~Bryden~ It seemed as though the Point of No Return was trying to decide if it should trust this candidate or not. It searched his mind trying to find something that would tell it if this was the one for It. After a few more minutes of searching it seemed to shake it's head. No this wasn't the one either.

Alessandra walked quietly and nervously to the sands. She knew the Queen had clutched and it was time to meet the newest additions to the weyr. This was what Kayath and J'dol had chosen her for. Her hair hung in a loose braid halfway down her back below her shoulderblades and her skin was pale. She was so nervous!
Stopping to collect herself, she blinked at the sight that greeted her. Not only one clutch sat on the sands but two. The little golden flit had clutched in the sands. She looked every bit as protective and regal as Loraketh did guarding her eggs. She was here as a candidate though. Wether she would be chosen or not, well that was up to the younglings. All she could do was try.
She curtsied deep and low to Loraketh.
"Thank you , Queen Loraketh, for allowing me the honor and opportunity to meet your children."
After waiting what seemed like the appropriate time, she stepped lightly over to the first egg, Wayward friend. The egg was small, but lovely. A dark shell with a cyan-esque blue hue creating a design on the shell. She passed her hand over it, doing as the candidate masters had instructed her to do, leaving her soul and mind open to the search of the dragonet within.
"D'rian please!"
Keegan's plaintive voice was soft as the bronzerider all but dragged him to a seat halfway up the stands. The boy was quite distressed and angry at his friend, but also torn. His sister was down there on the sands right now. In front of a queen dragon. Touching the overprotective dragon's offspring. His protective streak urged him to save his sister, but fear held him rooted.
The dragoness watched the candidates as they moved amongst her eggs and he felt a bead of sweat roll down his temple as his friend lowered him into the chair. "There's no way I'm letting you get out of this. She needs you to support her decision and that is that."
His frown was one of distaste and his legs ached. well on their way to mending, they were still a bit too weak to last him more than a few hundred yards away from the runner corrals. That was why D'rian was here. His friend wouldnt let him miss this, even though the mere sight of the golden dragon made him want to bolt from his seat bum legs or not.
"Fine. but only for andra."

.:Bryden:.
~The Warrior Egg~ So yet another challenger had come to it? The egg took a moment to look at the mind and paused. This one had spirit, perhaps that was diligence it saw too....but it wasn't what it was hoping for. The egg pushed away at the candidate, getting mad again.
.:Allesandra:.
~The Wayward Friend Egg~ Oh no! It had to deal with someone else now?!? Being polite, the egg took a look at the candidate. There were things similar with this one to itself, but something was missing it thought. The egg could t pinpoint just what it wanted though. As quickly as it had said hello, it skunk back into itself afraid to put itself forward any longer.

Zion stood off to the side for a moment before moving back to THE DREAMER EGG. He hadn't really spent that much time with it, and he felt kind of drawn to it. Kneeling down beside it he silently apologized for leaving it so quickly as he placed his hand on its shell again.
This time he stayed by the egg for some time, trying to get closer to it and figure it out. It was very hopeful, that much he could tell... but he wanted to get deeper, in apology for leaving so quickly the first time.
After being there for quite a long while, he finally moved on to the POINT OF NO RETURN EGG. This egg had been pushed away. Zion wondered why as he ran his hands over it's red shell. It seemed to have two personalities... kind of. It was more like one personality that kept changing its mind or something.
Zion could detect a steady stream of intelligence, however, and also the desire for more knowledge. He liked that. He was curious himself and always wanted to know more! He stayed with this egg for a long time, too.
Next he moved on to the WAYWARD FRIEND EGG. This egg also changed its mind rather quickly. Zion wasn't sure what exactly it was feeling from one second to the next. His hands were on the egg's shell, and one second it was very loving, but then it disappeared! This was very frustrating, so Zion moved on.
Next, he went to the WARRIOR EGG. This egg was the largest egg he had touched, he thought. He was rather intimidated, actually. The deep purple shell radiated a fierceness and protectiveness when he touched it. Zion could also detect anger, but it wasn't at him... the egg (or rather, the dragonet inside) was mad at itself! Zion felt a bit sorry for it. Why would it be mad at itself? Zion was sure it was a beautiful dragonet, and had no reason to be mad at itself. He tried to convey this to the egg before moving on after a longer amount of time.
He went last to the UNTHINKABLE HAPPENSTANCE EGG, since it was on the outskirts of the clutch. Zion laid his hands on the shell and was shocked by the rolling emotions. It went from love to hatred, shy to cruel in less time than it took for him to take a breath. Split personality much?! Zion gasped, and took his hands away before placing them back and trying to figure out why this egg was so... split.

Bryden frowned; he couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that none of the eggs he'd approached so far had garnered much of a reaction. Ah well, there were plenty more left, and who knew if any of the hatchlings might yet change their minds. He turned his attention to the next closest egg.
He stroked the shell of the Witchdoctor egg, wondering what lay inside, and then the brown and gold-marked shell of the Dreamer egg caught his eye and he went to that one next.
Unsurprisingly, the large egg between the clutchmother's claws also caught his eye, and he approached Loraketh and the Reckless egg warily. "Would you allow me the honor of touching your egg, Queen?" he asked, figuring it would not hurt to be as respectful as possible.

