Do you really think this is a good idea with those....pests, paying such close attention Mine?
Iliath hissed as she flicked her tail irritably. The green had been acting more and more dramatic and angry lately, and Panille doubted it had entirely to do with the Southern riders. Either way, right now there were bigger matters to attend to. Yeah like making sure Weyrlings don't start raining down on Trelis...that'd be funny though. The dragoness gave a draconic smirk as she flared her wings, flapping them a few times and making her rider's hair whip around.
"That wouldn't be funny...okay, not too funny. No, they need to learn." She grimaced, still not liking her job despite the necessity. "Call them will you?" The green chortled, raising her head and reaching out for the dragonets' minds. Oh younglings, we got a surprise for you. Be a bunch of dears and bring those riding straps to your lesson. Iliath flicked her tail around her front feet, grinning like a fool. "What?" Oops, I forgot to tell them to bring a change of clothes. The auburn haired weyrlingmaster bent over suddenly laughing. "Oh, they're going to be just thrilled then!"
Sy'ka hadnt much liked anyone since he arrived here, so a bunch of new riders really hadnt made much of a difference honestly. Scowling his normal pleasantries toward the daylight, the weyrling snapped his fingers instead of verbally telling his amethyst to come along. He wasn't in a good mood today, and even she would get scorned if she didn't step carefully. Itxyth knew that. However, normally the purple and white dragonet was dull enough to temporarily forget. Today, was not one of those days though. No, she was too terrified at the idea of flying. Which, in all honesty is probably why Sy'ka was in such a bad mood with how fast and annoying her speech could get. Let's spare you the details though, it's already a bad enough morning without her too.
(Ooc: So, Aki and I decided to pair the two clutches together for this lesson and the next betweening one. I'll add in Lorendyth and Akilu after a few more posts.)

Thormyth yawned loudly from his stone couch, roused from his midday nap by Illiath’s voice resounding in his head. He wiggled and stretched as he climbed to his feet and shook out his wings before maneuvering through the room to get to His’ side. Another lesson Vl’kanMine. Hurry and get those straps on, I refuse to be late. The young garnet snorted as he roughly butted the mans shoulder to get him moving faster. “Alright alright, I’m goin’…” Sighing lowly, Vl’kan neatly set the drawing and the tools he had been working on to the side and dragged himself away from the desk.
Quickly he got to work and within minutes Thor was all suited up and looking sharp. The young garnet twisted his head as he surveyed the riding harness. Well they looked good so in turn that must have meant he looked good. At that exact moment Starfire chose to speak up and whistled and cheeped at her BigRed. Thormyth, however, was not in the mood for the young huntyres antics today and growled fiercely in her direction with the orders to ’stay put’ before stalking out the door to meet up with their teachers.
Eventually they came in to sight and it was clear Thormyth wasn’t pleased to see they were not the first to arrive. It looked at though one of his amethyst sisters had beaten them to the punch. Thormyth hissed and lashed his tail against the ground. Watch it you. You nearly knocked me out with your tail the other day and I really don’t want a repeat of that. Good. I at least have you on your toes…but we are still late.
Vl’kan sighed, shaking his head as Thormyth sat in a minor huff and curled his tail around his feet. “Hey Panille, Iliath. What sort of scheme do you have planned for us today?” Lightly folding his arms across his chest, he leaned against one of Thor’s legs and looked back and forth between the green teaching pair, half wondering if a Southern nuisance was going to show themselves.

F'lon and Aphath weren't too far behind the pair. Nice to see Thormyth's in a particularly foul mood today. He thumped his cousin on the shoulder as he passed and continued over to where his own dragon stood and proceeded to check on her harness.
He gave the young dragon a light slap when he was done and finished tugging on his jacket. Two classes merged together. Now that should be interesting. Or disastrous...

