was really interested in above all the other eggs. However.... She would have loved to get another one... Or so... --------------------- Oh well, there were some people he could spend a little time talking to. And, of course, Ara with her little gold's clutch. He walked over, smiling. His big ol' Brown was over sunning himself. He walked up calmly to the others. "Hey Alyara, S'val, A'dos," he said, walking up to them with his goofy grin. He scratched hte back of his head for a moment. After a minute or two, he felt a cold blast of air just above him and looked up to see his little Green Flitter Lori who then, promptly, landed on his head of all places. "Loooorriiiii..." he said, sighing in exasperation. He did his best and grabbed for the flitter who bit his finger. He bit his tongue to keep from exclaiming and sighed, shaking his head, though it didn't quite dislodge the little green at first, but she soon conceded to sitting on his shoulder. "Still trying to decide if I'm crazy for even considering getting another one..."

More and more people came around, and Ara had to ignore J'dol for the time being. "They're all free so none of you have to pay. I'd keep my eye on them though....they seem like they're going to hatch soon." Handing the different eggs to their new owners she tallied them up. There were a few left without homes still.....sudddenly looking up Ara straigtened in her seat. "Hello Weyrwoman Inali."
Inali smiled at her friend and shook her head. "Really Ara, are we truly going to that?" Her voice was light with playfulness. Smiling back Ara laughed. "All right Lili, if you insist." The two girls, who were roommates in their candidacy and friends for a long time just laughed for a moment or two. "Hello everyone." Inali turned to each rider, candidate, harper, and weyrling present in turn. "I hope you are all enjoying today's festivities." The goldrider pulled the more authoritative side of her voice out now. She still had to play her part as hostess after all.
Looking over at some of the eggs at Naira's stall, Inali went over. She probably shouldn't with Pepper already in her life, but she wanted to so very badly. "Can I have this one?" The Weyrwoman looked up at the whiterider, pointing down at The Silence Egg.