~Zion~ Dreamer Egg The Dreamer Egg seemed to shiver happily as this candidate came back to it. Oh Happy Day!!! It eagerly jumped into the young man's mind and searched for that thing that would tell it if this was It's. Maybe, just maybe, this might be the one. But something told the dragonet inside the egg that it wasn't to be. Something just felt...wrong. Point of No Return The Point of No Return egg gently entered the young man's mind, looking to see if this was the one or not. The young man wanted more knowledge, that impressed the dragonet inside, but it seemed as though it still wasn't sure. So after a little more searching, it finally withdrew itself from the candidate touching it's shell. This wasn't the one for it either. ~Bryden~ Dreamer Egg The Dreamer Egg shivered happily when it's shell was touched once again. A silent thought seemed to run through the creature inside, "Maybe this is the one!" it surly was hopeful. It lovingly entered the candidates mind and searched. It wasn't sure of what it had found, but it sent a hopeful feeling to the young man as he started to walk away.

~ZION~ ~The Wayward Friend Egg~ Did it have to deal with another person? Did it really? Wasn't it just going to get hurt again? A soft touch pressed against Zion's mind before feeling the first inklings of regret and backing off. This one just wasn't what it needed somehow...maybe on hatching day it would find out for sure, but no. It was pretty sure it wouldn't be him. The boy just wasn't patient enough. ~The Warrior Egg~ Come on, let's see if you're right! The egg pushed its way into Zion's mind, searching for the tale-tell signs it had begun to realize were traits it liked. Hmmmr...perhaps this one. He was defiant which made the egg happy, but something was still..off. He was special most certainly though, but not the right special. Sending him on his way, the dragonet inside mumbled to itself mentally, an angered torment of words. It just couldn't do anything right could it? Not even find Its! ~The Unthinkable Happenstance Egg~ Oh! Well isn't this a nice young boy for it to play with?!? The darker side of the egg crept toward him approvingly, pushing none to gently into his mind. Yes, yes.....but he was defiant as its sibling had stated. Perhaps not.....no, no don't please dont! The sweeter side piped up as it fought with itself, eventually dieing away as it gave into the evil again. ~BRYDEN~ ~The Reckless Egg~ There we go, more peasants to show it attention and admoration! The egg thrummed with pride as the hands were placed on it, momentarily too lost in its own self-satisfaction. This was a good boy, perhaps not its boy, but a good one....it wasn't quite sure which. Perhaps if it stayed longer? Then again, staying longer might mean learning its secret....off you go then, more eggs to see!

Daria sashayed to the Sands. A lot of girls were there and it please Daria. The first egg she went to was The Wayward Friend Egg. She placed her hand on the egg and waited for its response. The girl didn't really care about making friends, but she did love startling the other females. Daria did care about her life though. She wasn't going to risk angering the Gold by walking up to a random female and just kiss her. No Daria wasn't going to go that far. That would probably earn her a one way pass to Loraketh's stomach. Being new to the Weyr, Daria wasn't one for friends and spurned all contact. She even spurned the males that approached her.
Her response each time was, "Males disgust me. I might have the occasional male friend, but I don't see men as romantic for me." Daria was at least honest. She didn't want to make a male think she was interested in them. She would give them the one warning and if they persisted she would do some damage. Not something she would normally do, but Daria didn't like it when people assumed. Focusing back on the egg she waited.

~DARIA~ ~The Wayward Friend Egg~ This one was odd to see, she seemed scattered in her thought and the egg could hardly know where to begin. There was promise though, but suddenly the egg turned away. No, it didn't have its trust! It didn't have its love....perhaps the candidate should try someone else. Curling up into a tight ball inside of its egg, the Wayward Friend cried piteously not understanding why Its was not here yet.

Bryden WitchdoctorOoooooh someone was touching it again! Why did they have to touch it? Was it's egg weird? Mishapen? What was it that was drawing so many smudgy fingers to it?!?! The hatchling was restless, it's mind immediately shooting out to examin the candidate. It was almost as if the hatchling was trying to get things over with as quickly as possible. it seemed to be the right thing to do with this fellow, at least. There were things the hatchling liked, and things it didn't like. Oh but that ambition!!!! The hatchling quickly drew away, too nervous to continue.

Andra saw her brother's worried face peeking over the edge of the stands. Bless him, he was so afraid of dragons. They were a thing of power and beauty to her. Carnivores yes, but that was not their fault. it was their physiology.
She shrugged off the feeling of sadness her brother's worry brought on, and continued among the eggs. Unthinkable happenstance was the closest, and again, she kept herself open for the dragonet's exploration. She waited for a few minutes at that one, the feelings intrigueing her, before she turned to the next. Dualities and Innocent She touched softly. The markings on duality brought a kind of peaceful feeling to her as she studied it, and Innocent was the palest of pretty pinks. It made her think of the berry sweets she had first learned to make with her mother as a child. A soft smile, a tender memory, then she moved on.
Poisoned apple's color's were vivid and mottled at the same time. Her hand reached out, then hesitated, before she pressed her fingers to it, smoothing over the smooth shell. This was getting easier...

Allesandra DualitiesAnother had come to test herself againt the will of this egg, eh? The emotion was skeptical at best, likely destroying any peaceful feelings Andra had initially had. The way the dragonet pushed into her mind was... not quite rough, but not exactly gentle either. It wanted someone strong, someone who could handle it, support it, match it. Well well... this girl was submissive was she? The creature inside the egg forced its will out, curious to see if Allessandra would buckle under the sheer force. If she didn't, maybe the egg would reconsider, but it was doubtful at best.