"Panyth! Panyth I think we might be flying today! Don't you think so?! It's going to be so much fun if we do. She said to bring straps right? We MUST be flying. " The young man jumped around the barrack excitedly. Flying yes...If we do not fall first.[/i][/color] With a nervous chuckle he quickly threw on the harness as best he could; which was sloppy at best. He stopped as he looked at his riding gear. Soon he wouldn't be able to wear his rediculously coloured, flowing outfits anymore. Soon he would be wearing the constricting riding gear... How was he to show his personal flair? A chortle form behind him caused the boy to turn quickly, in time to see Panyth pointing his nose at the collection of colourful scarves. Yes that would do!
He slipped into the riding gear, commenting mentally on how uncomfortable it was, and quickly added on a multitude of scarves. One around his neck, two as a belt, and one tied around his arm. He would have added one to his helmet as well, but Panyth reminded him that they needed to get to the lesson. Loudly announcing his agreement, he ran out the door and towards the meeting area, Panyth not far behind.
"We're here Pan! Hi!"
Hurry up, little lamb, or I might have to drag you by your feet. Braymoth hissed as Yufa took her sweet time making sure she looekd presentable in her gear. Pleased with her appearance, she grabbed the straps from their home on the wall and followed Braymoth out the door. Z'nil and his always-depressed green were already on their way, and Yufa greeted him softly. Being around others always made her more comfortable now; Braymoth didn't act up as much when his 'potential allies' were around.
They made it to the meeting place in good time and after a quick, "Good day, Weyrlingmasters," Yufa set to putting on Braymoth's straps as the garnet looked around for his fellow classmates, Lorendyth and the queenlings in particular.
Everyone else looks so ready for this Z'nilMine... We're going to be fine too right...? Her voice held the enrvouse, unsure note that it always seemed to, and Z'nil placed a callused hand on her head in the hopes of calming her.

K'lin sighed as he walked around the Weyrbowl. To tell the truth this is as serious as the man had been in quite a long time. He was going to be a father! He should be happy, and excited...not grumpy and serious. Mine, why not have our weyrlings join Panille and Iliath's class to learn how to fly? Bearith crooned at his rider as he landed on the ground next to him. He had been trying to think of ways to cheer him up all day, and this is the best he could think of.
Why not, it would be good for them all to get together for once. Maybe we can teach them how to co-operate as well. Alright Bear, talk to Iliath and see if it's ok with Pan if we joing them. A small smile appeared on his face as he thought about bringing the two classes together, and what trouble that might cause. He patted the blue dragon's leg lovingly, and smiled up at his life time companion. All he needed to do now is wait and see what the other Weyrling Master would say.

Panille looked over as Iliath nudged her. Looks like they're wanting to put the two weyrling classes together for this lesson. Nodding, Panille told Iliath to say it was fine. Once the green was done, she curled up and watched the weyrlings arrive. The dark form of a green from Maelath's clutch was one of the first, followed by a brown haired girl Panille didn't know. "We were told to meet with your group?" Akilu asked Panille, a bit unsure if she and Lorendyth had been pranked or not.
When the weyrlingmaster nodded her head though, she sighed in relief. "Good." Lorendyth flared her wings, looking at the older green curiously before folding them back in. We get to fly right Mine? Oh, do you think I'll do good? I think I'll do great, not as great as some...but still great! The green shivered in anticipation, but really on the inside she was as cool as ice. Her eyes leveled with the older green that was teaching them and she snorted. She could do much better than even her!

Interesting. came Ortaith's voice, running over his rider's mind like sand carried by the wind.
"What's interesting?" she asked, eyes firmly closed.
This lesson of ours is being combined with the class with Ista. he answered, sounding speculative.
krofud shrugged, not opening her eyes. "They're all annoying, doesn't matter what clutch they're from or what island." she sighed, "If they bother you, we won't go. Easy as that."
We're going, Ortaith answered emphatically, Today's lesson is flying. he'd gleaned that from the minds of other weyrling dragons, and his voice radiated with excitement. That even got Krofud up of her own accord, without even needing Ortaith's desire to fly to prompt her: she wanted to learn this skill as badly as he did. What spoke of more freedom then the open sky underneath your dragon's wings? She raced to the barracks, grabbed the straps she'd made, and joined Ortaith in making their way to the Istan green who was teaching her weyr's weyrlings.
She offered the woman a nod of greeting, but that was about it-- Ortaith, however, was keen to make a good impression. He so desperately wanted to learn this skill. Greetings, Iliath. Krofud and Ortaith present and ready for lessons. You will be teaching us to fly? he couldn't help the note of childish, pure excitement in his voice at the question.
Artemis, ridermine, I have absolutely wonderful news! Came alieth's enthusiastic voice. She didn't wait for her rider to put down the straps she was mending (Alieth was growing so fast that she was now having to extend them on a weekly basis), before finishing her statement. Iliath has called us for a lesson. Today we learn to fly, and not even the fact that Malaeth's clutch will be joining us can ruin today! Come on, let's go! she paused, and added, Iliath says to bring the straps. she added dubiously.
Artemis smiled up at her dragon, and nodded. "Give me a minute, then, so I can finish fixing them." the leatherworking was hard work- nothing like the weaving it looked so similar to. Thankfully, she'd been at it for a few hours, and now she was almost done. Alieth sat down on her haunches obediently, watching her rider work, and standing without being bidden when her rider tested the straps' new size against her body. "That should fit for this week." Artemis said cheerfully, and Alieth snorted.
Then both of them were out the door, meandering to the green and her rider who taught them all they were learning. Artemis saluted Panille, and nodded friendly greetings to the other riders present, including the ones native to Trelis. She held nothing against this new weyr, even if Alieth didn't really approve of it or it's inhabitants- this was, Artemis had the feeling, more Alieth's peculiarity then any true judgement of them. The amethyst simply didn't see here as home, not yet.
"Alieth said we were flying today?" she added, moving to adjust some straps on her amethyst- they fit fine, but she'd been hasty in putting the harness on, so she would make adjustments now, while they had a moment.
Next on the scene were Kordelia and Isanoth, Isanoth already wearing his straps, double-checked and fitted to his hide. Kordelia was looking at them critically, but when they stopped with the rest of the weyrlings, she saluted Panille. "Kordelia and Isanoth present, Weyrlingmaster."
She was, of course, worried about this lesson: now that she had something to care for so strongly, every potential danger worried her, and of course, this was a potential danger. She was excited too, and that was making her internal tempest wage more of a war then usual. So she hid it behind a frowning face, as she turned back to critically examine Isanoth's straps. they were of normal brown leather, which was the problem.
"I'll have a set made for you that are black, when you're done growing," she sighed finally, "That will go with your hide better."
I am fine with these, ridermine. he answered patiently, knowing exactly what was the real cause of her comment. And when I am grown, I will be happy with whatever you give me. Don't worry- we will fly well.
Kordelia sighed, and ran a hand over the joint where his wings met his body, corded over thick with muscle. I know. I just worry. she told him silently, and he nuzzled her. Soon, it would be over and they would be in the air, and she would be fine.
Ter'lohr arrived later then he ordinarily might- though still safely on time. The reason was the prancing amethyst beside him. Dancereth was radiating excitement and anticipation that someone unbonded could probably feel it, were they standing right beside her. The prancing amethyst had not been content to sit still, and the fidgeting had cost them time in preparation. Even now, her straps were only partially on: she just hadn't been able to stand it any longer, and had needed to come out there NOW. She didn't want to miss any instruction that would get them into the air faster.
Lore had followed in good spirits, shaking his head at her impatience. Not that he could blame her- this was the day where she would do, for the first time, something she was born to do. Of course she'd have as much energy as a young racer filly. It was only natural.
So, when they arrived, Ter'lohr tossed a cheerful salute at Panille, and nodded to the rest of the candidates. "Ter'lohr and Dancereth, present and accounted for!" he said cheerfully, and then turned to finish putting the straps on his amethyst. She still fidgeted slightly, but now she was willing to sit still enough to let him finish, at least.

"Lene! Are you finished or am I going to have to come dress you myself!?". D'rian's impatience was tempered with just enough of his suggestive overtones to make her realize he wasn't terribly annoyed at the wait.
" D'rian if you take one step further into this room I'll unman you myself clothed or not!"
He sighed with a little chuckle. "it's just a pair of pants lene. How hard can it be?"
" oh shut up will you?! I haven't dressed like this since I was five shard it!". She finished the fastenings and grimaced at herself one more time in the mirror before stepping out from behind her dressing screen.
D'rian couldn't help the appreciative glance that raked over her long shapely legs that were showcased to near perfection by the close fitting pants and knee high boots. "lene? ForgivE me for this... But why the hell would you want to hide under those skirts... ?"
Kelath rolled his eyes and eulurth rumbled a growl about human male stupidity as both dragons stalked off toward the lesson.
" because my body is no mans business until he is my weyrmate thank you very much. Now keep your eyes and hands to yourself and let's get to it. We don't want to be late this time. Eulurth says its a mixed lesson with the ista'an weyrlings.". She stalked past him with her back rigid hating the blush that colored her cheeks. Damn not being able to ride a dragon sidesaddle like you could a runner beast. Several of the students were already there when they arrived.
V'lkan and thormyth, ter'lohr and dancereth, who seemed to be trying to show off her namesake. F'lon and aphath, yufa and braymoth and a few others.
Time to fly.

Eliitra looked at herself in the mirror. Her riding gear fit her like a glove. A bit too tightly for her taste... especially when she didn't wear the rather thick riding jacket over it... The gloves she wore were black. She wasn't such a big fan of those... brown gloves that had been given to her. The black ones suited her better, she thought. She examined herself in the mirror again, looking at the blond braid which was pulled over her shoulder. The pants were tighter than what she normally wore, hugging her skin closely, showing off her legs. She was short... but... that didn't mean a whole lot, really... She hoped not. Then again, why was she worried? LG EM! We are going to BL!!! EM! Come on! I'm all harnessed up, YLF and CG and COs are GTBT! Eliitra sighed. "I'm coming Nevinth...." She slung the jacket over her shoulder again and started walking, helmet under her arm. And started marching. While Nevinth skipped along right behind her, though she looked somehow, cute and dignified doing so... all at once. Was that possible? Her little cheerleader who was braver than she should be was always just a bit... out there.... OH! Look! CG straight ahead! OOOOOH! and EEHB! Let's go talk to him! Come! Now! Well... Nevinth had her mind on something alright... and it certainly was not the lesson. It was what she considered to be a hot bronze dragon not too far off... and his rider... well... he was more than just a little handsome. Eliitra new him sort of... Of coursne, Nevinth hardly paid attention to her rider's memories and the poor dear... her memory really wasn't good. Like most Amethysts, as it seemed. Not that they had really learned their names or anything... they were just acquaintances, after all.... Nevinth stopped in front of Kelath giving him an appreciative croon. Hello, HB! I'm Nevinth! And this is EM, or Eliitra Mine! Her voice was all kinds of excited. Eliitra sighed, bowed to Panille in respect, and moved to deal with her excited little Amethyst. "Sorry about that... She's a bit... hyper.... to say the least." She rubbed the back of her head just in time for Swift and Pryd, her too Lunars to start circling the air above her head. Oh yeah... and there were the two of them to deal with too. Apparently, they didn't understand what "stay" meant. Or at last the younger one didn't. Swift should. She shook her head at the two and gave a weak smile to D'rian and Jillalene. ------- Iirla pulled her hair back again, tightening the waterfall braid again and tying it for the third time. It cascaded along the side of her head and came down around her neck over her shoulder. She had gotten the call, but she was taking her time... and this irritated Izanycorth. Iirla wasn't sick per-say as of yet... but she wasn't feeling at her best and she was in no hurry to go and see people... Even Vl'kan... That thought startled her for a moment, but she smiled slightly. That was right. Today... they got to be in the same class. She couldn't help the small smile which pulled at her lips, but she felt somewhat... awkward in these pants and this top... it hugged her a bit.... closer than her tunics and her skirts ever did. It was odd. MINE! By now my sister has beaten us! Please! Let us go! The faster you get there, the sooner you can see the man you are thinking of! Now. Let's. Go. Her tone was tense and impatient, barely in her control. Iirla just grinned and laughed slightly, hiding her smile and stifling her laugh with the hand. But that didn't pacify her dragoness who marched out without her towards the lesson area.... and Iirla, making sure all things in order, followed her out... checking ehr boots one more time on the way. this was going to be either... a lot of fun, or a total disaster. Upon their arrival... Izanycorth walked by her Bronze brother, flicking her tail across his side and walked over to... talk deviously with Thormyth. She enjoyed that. Have you tasted blood of late, mighty Thormyth? she asked him with a purr, tail flicking at the air before she finally sat and curled her tail around her claws, a fierceness to her beauty at the moment. It was always a toss up.... rather the garnet brought out the worst.... or the best in her at times... quite possibly, a bit of both. Iirla gave D'rian a weak soft smile before walking over to Vl'kan. "Hey," she said rather softly, though her smile was warm and friendly. "How have you been doing...? Have you had a chance to paint at all..?" Then Trivol was there, demanding to be petted and loved and coddled. Iirla sighed. Even for a lesson.... she could not escape him... even Ama was easier and better than Trivol. ------- R'vin sighed and walked over to Umeith, rubbing the big blue boy's eyeridges for a moment before going with him, both ready for flight, towards what would be their first flight together. And Umeith was excited, even if he didn't let it show. R'vin smiled. "Let's get goin'." Yes. We'll be the best. He was so confident. R'vin just shook his head as they approached and smiled, approaching Ter'lohr. "Hey. How are you and Dancereth fairing?" he asked him, bowing to the Weyrlingmasters before hand as he spoke to his classmate.

G'daro was late, very late. As he put on his new riding gear, Banemith paced back and forth, while Fizgig and Bellatrix watched him. Don't fret Banemith, G'daro reassured his beloved dragon this is going to be a fun experience. Yes, I know, Mine, but I never have flown before. Banemith replied. When G'daro was all set, the four headed off to the lesson.
When they arrived, G'daro groaned. There were other people there, and lots of them. He noticed that the gold of the same clutch Banemith hatched from was here. They both stood up straight immediately, since they were going to be leaders someday. Now, G'daro was determined to impress her with his riding skills. He spent all his time practicing by having Banemith exercise his wings. Now they were ready to strut their stuff.
